I'm 56 years of old and I've boxed all of my life. From a kid to a man, many years competitively. Of course with my advancing years my testosterone waned and my agility, stamina and strength etc with it. HOWEVER, I started on TRT (Testosterone Replacement Treatment) 2 years ago, and now I feel like I'm 25 again. My strength and power came back to a shocking level. I spar with guys half my age and I'm giving them a good run for their money.
A geneticist is not needed. A geneticist will determine whether or not the chromosomes are XX or XY. That's been determined. The key point is she was born female and is not a male transitioning to female. The issue is whether or not her testosterone levels give her the advantage that trans women enjoy from experiencing male puberty. Her boxing record indicates she's not overpowering her female opponents. She's lost nine time to female opponents and her knockout wins are only about ten percent. That's not power.
@@D1it4FNbut she’s not born a female. They have internal testicles. They don’t have ovaries or women’s reproductive organs therefore they are not women
@@D1it4FN Just because her record isnt 60 wins and zero losses doesnt mean she doesnt enjoy an immense advantage over women who havent gone through the same development cycle she has went through. For example the average female professional boxer would destroy the average man who's not a boxer. That doesnt mean the man doesnt have a huge physical advantage over that female professional boxer, it just means hes a crap boxer who lacks the skill set to overcome the female boxer despite her lack of physical advantage. So using record as proof does not stand up to scrutiny. Allowing a female boxer who has all the advantages of a man box other women who dont have those advantages is dangerous. Power can kill easily, especially if you dont have the skills to avoid it which not every female boxer will.
@@_Kid_Buu_ your points are well taken. And although her record is not "proof" in the purest definition of the word, her record is indicative she's not pummeling her opponents to the canvas. But yes, boxing records don't tell the whole story. And I understand your point about the XY chromosome giving a person born with female genitalia some advantages. That's where a geneticist could Supply better information I'm able to. My understanding is that until a boy goes through puberty structurally there's not a whole lot of difference between boys and girls of roughly the same size. With this Algerian boxer who had not, to my understanding, experienced male puberty and thus did not acquire the advantages evident in a person transitioning from male to female. I think he's more like a tomboy. At least that's my thinking. Otherwise, on the trans issue, I'm 100% an agreement with JK Rowling.
Because it’s not needed. It is literally an impossibility that they tested positive for xy chromosomes. If they had they wouldn’t be eligible & would’ve been bogged out a long time ago. This is all completely independent of politics or “wokism”.
She is a biological female. Carrying female reproductive organs. Unless we're suggesting men can in fact give birth, despite recent objections to the opposite. The issue isn't whether or not shes male or female, its whether or not a female born with this condition is still eligible to compete. That is a valid argument
@@benreeves5362i don’t see any productive organs. No breasts at all, completely flat chested, male pelvis and bone structure. Why would you wear a groin guard in training camps if you don’t have a penis? She denies any further genetic testing, if you’re innocent why? It doesn’t add up.

Even the very rare XX/XY true hermaphrodite would be unlikely to give birth. In most cases they are all still male in appearance because of the Y chromosome. If you have a Y chromosome you cannot give birth, because it drastically changes your genetic makeup. If you have a regular XY makeup, there is no scenario or intersex condition where it's possible to give birth.

I don't usually disagree with Simon but the official position on this is very murky. As far as I'm aware she was born a female and was raised a female so should be classes as a female. We have enough controversy over gender to deal with; I don't mind people saying she should be competing in a different class - maybe that's something they IOC can look into- but she is still a female. What worries me is this will get mixed up with with some unrelated argument about bathroom usage or something. It's not the same. She has a vagina and always has done so anyone getting angry over trans issues needs to chill immediately. Yes we might need a new category for boxing, because it's a combat sport and unfair disadvantages can cost people their lives, but let's also not make this a trans-issue. It isn't. She's a female who, as far as we know right now, has a condition that means she produces more male hormones. She still has a vagina. Please be kind and imagine how this whole episode might make her feel.

It's not about testosterone but chromosomes
it's both, actually. One leads to the other.
Testosterone matters too. It's a massive advantage if you're born with testicles vs ovaries
@@kevinb9830exactly 👍🏾
I'm 56 years of old and I've boxed all of my life. From a kid to a man, many years competitively. Of course with my advancing years my testosterone waned and my agility, stamina and strength etc with it. HOWEVER, I started on TRT (Testosterone Replacement Treatment) 2 years ago, and now I feel like I'm 25 again. My strength and power came back to a shocking level. I spar with guys half my age and I'm giving them a good run for their money.
From all the debates that are taking place no one has bothered to bring in a Geneticist
Khelif is a MAN, the gold medal must be taken away from him, and he will be forever free from evil!
She IS a good boxer women
She is a biological female. Carrying female reproductive organs. Unless we're suggesting men can in fact give birth, despite recent objections to the opposite. The issue isn't whether or not shes male or female, its whether or not a female born with this condition is still eligible to compete. That is a valid argument

@@benreeves5362She has XY chromosomes. No one with XY chromosomes can give birth. Even XXY, XXXY, XXYY cannot give birth, it's impossible. Even the very rare XX/XY true hermaphrodite would be unlikely to give birth. Only 500 cases throughout all of medical history worldwide have documented true hermaphroditusm and they were NOT all tested for chromosomes, so many may be false.
