Let me brief what she said in a few words. Retail arbitrage requires you to go to stores around or craigslist(Facebook Marketplace etc..) a few times per week. (Requires you to move out of home) Dropshipping = You promote someone's product, and once it sell you make a commission and they take care of inventory and shipping. All you have to do is promote the product online and sell it to the "end customer". The good thing about dropshipping is that you can automate it and scale it, however the commission is small (not too much profit margin per sell, you have to sell a lot). While Retail arbitrage requires driving, upfront money, risk of not selling, but you could make any amount of profit per sale. 1. Find a product that always sells 2. Keep on promoting it on a computer for extra sales 3. Add more winning products that sell to your line to scale(grow) 4. Go on vacay.. ;) Hope this helps!
When u buy from a retail store you still have to look up how many people are saleing the product on Amazon to determine if you should even buy it or not.
4 years later i still find all your old videos to be very useful and i have learn a lot from your channel. I wish i discovered your channel earlier. Your videos are by the far greatest contents ever. COVID19 made Online shopping number1 in the market. Can't believe how working from home is actually real nowadays!
Hi Cora, I actually think you're right about the UK. Not just the UK but other countries outside of the USA, retail arbitrage is still a huge opportunity because it is less known. That is part of why I was able to do it in New Zealand when I was a teenager, because it didn't cross people's minds to do it. My channel is mostly aimed at people looking to sell within the USA, there are just too many countries to discuss them all, but this is a great observation, thank you (my point about it not being passive is still true though - passive income is the ultimate income!) -Sarah
I am from London and am learning about this and eBay and Amazon, I agree with you in the Uk it is lesser known, also to me it's a stepping stone to create some easyish capital for bigger and better things =D
My plan as a 16 year old is to start in retail arbitrage as a temporary 1-2 year business to generate capital to create a business more passive like you were stating, its just very easy to get into for anyone without much knowledge necessary.
That is an excellent point, and is basically the same thing I did. I first got started with Retail Arbitrage when I was 16 (well before Amazon FBA, haha!) and used that money to expand my business. Good luck! -Sarah
so many immature people that can't just shut their mouth if they didn't get anything from this video. And to insult the presenter is just so rude. Go fix yourself first before trying to be successful in business because you are likely to fail. I would not want to buy anything from you mean people.
Interesting and thank you for a good explanation of retail arbitrage. I'd never heard of such a thing until a short time ago! Thank s for more clarification of what it is.
This is why i love Sarah so much. She gives hard information. Eventhough Retail arbitrage may still can make you money today, you won't have a real business in the long term.
Sometime you just have to take advantage of conditions as they are now ... if people can make it work for them right now and make $10K ... $100K .. plus and then in the future its not going to work, well at least you've made that cash
I asked an Amazon "help" agent why Amazon makes a barcode scanner out of your phone's camera on their seller's app if they don't want you to use it for retail arbitrage? She offered no reply on that! I was always going to Walmart, which is not a really good store to do retail arbitrage, as their prices are very much in line with Amazon's prices, to buy Hot Wheels, and Johnny Lightning cars as well as other retail outlets. I ended up having to remove 128 listed products from my Amazon Sellers account's inventory because Amazon wanted to see the CPC's, (child protection certificates}, for each product. I contacted Mattel toys and asked them to send me a CPC for a particular Hot Wheels car, but they told me that they didn't give those out to resellers. I guess only to distributors. I asked if Amazon didn't want their sellers to engage in retail arbitrage? Again, no real response from the Amazon agent. I think they are worried about smaller toys that a child could put into their mouths and that they need to see these certificates to cover them if a child gets sick or chokes on these small cars. I am not sure. In the end, I had to have Amazon either dispose of or send back to me these 128 listed products. I lost a good deal of money on this as I had to pay to have them shipped into Amazon and then pay to have them shipped back to me. Now I have to list them on EBay which is not my first choice for many reasons. I wonder how many other Amazon sellers have had a similar experience with branded toy products. Thanks
