Steve is the kind of guy that every crew needs. He knows his stuff on the job and brings a great attitude and sense of humor to the work day. He adds a good vibe to the videos.
I knew Steve had a 69 nova but it's cool to see it--- I had a 69 nova painted black well for a few years. At least it was sold instead of wrecked. Steve is really quite humble for a guy who does all the grunt work. Matt is lucky to have Steve on the team as well as Mike with all Mike's encyclopedic parts knowledge!
Nice podcast guys, I think the 3 of you guys make a great team and for the 3 of you guys that love what you do every day is like best job ever!!!! Good for you guys casing your dreams!!!👍
You 3 guys are a great fit. Matt (vision, over all skill), Mike (organization, parts) Steve (mechanical ability). Common denominator for all 3 of you (love cars). Of course this is an over simplification but it makes it fun to watch how well you guys work together.
Thank you Steve for doing this interview ! Thank you Matt for asking Steve to do this interview ! I ready enjoyed hearing Steve's story as I'm from around the same time period as him ! My first car was a 1962 American Motors Rambler 6 banger with 3 on the tree ! My 2 favorite cars was 1966 Ford Fairlane 2 door hardtop with a 289 automatic transmission and a 1968 or 1969 Dodge Dart GT 2 door hardtop with 318 and automatic transmission ! Steve's been a real good asset to Iron Trap Garage ! Looking forward to many more great videos from you guys !
Almost brothers of different mothers. Very cool getting to know Steve better, his life story is a mirror of my own, from early mechanic to truck driving, I had a couple of V8 Monzas and a real affection for Cadillacs. You all make a great team.
What a great interview! Steve is so laid-back and easy to be around...it can get hectic real fast in a shop, and having someone like him keeps things balanced! Very impressed with his professionalism!
As one of the people asking for you guys to interview Steve, I want to say thanks to you and especially to Steve for doing this. It was very interesting. Together you three make a great team.
Steve's great . Fun to hear his back story. I'll bet most of us subscribers have similar ones. Mine started 20yrs earlier but was the same. It's the view out the windows of your office that grabs our heart strings. A view most hotrod lovers dream of. And Moon is great. I mentioned before we have his clone that we named Hawk. Anderson at old iron workshop has a female version. Funny how similar they all are even though they're mixed breed. Cheers Guys ! 👊😎👍
Wow, loved that interview with Steve, I'd say it's best one yet, as we all know Steve, and what a reserved but interesting guy, and as for his background, I can relate to that, loved cars all my life, also found my first Hot Rod Mag in a local newsagents where I was working in the early 1960's, which got me into building AMT models of 1940's fords and dragster models, (wish I'd kept all the old Hot Rod & custom mags from the day 😪) and when I was courting, again in the 1960's, I met a guy was into American cars, and he had a big double lock up garage at the bottom of the garden of the flat he was renting, and he started buying all these American cars, which we played around with, and he started buying and selling them. A couple of young brothers who lived opposite, started building hot rods, putting Jaguar engines into 1950's English cars, which gave my mate the bug. Fast forward a few years and he got into UK drag racing, being one of the original team that started Santa Pod Raceway, so I got my early baptism into working around drag race cars, we built Funny Cars and Jet Dragsters, which my mate raced, he knew all the top English & American racers of the day, plus we toured around the circuits of Europe demonstrating the cars. And like Steve, I owned a 1973 Chevy Malibu, with a six pot engine (which I loved) and I had a 1974 Chevy Monte Carlo with a 350, that I restored, and my mate painted it BMW Black Anthracite, previously I had owned a 1963 Dodge Dart slant six Convertible, and a 1963 Dodge Polara convertible with a 383, now I just watch your vids and dream, as what you could buy in the 1960's & 1970's for a few hundred £'s, now costs the price of a new luxury car, plus unlike your great country, the UK trying to ban fuel & classic cars 🥲 Keep up the great work, I'm there with you helping in spirit 😄👍
Wow, this brought me back a few years. My brother and I used to run our bikes at New England Dragway. The place was awesome because we saw everything there from dragsters to grocery getters to jet cars. The afterburners of the jet cars would bake the top layer off the pavement at the start line. My brother was almost taken out once by an old Super Beetle with a SBC that lifted its front wheels halfway down the track and swung into his lane. Missed him by a couple inches. My ex brother-in-law ran a Pinto with a SBC, blower, wide slicks and wheelie bars that he also drove on the street and was always running out of gas. Good times.
Guys keep up the great work! I can only imagine how much work it is to do what you are doing. You become part of our lives just like when I was growing up in the 70s tuesday night, Happy Days the Lavern and Shirly.. something we all looked forward to, lol. Thank you and don't forget to have fun!
I can see why Steve likes his Nova. I was home on leave back in 70, when this 70 nova SS350 pulls up and my best friend Johnny jumps out and says you have to drive this. 4 speed on the floor, was the greatest thing putting it through the gears. What a beautiful car.
Steves the MAN ! my first car a 76 Cutlass S , ultimately a 400 HP 455 which only the factory body & frame remained by the time I was done ... spent 15 ish years in Chev-Olds dealers as a parts guy , didnt want to deal with being a mechanic , owned an white 84 Monte SS for near 20 years .... I hear you lol
Excellent interview and "podcast" It has been a great joy to see how Steve fit himself into the position and helps out so much! His ability to build and tune those FlatHead engines has been a joy to see and listen to. He's the man.
As Much I appreciated the podcast about Steve. It was Nice to know about him. I LUVED the Idea of having Steve as the Iron Trap version of the STIG Luke the character from the British version of TOP GEAR. The man of mystery and always full No Fear as well as Endles stories. Oh well ..he is a blessing to the show .
Great to find out more about Steve. I started watching when you found the car in the Pittsburg factory as well. I love all the videos. I loved the loony bin analogy~ 😝🤪
Great interview fella’s! Steve is a great asset to ITG. It’s cool to get to know people that we watch all the time. I am working on a 1930 Model A that’s going to be a Hot rod/Rat rod! Some day It’ll be done. 👍
I started watching shortly b4 Steve came on board and my have you grown and i love it plus i use you guys to price things at auction my first big fine was a 28 ford was 90% there my job was to get it started that didnt happen and it sold for 1000 i didnt know you well then are i would have passed it to you keep the good work 👍🏻
Gonna be honest I’m not a podcast guy never have been but enjoyed this one. And you still need to get Kate to give Steve a high and tight flat top and he’d fit the part in one of the old cars scooting down the highway biting on a big ol cigar!😄 Thanks for taking the time to unwrap enigma wrapped inside a mystery that was Steve. Great vid as usual.👍👍
GOOD INTERVIEW, GUYS. PENNSYLVANIA MADE OUT VERY WELL GETTING STEVE FROM JERSEY! HE SEEMS LIKE A GOOD DUDE, IRON TRAP IS VERY FORTUNATE FOR ACQUIRING HIM. A WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE THERE AND MUCH EXPERIENCE! VERY HUMBLE, YA GOTTA LOVE IT!
that may have been the best podcast yet! steve seems like a darn cool guy and it sounds like he's probably about my age; our early years are real similar as well. i too recall the '82 issue of hot rod mag coming in the mail (although i'm more of a mopar guy) and started my youth as a mechanic in the 1980s until i realized it wasn't for me. the chemistry between you four (moon!) is awesome! sweet nova, steve!
Oh and Steve's a good chevy man. I chevy too been a mechanic for about 40 years did my share of hot rod stuff had 67 Cameron ss 396 4-speed with 4:11 rear end. And a 1934 chevy 2-door sedan 327 4 speed Possie rear end .
I thought this interview was awesome ! I love Steve as a great new addition to the team ! Hey Steve , You know how your wife is still mad about the 68 ? Well Dan , @DD speed shop , just rebuilt a 67 , & he has a 68 that could use some love . Just saying , for a friend . You know it's a good thing , when it all comes naturally . Hot Rodding is 50% Love , 40% Dedication , 10% Helping Others , & a 100% , enjoying the scene . If the garage is full , it's time to expand the garage . Sweat Dreams are made of these . Good taste , the Arden , is 1 Mean Looking car . My personal favorite , just on the way it is , & sets , It reeks of Awesome . Great Team ! The future is wide open . ITG , ROCKS !
This has been one of the best BS sessions so far ! As I got to learn a little more about Steve and the crew ! I hope that one day that I'll be able to come to Pennsylvania and meet all of you guys ! I do have a nephew that lives in Mifflintown , Pennsylvania and my brother and I are working on making a trip out there to see him !
Steve is the kind of guy that every crew needs. He knows his stuff on the job and brings a great attitude and sense of humor to the work day. He adds a good vibe to the videos.

