Such a despicable crime that is not often touched as much as the Holocaust is. Its infuriating how little this event is talked about in history courses.
I would not use history classes in school as a barometer for anything. As far back as the 1970s historians were complaining that students here in the United States were not being taught anything close to real history. Keep in mind also there is only so much information you can cover. Finally, always remember the mass media (including the publishing houses that create history textbooks) historically has been dominated by members of a single ethnic group, and they sure aren’t Chinese.
I remember back in the 1990’s I briefly worked with a Red Chinese General while the plastic injection mold building company were building a mold for his company. He told me that the Japanese Nation is still on their hit parade because they never apologized for the war actions during WWII. The way he talked I didn’t want to be them if a war breaks out. Have a great day!
The CCP, especially since the death of Mao, has made it a point of using anti-Japanese hatred as a tool to rule the peoples of China. Beginning in school, the Chinese are routinely subjected to images and stories of Japanese war crimes against Chinese during WW2. They are then told there is no difference between Japanese then and now. The Japanese are not oblivious to this. It’s only a matter of time before that area of the world erupts into another conflagration.

The competition between the two Japanese officers as to who could kill the most was a BEHEADING competition with samurai swords, not stabbing or bayoneting as stated. Each officer beheaded over 100 victims with the winner ahead by one head.😮
It was easy to find them because there were numerous newspaper reports in Japan of their crimes. The Japanese people were completely okay with this. Today the Japanese are taught nothing about the War except about the atomic bombs. The Japanese believe they are the victims of the war.