Customer Satisfaction is certainly a priority for Amazon, but restricting resellers, who will typically drive prices down, will keep Amazon from having cheaper or competitive pricing
Once I find something good to buy and sell, I am going to try "retail arbitrage". I was always very good at taking all kinds of multiple choice tests in school, but I find out that has no value to employers in the real world. Yet, if anyone can start a "retail arbitrage business", I should be able to do that and succeed!
lol when the video started I was thinking how easy it'd be to buy a bunch of clearance FitBits for 50 to $75 then sell for $125. A minute later she mentions you can't sell them on Amazon. This all sounds like a shitstorm.
The first problem you discussed is wrong. Acccording to the Supreme Court of the USA if you buy a product from an authorized seller (Best Buy, Walmart) you can resell it.
If your entire business model is based solely on RA then you have bigger issues. It's a great addition to the business model, but don't put all your eggs into the RA basket.
With the dropshipping business model, what happens if your product source happens to be out of stock of a particular item you have just sold on Amazon, this could be a serious problem and get you banned from trading on Amazon??
Great video. I went shopping at one store for three hours the stuff on clearance was Easter stuff and the things that was not was restricted or profit margin was too low.
Some manufacturers although do not accept purchase receipts from unauthorized dealers, you can still sell their products. And while "Used - Like New" is the correct condition to sell under to stay within Amazon's TOS, you can choose to sell as "New" until Amazon starts enforcing this. So let's assume you sell product under "New" condition that only you can use it's warranty. After you sell it to Amazon customer and they return it several months later do you make warranty claim on their behalf using your purchase receipt, assuming you still have warranty time left? In the worst case scenario of that won't work for some reason, you can just refund the customer.
Agreed with many of these points. The huge isssus today is to many people just making all these how to videos. I had to learn retail arbitrage myself. Way back in early 2000s I had to use sheer skill and knowledge to find items in Walmart as there was no way to research in store. The phones were not smart and the internet was trash. For example the Terrain Twister was a great RA item many many years ago to give an example and means to date the era. In essence all these people making all these videos are not only altering all the brands and amazon of what’s going on-they are effectively helping to bring a premature demise to what I once considered a trade secret of sorts in 2002-2003....now its nothing special and totally over saturated.. Just my opinions from a guy who did and has done RA before it was even called RA!
Hi WT - Fist of all I am a completely newbie, and watching your videos is just so GREAT, and I really enjoy every one of them. You have a relevant and super cool approach, which I really like. But of course I have a ton of questions I would love to ask, things like how to create a landing page?, how to create an autoresponder?, and how to setup a email list etc.? So I guess I still have a lone way ahead of me. I have by the way read your ebook (Great again!) and my plan is to begin with dropshipping and see how it goes. Is there any way I can get in touch with you directly ?? Would love to be a trainee and learn from you guy's directly.
Mike Sloper They give you advise that'll benefit you. They deserve to profit off their experience and wisdom. There's no reason for them to help you make money if it doesn't help them. That's like expecting to go to college for free.
It's pronounced arbitridge. Not arbitraaj. And how is it arbitrage when the buy and sell transactions are not instantaneous? Surely it's just retailing. Except you're buying at retail not wholesale so have thinner margins and are at the whims of slight price changes. Imagine buying from a shop and then trying to sell for more than in the shop - why won't people buy from the shop? This is pure BS!!
I thought that dropshipping on Amazon got people's accounts banned/closed/etc. Did I misunderstand that? Or, if you're an authorized reseller, do they not look at that as the average person trying to dropship?
You are amazing! I really like your videos. Just wondering why you are still working if you have all this knowledge about starting up businesses? As well, for better picture quality change camera the camera from autofocus to manual (as the camera is searching several times in the video)

