Yes! This track never fail to give the the goosebumps. Back in the days I manually recorded this to a tape so I could hear it on my Walkman.:) Those curves on the mid track are cool looking.
Listening to a lot of these recently, and I remembered that one jontron episode where he mentioned the C64 game with great music. I said to myself "I bet that was Jeroen's work." And by golly, it is.
I had myth on a tape but unfortunately the game never worked.so I used to load it just to hear the music in the loading screen.thanks Jeroen for your music!
@@JeroenTel dude, you have no idea how many times I listened to this track when I was a kid. Really, you can't imagine. I know this isn't your favorite track, but, as a kid it really was one of my favorite. (and I still really like it now). I even recorded it on a cassette, so I could listen to it without turning on my C64. It even influenced my songwriting! :D So, all I can say is: thank you :)
@@ginololobrigido7021 Hey, Gino... It's really nice to hear this from you. It was a "tune" I composed on-the-fly right after school spontaneously... Quite a few people have told me how they did listen to my music apart from the games, on Walkmans... it's really nice and touching to hear that... I have many more stories about that trend... someone even crashed his car listening to Cybernoid 2 on his car stereo... weird, but wicked... thanks for sharing, bro! =)
Once again, another amazing composition by Jeroen himself! The art of SID music is both fascinating and brings back a lot of memories for people (not including myself, as I am a millennial).
@@TheBeeshSpweesh - That would be awesome! I mean, there´s already a video of Stephen Ruddy's sound driver for Tim Follin, and Alberto González uploaded a bunch of stuff about his Compact Editor to his channel, so why not!!
I don't know. Maybe it's the percussion that I don't really like about it. It's also pretty short compared to a lot of his other tracks. There's something about this that doesn't make me like it as much as say Dynamix or Cybernoid 2.
Yeah, I guess the standard C64 song is around 3-4 minutes. However, I feel like Jeroen Tel's best songs are his longer songs (Cybernoid 1 & 2, Turbo Outrun, Dynamix, etc.).
Thanks for uploading this, Rolf! :-)
+Jeroen Tel, how do you feel about this song?
You's a proper legend, mate.
+Fernando Alegre I can second that.
I will third that.
I will fourth that
jeroen is like the tim follin of C64 music
edit: wait no follin made c64 music too nevermind
That is more funny than I thought it was to begin with. =D (in hindsight)

I think he sampled Doom.
Because I know it's legal.
You couldnt sample any sound on this kind of machine + this song was before Doom was even released
@@freeman6437 you could play arbitrary samples on a c64
Chicken Tendie i know, but i am just saying that the song was before doom released

This makes the C64 sound like a Genesis.
Yeah it really does.
Shut up Gateway, your computers were shite

Not really? The SID has its own very distintive sound.
Shit I tried entering in the program straight into memory and lo and behold CPU JAM.

Hey, thank you for the video. Do you have the music from Flimbo's quest? It would be nice to see it in oscilloscope view.

I never understood that octave-pulsating bassline. It's an interesting effect and not many people seem to have used it.

Maybe you know it from the 6581 and here it is the 8580 SID chip (or vice versa (*))?

Is it just me, or does the bass sound like it's made for the 6581 filter but played with 8580 filter?
It sounds like this to me also.
It was actually composed for the 6581
I'd love to see Turbo Outrun have an oscilloscope view.
Another of those games I used to load just to listen to the soundtrack ;) I loved the level loader tune aswell, even if it was not from JT.

In all honesty, this is one of Jeroen Tel's weaker songs. Despite that though, it's still a great track.
