The most unrealistic part of this game is that they let you sit down while you work at the register
Have worked grocery, supermarket, and currently gas station. I wish I had a fucking chair.
I remember visiting the UK while I was already years into working at Walmart in the states. At Asda, all the cashiers had chairs up front. I was so jealous.
I know that ALDI have chairs for their cashiers

@@AviatorMage I'm overnight at a big box gas station, so I pretty much only work with my managers. The number of times they've mentioned an inventory issue or monetary issue is innumerable, and my usual response is pure confusion. Even when you know what they're talking about, it still doesn't make sense as to WHY!?

the amount of times i'd had that happen made me want to scream since what it actually means is that someone either at the end of a days shift or the start, couldn't be bothered to do an actual inventory check.

If I have learned ANYTHING from working retail, is that people will still venture out in the end of days. When I worked at Natural Grocers, people would come during intense snow storms, or tornado warnings. Once, a customer came in during a tornado warning and was yelling at an empty register about the horrendous customer service... we were all in the back, taking cover with other customers.
Yeah, and i am NOT gonna die hungry, now get out here and scan my eggs! 😸

Former uber-eats driver here, we don't care/know whats in the bag most of the time.
If its a small bag thats great, less heavy lifting and the order is quick.
As long as the money is good, which often its not cause uber blows hot-ass, which is why I am a Former driver.
But yea, we don't give a fuck if its 1 hot dog or 50, just pay us accordingly.

It's really hilarious to me how overwhelmingly organized Tina is when it comes to the storeroom shelves and storefront inventory but how much of an absolute mess she is when it comes to throwing away empty boxes.
I don't know if you guys ever bought it, but you can get a dumpster for inside to make throwing away boxes less of a trek.

Aldi is the best grocery store that there is it was made in Germany then got brought over here and they also get to sit in chairs while working the register

Honestly Ray just ordering a hot dog and a taquito is not that weird. When I worked at Sonic when I was 17 there was a guy that looked at the drive -thru menu for almost 5 minutes and ordered only one corn dog. Nothing else. Not even a drink. One. Singular. Corn dog.

Bro Ray could make bank with a podcast. Start "the AHWOL pod" where even if it's just a monthly ep, Ray chats with a friend/former RT employee and gives them a shoutout/spotlight as to what they're doing post RT closure. Ray makes money off of the people always bringing up RT, and the people screwed by WB get eyes on whatever projects they're working/starting on. It'd be a win-win