I would strongly recommend it. Your arbitrage money is great to build up capital. Save us much as you can to reinvest into scaleable strategies. You'll be glad you did!
Dear @Emmanuel Perla, could you explain how did you done it? I want to start arbritage too, but I haven't done it before. How do you select your product? Where do you order to ship it? Into your place or directly amazon?
#1 i as a customer know what I am getting into when I buy a new item on amazon. I pay less that I would in a store therefore I know There will be some sacrifices. There is no reason why anyone can't do it - you can sell on Amazon.com even if you are based outside the USA, and if you use USA based dropshippers (which I teach in my ebook) then you're absolutely fine. Glad to hear our videos have helped you, thank you :)

I had my US account suspended for doing online arbitrage with a non restricted item that I bought from BestBuy but I haven't been able to get reinstated.
Hi does anyone know if retail arbitrage can get you banned on amazon? I have read that some brands come after you if you dont get their permission to resell their products? Is reselling unrestricted products as a business ok? Any advice would be appreciated! thank you
ello, could you help me, tell me, how can I find wholesalers authorized by Amazon? And if they are authorized by Amazon does that mean that I am authorized to sell their catalog? I won't need your brand authorization?
If you use a dropshipper and by using them you are a authorized reseller of a product, do you have to be ungated in order to sale certain products like shoes or certain brands on Amazon ?
hi Sarah, I read the free ebook and am wondering if dropshipping is harder than it shows because I contacted Amazon about it and they told me that the drop ship program was by invite only. i dont want to do something that will get my account suspended. Also, is there some sort of licence required to do this? I am in Canada so maybe you are not familiar.
Once you save up enough money then a great way to buy low is to buy in bulk from overseas then sell on Amazon. Luckily, I am in an industry that I can make $20K gross per sale, NET around $18K. I then let my son borrow some of that money to buy bulk and we store the product in the shed that we have on our property. I charge him a nominal fee in interest and he has always paid me back before he sells all of the units. He just needs to 'sell' me why he thinks that the item will sell. He is already a true businessman WITH experience and he is only a freshman in college.
looks ypu didn't end up well be the looks of channel its 2022now 5 years later and its really easy to gey ungated in brands and in many things you been wrong. but a you jave now on channel is like fake links like "how to become a millionaire in 3 seconds"
grayson lange Drop shipping is basically transferring product between websites. e.g. see item on department store website for $10 Amazon sells it for $50. List it on your Amazon acc when a customer buys it you oder it from the store website for $10 enter the customers shipping address and the product is sent directly from the department store website to the customer without you ever having to touch it plus the department store pays for the shipping and you're left with the $40 profit minus Amazon fees. Wholesale simply mean to buy large quantities in bulk for resale which means in most cases a significant amount of $ has to be spent on this bulk order before you've even sold one item
Hi Caleb. You can't do dropshipping with FBA because that requires you to send products into the warehouse. If you want to do dropshipping, you have to do fulfilled by merchant. I hope that helps!
Wholesale Ted definitely does thats what i thought. what are your comments on sellers getting banned for dropshipping? I've heard of this from some other videos but what would cause someone to get banned or suspended for dropshipping?
Hi Maria. We don't offer any product. We just give away training for free! You're welcome to get it yourself: wholesaleted.com/4-step it is very different from the strategy that Infinii teach. What they teach isn't dropshipping, it is online retail arbitrage. Sarah explains the differences here: ruclips.net/video/poZngR0_EI8/видео.html
I want to get ungated in the Beauty category but am having a hard time finding a wholesaler for an inexpensive beauty product. Is there one you can recommend?
I'm afraid I don't reveal my personal suppliers, sorry! When it comes to finding USA-based wholesalers I'd recommend SaleHoo (wholesaleted.com/go/salehoo). You could also look at Alibaba.
i have a salehoo account and it sucks theres no good suppliers up there and the good ones that are wont respond if you try to get up with them waist of money!!
There is no minimum I believe - you can ship 10 pieces in. That is a good idea to get started with FBA, do a small shipment, see how it works and increase it from there.
Let me brief what she said in a few words.
Retail arbitrage requires you to go to stores around or craigslist(Facebook Marketplace etc..) a few times per week. (Requires you to move out of home)

