This is me on bass (julian Phillips) Peter from the Dandy Warhols on rhythm, Sploot on lead standing in for Will (who flew back to UK because his mum had died) and Tony on drums
@@thesoundlikechameleons2082 I agree ! But nothing for me beats that first single with Mirrorball and Burned as B sides! Absolute magic (I wish i could claim to playing on them but it was Leon Da Silva) I loved being in that band, and Ian and Will were fabulous guys (Although I'm still a little bit bitter for not getting a part writing credit for 'Just a touch away' which featured on Evergreen. It was written around a bass line I'd had since 1986....., when Evergreen came out it was credited to Les Pattinson! The bass line was very defining and the song was hung off it.......wow that's the first time I've actually said that in a public forum. The bit that hurt was 'Just a touch away' got the most acclaim by the critics and fans........... but hey ho i have many happy memories
Love how you guys groove together on that hypnotic little riff at 6:14. Btw, is that Peter doing that riff, or "Sploot" (who the heck is Sploot?) And what effect is that - like a slow phaser or something? Love that sound.
I saw them at rhe Galaxy in Costa mesa an in Ventura theater. There was about 75 people at the Ventura show. Seriously. Awesome venue. The costa mesa show was packed.

Peter Holmstrom of the Dandy Warhols does a really good job standing in for Will Sergeant at short notice but tracks like Holy Grail really miss the nuances that only Sergeant can bring.
Gracias por compartir 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.. excelente!!
Historic recording, saved by Handy-Cam video.
Wow, thank you for sharing this! They played a great show at Double Door in Chicago on this tour, and it's hard to find footage. Cheers!

Oh wow, that Is him. Very fitting player, and I am sure he had a blast.
@@JoeyLevenson Peter was great ! I was amazed how he adapted to our set at one days notice ! He also joined us on stage at LA Luna in Portland

0:14 where’s Will?
49:23 do it clean
that's what I was going to say...
Every puff of those cigarettes destroyed his beautiful voice. Shame. Neil Young, David Crosby didn't smoke cigarettes- only weed- have lovely voices.
Too many ciggies & bevies, mate.
