- Author Douglas Murray says “there’s something highly comical, but something very sinister as well” about London’s LGBTQ+ flag display.
“This sort of endless insistence that everybody else actually has to put up with this sort of weird overreach by a very distinct minority of the population, I think heralds, at some point, a backlash of its own,” he told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
When someone is genuinely proud of who they are, they don't need the whole world's praise and adoration.
That's not what it's for but ok
They aren't proud they lack attention .
When minorities have been oppressed and abused for decades celebrating who they are is an act of freedom and defiance. Don't like it? Organise a straight pride.

I am from Canada, and I find it quite appalling that the LGBT+ gets special treatment over Indigenous people, with all the ridiculous virtue signalling and pride colours in our face everywhere. Worse, is that pride month falls in June alongside Indigenous month. Why don't they move pride month to another month? If people want to live that kind of lifestyle, it is their choice and I will not judge such people, but pushing their lifestyle on others will only do (them) more harm in the long run.
Because the real aim is to destroy human bonds and human relationships so that the government will be all and all to everyone , not your family and friends.

I remember seeing black and white pictures of nazi flags hung in Berlin city streets in this exact same way as the nazi faithful lined the sidewalks and gave the raised arm to the nazi parade coming down the street. The similarities are chilling. Not long ago, I would've thought "It's a good thing we defeated the nazis, otherwise there'd be flags hanging everywhere to enforce belief in a powerful ideology about identity." But I would've spoken too soon, it turns out.

Glad June is nearly over, I can go food shopping again. Been boycotting companies in June that changed their logos to incorporate that awful flag: Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Asda. Why do these companies/organisations have to virtue signal all the time? It's absolutely pathetic, hollow and meaningless! @@Vaul. Well, it's quite a common practice, especially by Christians and by churches continually pushing their beliefs onto people. That's pretty sinister in my opinion, especially when those beliefs engender hatred and homophobia. I'm sure you'll find heterosexuals and Christians are pretty well represented too with full awareness of their existence, but with much less backlash.

@Dr If you think about where the movement originated, it was because being gay was illegal. You could not lead a normal life with the person you loved, or legally protect them on the same terms as a married same sex couple. You were made to feel shame. So Pride in its original context was an appropriate and right sentiment...to be able to feel pride and not shame about who you are and who you love.

I decided to walk through my English town 'rainbow-spotting' the other day, I urge people to try it. It was about every 15 seconds : a shopsign, a badge, a lanyard ... Does anyone really, honestly think we need this? That it's actually promoting anything?