Completely agree. Solid breakdown 👌

Hi. First of all let me thank you for the great content you are providing. It really helps and motivates. But i have one question though that i cannot seem to find the answer to. Do you have an update to this video as it's now 2019? Thanks for the vids!
I think I'll be using Amazon FBA Arbitrage to get started before my private label.
3 years later and retail arbitrage is alive and well. oops. I tried drop shipping first, talk about loosing money. yikes!! im happy selling on ebay and amazon. and you just lost my subscription. good luck :)
I started FBA arbritage tree months ago I'm doing well, should I save a lot of capitol,to do start private label?

Bold Statement.
The warranty advice does not apply in Australia, where there are good consumer protection laws.

Hello Wholesale Ted, would you recommend Oberlo?
Well what is suggested is to do drop shipping and not do retail arbitrage, so drop shipping is harder isn't it?
I had my US account suspended for doing online arbitrage with a non restricted item that I bought from BestBuy but I haven't been able to get reinstated.
Hi does anyone know if retail arbitrage can get you banned on amazon? I have read that some brands come after you if you dont get their permission to resell their products? Is reselling unrestricted products as a business ok? Any advice would be appreciated! thank you
So you do not source from retail stores anymore but do you still use the Fba platform for sourcing wholesale and dropshipping?
ello, could you help me, tell me, how can I find wholesalers authorized by Amazon? And if they are authorized by Amazon does that mean that I am authorized to sell their catalog? I won't need your brand authorization?
If shipping from China was not such a huge pain in the a@@ it would be a lot easier. And btw who's Ted ?
If you use a dropshipper and by using them you are a authorized reseller of a product, do you have to be ungated in order to sale certain products like shoes or certain brands on Amazon ?
hi Sarah, I read the free ebook and am wondering if dropshipping is harder than it shows because I contacted Amazon about it and they told me that the drop ship program was by invite only. i dont want to do something that will get my account suspended. Also, is there some sort of licence required to do this? I am in Canada so maybe you are not familiar.
I'm looking to get into online selling using retail arbitrage. What other options to do I have as a beginner apart from retail arbitrage?
i thought amazon fba was cancelling accounts that were dropshipping?
I seem to be haveing a problem downloading your e-book. It keeps looping back to the web page.
Hi. youre from new zealand right? how do you sell in amazon? do you ship your products in US and amazon do their shipping to customers??
Seems to still be going strong!

DEBBY DOWNER OVER HERE.... WE GOT ENOUGH WITH FEES AND SHHHT
Jerry wife for 9 years may I please have a MasterCard
wholesale ted, silly question but, you do dropshipping on fbm then and not fba?
I've heard of this from some other videos but what would cause someone to get banned or suspended for dropshipping?
hi i am with infinii tell me is the difference and does your listings have a tracker so as to ket you know what items are out of stock cheers
Hi Maria. We don't offer any product. We just give away training for free! You're welcome to get it yourself: wholesaleted.com/4-step it is very different from the strategy that Infinii teach. What they teach isn't dropshipping, it is online retail arbitrage. Sarah explains the differences here: ruclips.net/video/poZngR0_EI8/видео.html
true its hard work gets boring rent propertey
tldr; its an ad
I am quitting.
Thanks!!!
WHOLESALE MASTER RACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

can i ship 10 item picec for fba i trying to leanr on it where can i learn on it
what is the minimom
There is no minimum I believe - you can ship 10 pieces in. That is a good idea to get started with FBA, do a small shipment, see how it works and increase it from there.
is retail arbitrage drop shipping
Does it make sense to use Jungle Scout and still do retail arbitrage?
If you're doing it on Amazon, then yes, it will help you see previous sales which will let you know if it's worthwhile picking up the item or not.
Thank you!
there's millions of products
