Good thing to know if I’m getting pushed out, instead of circling back in, I can just drop to my knees and ground myself and won’t lose a point. That’s so dumb.
Yeah, if it's a caution on the fifth time, why wouldn't the same action be a caution on the fourth time? I don't blame Chance for exploiting the rules to win but it doesn't look good to drop down every time you're about to go out of bounds
@@tylernicholson1155 Well I guess first 2 times it happened it wasn’t seen as “trying to exploit the rules” and on the third the ref wanted to give 1 but it got white paddled then got it on the fourth.
Agreed. It’s becoming stupid. I like the push out rule in one way bc it’s an easy call for refs and it forces action. But it make freestyle too much like sumo. So many points are scored with push outs instead of actually wrestling and scoring legit take downs. College wrestling is the greatest imo with the scrambling and if you score a TD, you’ve really earned it.
You can see moments like at 4:30 and 5:55 were guaranteed scoring opportunities for younger JB but now his physical capabilities are definitely diminished but he still wins world titles/medals. It's like he's winning just with his leftover abilities.
When Kyle Dake got past Burroughs the entire world knew Burroughs wasn't himself. Burroughs effortlessly beat Dake 7 times in a row.. Dake should be paying Burroughs for wrestling lessons. If Burroughs hadn't shattered his ankle when he missed the wall mat running sprints in a strange gym due to the pandemic and missed 14 weeks of practice Dake wouldn't have been teched 11-0 in Tokyo.
@@ods1ODS If Burroughs hadn't shattered his ankle and missed 13 weeks of training Dake would still be one of the best wrestlers to never wrestle in the Olympics.

What a battle. Great match. These guys are insanely tough. Soooo many head clashes though. High level wrestling is every bit as tough as boxing. I have to wonder what sort of long term damage is done from all of these accidental head clashes.
Are you actually proposing that head trauma due to head clashing in wrestling is on par with the head trauma boxers incur? Such an uneducated comment to put it kindly.
@@anthonydelgrosso4818 but "was gonna get it" vs "actually got it" are two totally different things; theres no woulda coulda shoulda in wrestling. like for greco i understand theres like point(s) for attempted throws or something, but not in FS, so this is just weird to me.... plus, that sequence being a dangerous, the ref stopping the action is right, but that usually results in no points awarded to either sides. look at the match where mark schultz got DQ-ed with that kimura (not the same but extremely similar).
The reason two was given was because JB gave up position. He was completely flat and had no means to defend a take down. Therefore, CM was awarded the points w/o him ripping JB's shoulder off. This is very similar to leg foul rules in greco. For instance, if someone is about to get thrown for four and they hooked the leg, the four will still be awarded. The move was GOING to happen, but an outside factor stopped it. That's why the points were still awarded.
@@dvm5609 i see what youre saying, but if u watch it closely, jb only extended out during the extra turk. also, after chance hit the spin (before the extra turk), positionally speaking, i think thats still a 50/50, because the only leverage chance had was the arm, while you usually want to also be under the body or at least the shoulder. in that position, most people would reach up and go around behind for the takedown, but chance went for the extra turk, either because he wanted to get 4, and or he thought jb could scramble the position, if he were to reach behind and try to go for the go around.... anyway, i see how it could be awarded now, but i think jb and slay shouldve challenged this, as i think its illegal (twisting the arm like that).

No, I don't think so, but doesn't Jordan have set offense scoring skills? If you can defend against them, it can mean a victory! Chance didn't have to do much, get the one takedown, and defend like hell. It's not really a long term strategy though. How often will Chance take Jordan down?
Good thing to know if I’m getting pushed out, instead of circling back in, I can just drop to my knees and ground myself and won’t lose a point. That’s so dumb.
Agreed they should change that rule Asap
They need to do something about the intentional grounding.

Agreed. No fault to Chance for using the rule to his disadvantage. It’s just a bad rule and guys are going to continuously exploit it.

I feel that chance grounded himself 3 times to avoid the 1 point push out.
Chance is looking good! Super proud of him! Glad to see kids clean up their act and get some redemption, especially after being counted out.
Yeah he’s an inspiration and he’s so open about it in order to help others. He’s a good person
Chance has really cleaned up his act.
Seems every wrestler JB wrestles can’t open one of their eyes after.
how is that two points on the arm throw
JB is crazy. He’s like 5 years older than Biden (wrestling years) and still a boss.
Wrestling years? Lol
Lol
Lmaoo jb definitely got more miles than Biden that’s for sure.
What is grounding exactly? Is this a new rule?
chance had like 3 good seconds that entire match it’s crazy that was all he needed to secure the W
Should be 1 point when someone goes out of bounds. Only time is not is if the takedown has already been awarded,
Only if they're on their feet. If the wrestler (I believe the defensive one specifically) is on their knees then it's not a point.

Not as much as youd think. Theres more muscle and ligament damage done in the long term than many head related issues.

It doesn't amount to much.
I feel like the bulk of wrestlers long term injuries happen in the knees. I’m always scared to blow my knee out when I grapple.
how did chance get awarded 2 for that arm spin? the ref stopped it before he was able to establish control, due to the extra turk... so confused...
That was nasty but he was getting 2 that's why I'm cool with it
