Lisa's realization that she was already dead was hands down the SADDEST scene in the series. And the devs did a great job of making you build a connection with her to the point where it was a relief to speak to her. Then only to find out you had been talking to a ghost the whole time. . .😭😭😭
Lisa falling apart is one scene in the first Silent Hill that actually made me so sad. It's a moment where there's no real horror, it's just a woman who's suffered at the hands of terrible people. She's a monster, sure, but not in the way you'd ever expect. She's not evil, she's just broken.
This actually made feel really sad for her as well. It was a pretty depressing moment. Certainly one that I will not forget, and if Harry did truly survive (in the game he was never freed) he certainly wouldn't forget either.
it depends on what part you’re talking about, before the cutscene, yeah, there’s no horror, but the cutscene is one of the most terrifying things i’ve ever seen
Realizing there is in fact no way to save her, nothing you could do differently, is heart wrenching. And seeing her diary after her death that talks about the horrible way she died is just another kick in the stomach.
that scene always scared me so much as a little kid i remember having nightmares about the way she limps forward towards you during the cutscene, everything about it including the music, so moving in a beautifully unnerving melancholic way…
This scene was one of the most heartbreaking moments in silent hill 1 the way lisa finally realizes whats wrong with the town changing and alessa getting captured caused Lisa's mask to break and we see her desperate side of wanting to move out of silent hill after all that drug abuse from doctor Kaufman i wished there was an alternative way to save her from turning into a monster 😢
@@pinkpugginz Naw, it’s because the director never really completed the game. Lisa is significant in Silent Hill 1. Her plea for help and transformation is heartbreaking. The music that accompanies her scene is like a tragic love song. The director had a budget to have animated barbs go up a preacher’s vajayjay which isn’t even in the game, but he didn’t have a budget for Lisa’s story? I’m calling bs.

Lisa's backstory is incredibly sad. She was an aspiring actress that, by family circumstances, ended up being a nurse. Kauffman got her addicted to white claudia and basically forced her to take care of Alessa. Seeing that she had injuries that would kill even the strongest person on earth, she tried to quit but Kauffman wouldn't let her. Her boyfriend travelled to Silent Hill, feeling something terrible was happening to her. When he arrived, Lisa was already driven to insanity and, after her boyfriend was killed by Valtiel, she finally snapped and tried to kill Alessa. Valtiel, in return, killed her. When she finally realised she was dead, her spirit remained trapped in the Otherworld, being tortured for all eternity. Poor girl didn't deserve that fate.
The feeling I had watching this cutscene for the first time was so surreal and emotional I truly felt sympathy and empathy for Lisa along with the music it made realize she just wanted saved
Something about the death of Lisa has just always upset me and made me like super emotional. Idk if it’s the music or the visual of her stumbling around bleeding or what but it always hurts me
I mean Harry was literally surrounded by monsters almost all his time on Silent Hill, knowing that Lisa was just another one of them should've freaked him out.
She is the same, the phrase that Angela, and Eddie said to James, this was also confirmed with the paranormal magazine at metro at SH3, peobably that's the link between SH1, and SH2, the state of Lisa. That means, Valtiel is always watching, maybe he is The Crimson, mentioned on The Book of Crimson Ceremony.
This scene when I first played the game honestly traumatised me, Lisa was so kind and I just wanted to save her, but the conflict of knowing what she became, that it was to late, thinking if she got to me I might have to kill her, but wishing to save her. That really fucked with my young mind back then.
The first Silent Hill should have had a remake as well. I know SH2 is the hands down general favorite but SH1 is the birth of the series and is so good too

I remember pouring myself a cup of root beer and drinking it like it were like a heartbroken man trying to get over a woman with wine whilst watching her cutscene. After that I just sat and listened to the music for a while, it was so haunting, comforting, disturbing, and somber all at once. It was then when I realized that the reason WHY she scared me, was because she was actually a good person who was caught in a really bad situation. And the result was becoming a husk, a once was with the only purpose left to fulfill is vengeance.
You know what’s even scarier about this scene? It’s the fact that Lisa transform into a blood zombie nurse within a dark room cover in rust and blood. And it’s in some sort of pocket dimension inside Alessa’s mind called Nowhere, where all of the rooms are connected to Alessa’s memory. Plus Harry has been fighting tons of Zombie Nurses and Shadow Kids in Nowhere, so he’s a bit paranoid that Lisa tried to kill him when she wanted to hug him.
i think the radio station did something to the family’s minds and made them crave human flesh, then when the sheriff turned the radio on at the end, he and henry probably met the same fate
Thats a good question actually. She kills Kaufman at the end but doesnt go near Harry. Not saying its smart to trust her anymore but you do raise a good question. Is she really asking for help or is it a trick?
It probably would've been an instant death for Harry, just like that surprise hentai thingy in the fridge when you forgot to lock it 😂. Come to think of it, SH3 was full of insta death moments, which to me was annoying as hell.
