Anthony Cedeno you can never go wrong with aventus it’s great. His trailhead scent is wonderful as well. I’m from the same state originally as Templeton and when I smell that fresh pine it takes me right back home 😊
Modern Man TV I heard a lot of good things as well about Trailhead too! But I can’t afford Aventus because it’s crazy expensive 300$ for barley 3oz and it’s super respected and sought after in the fragrance world, that’s why I chose it 😂 But next time I’ll definitely try out the Trailhead scent. I just bought Summit by Templeton Tonics with the Aventus scent because I haven’t tried that product and I watched your review and The Pomps and I heard it was worthwhile. Yeah I love the state of Washington! I have family in Tacoma and Yakima, hopefully I can go during this summer 😊

Kraken is one of my absolute favorite clay's out there. Plus the packaging is on point. Definitely have to try this out next.
Hey Mike, awesome video! Between Arcadian Matte Paste, O'Douds Matte Paste and Shear Revival Northern Lights which would you say has the strongest hold in terms of your hair? Also, which Matte Paste (even outside of the 3 I mentioned) is your favourite and which one do you use most?
My hair is quite similar to yours so I would love to hear your opinion.

Hey Mike! Loved the review, I think you experience the tug when running your hands because drier products tend to dry even more in the hands making it sticky and difficult to pass through the hair. That's why running a wide tooth comb is easier :) At least that's what I notice using my clay.
My Oasis has a runny consistency and creamier than yours. Coincidence?
This is a great product I didnt really care for the sent I got but it's still good this is my school backup for when I forget to do my hair really reliable.

Hey Mike, great review! I really like the new backdrop too. I had a question for you. With grippier products/products with more tugging, do you find yourself with loose strands on your hands? For me personally (wavy medium hair), I'm fine with a bit of tugging, but I usually psych myself out a bit when I see that there are a few strands in my hands after applying. Was just curious if you experience this too for some peace of mind. Thanks, and I look forward to your next video
There's always going to be a few strands that come out, perfectly natural.
Yeah it happens to me pretty much every time I style... even with stuff that’s not sticky haha! We are meant to lose about 100 strands a day!

Quick question.. Would you say this has more hold than Arcadian matte paste and northern light shear revival matte paste?
I was debating between shear revival matte paste and Arcadian matte paste, not sure which one of the 2 has more hold.
This Oasis looks pretty promising too!
I just got the stickmore styling cream, really good stuff too!
Oasis Clay definitely has more hold than Arcadian and Northern Lights. I wouldn't buy Oasis though because I got the incorrect batch and Templeton didn't give me the corrected batch. I would suggest going for Shear Revival Gray Ghost. It gave me a better style than all the ones you mentioned. I would say the hold is a medium firm.

Hey mike im looking for a good strong long lasting hold matt finish clay for my thick straight hair, i have been thinking about this clay because of the hold, would you recommend me any other strong holding clays? Preferably i would like to stop relying on my hairspray every single day😫
that’s a tough one. I definitely feel you on the not wanting hair spray, I actually hardly ever use hairspray, I just don’t prefer it. these days I use ocean clay and cavalier a lot, like a couple times a week. I also used blackwater and Morris Motley TSB 02 today and it was strongggg like all kinds of hold there.

Mr Mel I always use hairspray although it can holds my hair, just make me more comfortable. Like, I use hairspray so it wont move. BTW, I just put a little hairspray on my hair. Like you can still run your hand through🤣
i have a question, since i live in indonesia, its not possible for me to buy this product from their official site or even in slikhaarshop or wherever it officially sells it. but theres this one reseller that sells this clay, but he got the thicker batches, the early ones. will i still get the same perfomance as the actual one?
I was told they did perform the same. I’m told they were just poured at a different temp which resulted in them becoming thicker so there was no formula difference.

@@fineresolve1540 performs exactly the same. I got a jar of the first batch from the reseller you had mentioned, and a jar of the revised batch from Chris Templeton himself. Differs in consistency, but both batches are magical

When i scoop out of my thicker batch oasis, it feels like tiny rocks breaking from the clay. and when i emulsify it, there is stilll some white bits or grains that cant b e emulsified. thats a problem for me when applying it to the hair.

I have not tried anything from them new, I think I tried a matte product from them a couple years ago but that’s about it.

I use to use something called moco de gorilla and its bad for hair so i stopped using it. Then i found out vitalis has alcohol and alcohol is not good for hair. So i been using brylcreem but wanna get something that has more hold

This video is hella shill. First of all you can't just wash this out with water. I know because I used this product every day for the last 2 months. You need shampoo. Second, the tug is not a minor tug, its a very uncomfortable tug with the risk of hairs being pulled out. That said, the hold is great, but it does feel very 'heavy' during the day.
You know he reformulated this product right.... AFTER I did the review.. you can’t go back and blame me when the product changed.

Are you going to go back to your original graphics? When you introduce the ingredients of the product, I feel it's a huge jump from how it used to be. Too many graphics now. I liked the rustic, natural wood look. Bring the lamp and matches back!!! I'm going to protest in front of your house lol jk
Roland Jacobs as of right now I have no intention of going back, only forward 😉 you might be one of the only people who liked that old format. I had so many people complaining it was just crazy. They unsubscribed, instant disliked, said the matchstick sequence was too long, they didn’t wanna watch it they wanted me to just show the specs and move on. I actually enjoyed that version but in order for the channel to grow I had to make the change and so far the complaints have been less, people are still not subscribing as fast as I see them subscribing to these crap channels but 🤷♂️ what can you do? I’m just trying to produce the best content I can.

Yep they sure do! I had a coaching session with youtube this week and found out people are generally leaving during the demos. To me that’s just flat out stupid but 🤷♂️ The whole marketing thing for me is something I’m kind of learning as I go.