Great video Steve is a great addition to the shop. I always enjoy working with you guys I wish I could of did it longer. 👍👍
At last! We can now find out about the man, the enigma, the man who gets rusty old stuff working again. About time. Great interview.
Nice podcast guys, I think the 3 of you guys make a great team and for the 3 of you guys that love what you do every day is like best job ever!!!! Good for you guys casing your dreams!!!👍
Best podcast so far. Nothing scripted and more conversations
You 3 guys are a great fit. Matt (vision, over all skill), Mike (organization, parts) Steve (mechanical ability). Common denominator for all 3 of you (love cars). Of course this is an over simplification but it makes it fun to watch how well you guys work together.
Yes! Steve the man
It's great to get to know Steve better. He seems like a good guy to work with and definitely adds to ITG.
I agree with Steve. The Ardun is the most badass looking car in the shop! Can't wait to see the end result.
Thank you Steve for doing this interview ! Thank you Matt for asking Steve to do this interview ! I ready enjoyed hearing Steve's story as I'm from around the same time period as him ! The episode where Steve did the carburetor rebuild, it was a Zen like experience.
What a humble gentleman, great to hear the story and see Steve's personality slowly come out
Almost brothers of different mothers. Very cool getting to know Steve better, his life story is a mirror of my own, from early mechanic to truck driving, I had a couple of V8 Monzas and a real affection for Cadillacs. You all make a great team.
Steve truly adds to the ITG show. !!!

Great episode, I usually don't make it through a podcast. Was awesome to hear about the life of Steve, he brings so much to ITG. Thanks Guys!

Great podcast about a cool ITG member. Nice to see Moon, too, who (with that doggy coat) was the best-dressed guy there.
Down to earth cool guy. Nice interview.
