You're giving us quality content Kym. Exclusive information that was previously for the elite but thanks to you we get a bit of a taste. I am curious what were you doing before becoming an F1 photographer and who inspired you to join?
Kym, after the Miami race, consider driving a little bit north to Cape Canaveral, very good possibility of a rocket launch. I might be able to get you in touch with the right people to shoot the launch or at least let you know where the best off site viewing is. Stay safe.
Kym what I appreciate is your awareness that consistently posting content is key. Some productions waiting weeks or months between posts, and we viewers can lose interest. Thank you!!
You are right. Traffic in Miami usually is horrendous. It will be worse with the race. Stay hydrated. It’s hot and humid. It’s why I’m not going to the Race & I live an hour away.
You're doing all of the races again this year?! Love the work ethic and the content you put out and very much looking forward to more in 2022. Safe travels!
Love your contributions. I live 200m near Amsterdam Central Station (which is 30 min to Zandvoort and 13 min to Schiphol Airport by train) in a magnificent 17th-century monumental building. Meaning, if I would have a room to spare I would be heapy to invite you to stay over for the Dutch GP and provide you all the opportunity for personal cooking. Unfortunately, I don't (I have renters atm) but one day I will! In the meantime, enjoy your 2022 world trip and thanks for all the F1 insides you're providing to us!
Mate, all the best for your 2022 adventures. You will love NYC and Rome, I could live in both of these wonderful cities for a few months at a time. Last years GP championship was fantastic so, really looking forward to this year’s tussles. Thank you for sharing your journeys, I shall be watching it all unfold from good ole Adelaide… cheers
My wife and I will be going to Singapore this year barring any unforeseen covid circumstances. We stay at Carlton across road from Raffles hotel. I’d like to get some merch signed if you get the time. Love your work man!
Hey Kym! As someone who went to college in Waco, it was cool to hear you mention that's your stop on the way to Austin! As a native Texan, I have to say, make sure you also get a Whataburger while you're in Texas! Looking forward to seeing your content this season!
I've just found your channel through this video. I've been an F1 fan for many decades, so I'm aware of your work. I just never realised that we call the same city home! I look forward to more content throughout the year!
Really enjoyed that one Kym. Looking forward to the new website I love planning for my next Grands Prix. Singapore this year for the first time hopefully you have a meet up there.
Love your travel content, Kym! Can you perhaps explain the rules and refs schengen VISA in a future travel video you do? Just curious as an American. Keep up the cracking content! Thank you!
I think i look forward to your content as much as the races😆 be safe, have fun, and if you have time between the belgium and dutch grand prix, stop by and have dinner with us
Great overview of the upcoming travel schedule, Kym. I'm travelling to Singapore from Melbourne for the race this year, and so I can't wait for your content leading up to that trip!
Mr Illman, I'd love a video on the economics of an F1 Photographer. All of this travel must be very expensive. How do you make the money to pay for it? Besides selling directly to us (the fans), who else buys your photos? Magazines? F1 itself?
Hi Kym, I have already bought tickets for Bahrain F1 2022, I will be coming over to watch the practice session as well as full race weekend including pit walk! let's catch up if we can
3:55 if you want to stay in Schengen countries, i suggest you Belgrade, capital of Serbia, nice city, good prices, nice hotels like Hilton, Metropol Palas....
Hi Kym! Thanks for the vlogs! Love them. After Montreal, you should check out Toronto. Toronto is so different from Montreal and they speak English. Fabulous city with lots of diversity, sights to see, live music etc. From Toronto go to NYC!
Staying near the airport in the netherlands is quite depressing Kym! I’d highly recommend staying in Haarlem! Lovely city and possibly closer to Haarlem.
Yo Kym. Aussie here who travels a lot. You should check out the commbank ultimate CC, it's everything the Bankwest has but you earn Qantas points. I swapped from the Bankwest over the commbank ultimate and haven't looked back!
Other good ones in Oz are the Latitude 28 Degrees Credit Card (although recently sold to Citi), and the Citibank Plus Debit card. Think many other countries have similar no foreign transaction fee cards.
Now late August 2022, so I hope your travels went well. Don't mind me - I'm a ( slightly jealous) amateur photographer who travels 1/2 hour to photograph V8 Sprint Boat racing in Tweed Heads NSW.
Advice for Zandvoort, don't expect the run to the track to be a breese if every thing is opend up (again). Unless the orgenizers can convice everyone again to come with puplic transport that sort ride can end up in a 1 to 2 hour drive. Atleast, that was my experience with a DTM race years ago.
Hey mate! I've just booked my hotel in Orchard and Flights to Singapore. Looking forward to my first race in person. I'm also from Perth as well 😊 Hopefully see you in Singapore!
I believe you can come back to Perth before Melbourne GP as WA is meant to open borders on the 3rd of March without having to do any quarantine anymore.
Do you know if teams or their stuff at least will start arriving on monday 18th in imola? I will be driving past and would love to see as much as i could. And also can you see track from behind the fence cause they probably won't let me in?
I know you were staying in Zagreb,Croatia last year so if you are going to stay here again this year it would be awesome if you could do a meet and greet here as well ;D
So I'm a chef, who after struggling through 2 years of Covid, is disillusioned with the realities of running a restaurant. Even though the restaurant runs and I loved it for the better part of a decade, I'm ready for something new. Do F1 teams operate with their own kitchen staff or is hospitality stuff local?
Kym, I highly recommend you to spend few extra days in Azerbaijan. Its very beautiful contry with long history, and also you can "save" some days frome those 90 in Shengen zone :)
As a humble sports photographer myself, I was wondering how you get around the editorial/personal use restrictions at circuits. Obviously when we get press passes we have to adhere to this as we shoot for an agency or publication, but no commercial use is permitted. Do you get special permission from circuits?
I've been wanting to be an F1 photographer but never had the chance to except in Singapore, only in the perspective of a grandstand audience. With all the barriers in a street circuit, I don't really get a clear shot at the cars. I do have experience shooting cars, got some during the qualifying, and race day of cars flyby. Do you have suggestions on how I can get the privilege to be a photographer with F1 or do you give the opportunity for little joey to hop on one of the races photographer access?
Hi. I would first suggest you watch my video “The money side of F1 photography” - www.kymillman.com/store/money-side-of-f1-photography/. If you want more information, book a one to one session with me at www.kymillman.com and I will gladly tell you what I know. Regards
If you ever need an apprentice....
Nah mate, I already snuck into his DMs
Would be so much fun
@kymillman you can contact me anytime!
Lol, I was literally thinking the same thing🤣
Never been more excited for someone else to travel round the globe. Your travel vlogs are amazing Kym, can't wait!
Glad you like them
Couldn’t have put it better myself. I feel like a lot of us live through Kym’s travels LOL 😂
You're giving us quality content Kym. Exclusive information that was previously for the elite but thanks to you we get a bit of a taste. I am curious what were you doing before becoming an F1 photographer and who inspired you to join?
Before F1 I ran a business, and then moved onto wildlife photography.
You're livin' the dream, Kym! Excited to see more content from you this year!
Excited to share

@@KymIllman I believe it is about a 3 ish hour drive up the coast
