i think its mainly due to Japan's strict garbage throwing rules as well as being a lazy person. if you were a lazy person, you'd prefer throwing trash all at once rather than every other day

i think one of the main reason as to why having dirty rooms is quite a thing in japan is due to their strict recycling rules and partly being lazy. just imagine if you can only throw certain trash on different days its better to collect them and throw them all at once especially if you're living alone

See there’s a reason why they will have dirty rooms, it’s how trash is handled in Japan, it’s such a pain in the ass to deal with compared with like the US. Not only do they have to sort them in specific bags, they also need to pay for certain, if not all, garbage to be disposed of.
