Hi Stef. I sold my 595 turismo (stage 1 and usual mods) 2 weeks ago for the GR Yaris in pure white. My first 3 mods were the string theory spacers, the milltek gpf back exhaust (I had the same agony as you but went resonated with carbon effect tips) and a yet to be installed eventuri cold air intake. The beauty of the milltek system is its adaptability and you can switch in and out a resonated section if you fancy a change. Initial impressions I still say the 595 has more character and is more fun more of the time. The GR is way more fun when you are hooning it and it’s just a much superior car. I still have so much love for the Abarth tho. Brilliant little cars. I am looking forward to following your ownership journey. I have a feeling you will end up costing me a lot of money lol. 👍
Hi Gary! I just sold my GR a few month ago. I completely regret it, but can't find a new one. So I was taking a look at a 2016 595 turismo, almost new for 20 kusd. Could you tell me what mods you did to your Abarth and how it ended feeling compared to the GR? Cheers
@ hi Ivo, sure. I installed a magnetti marelli bombardone R2 exhaust. This is a rear silencer delete so it’s pretty loud but sounds great in my opinion. I also installed wheel spacers and lowering springs which really improves the look and stance of the car. Also a BMC air filter which is a replacement for stock one and fits in the stock air box. Then an sforza front splitter. It is very subtle but makes the car look more aggressive at the front. Also changed all the yellow coloured bulbs in exterior lights and inside lighting to white which makes car look much better and more modern. Lastly I got a stage 1 remap which made a huge performance difference. The turismo is factory fitted with the bigger garrett turbo same as the competizione. So the remap and air filter alone takes the car from 165 bhp to about 205 bhp. It really is very quick with this. All work and parts from Abarth Tuning based in Northern Ireland but ship worldwide.
