It’s amazing that a small business like that can keep prices low and still give great quality, while other places making millions put prices up and serve up garbage x
Hi Lee, great Vlog! When our kids were young we did our summer holiday every year to Great Yarmouth, fantastic place and super clean also. Our kids still love the place and the broads are great too!! £1 burger - superb and 10/10 for me.
It was many years ago I visited the States Lee and was I was very lucky to see many good things over a period of a few weeks, but I have to say I would think twice about going now, especially with the expense of the cost of living there and this is even considering what it would cost in a generous exchange rate. Obviously you have just posted the £1 Burger from Great Yarmouth, well that sums it up, unbelievable value and tasted good too. Sometimes we don't realise how good it is in the UK , yes we have things that need sorting out, but hey Great Britain is still a magnificent country. Thanks Lee , great work mate. 👍
I’ll have to view later , but these British seaside vlogs are wonderful, I love traveling the world but I also adore the British holidays , it’s part of us
Nice one Lee - basically, as long as it is wholesome and tasty, for £1 what's not to like? The guy that owns this place is a legend and much prosperity to him. I like the elderly geezer, who probably grabs his lunch there everyday! Fab. You need to go back and check out their hot dogs :)
Hey Lee! Nowt wrong with a good burger no matter what the price is! Something or somewhere that doesn’t break the bank is sure to be a winner with families! And having the great weather helps enormously in having a good time during the summer holidays! Take care 😘👍🏻
Very useful video. The cost of living is hard for many people. Can you please show more affordable restaurants and places to eat in your videos. Most of the places you show are expensive.
I remember going there for holiday with my family in the early 60s. Went to the shows on the seafront. Saw Val Doonican and Harry Worth. Was invited by Harry Worth onto the stage to dance along with a lot of other kids. Was given a stick of rock by him as a reward. Happy days. 😎
That looked Great Lee. I'd get some of them beautiful looking fried onions on that bad boy. My friend had a snack van outside Ibrox Stadium for years in Glasgow and he was taught by his father, as soon as you open up get the onions frying on the grill. The smell draws the customers in. Great review mate. Keep them coming. 👍
Can't go wrong. It's full marks from me for the Grill & Grind. I'd have gone for the hot-dog. Can't go wrong! Refreshing to see NO annoying vegan or vegetarian options muscling in on a meat-lover's patch! 😄 There's NO better place than the English seaside. Absolutely love it (Blackpool and Whitby in the summer holidays, when I was a lad)! Australia, America, Spain... all might have better beaches, but we're unparalleled for the over-all experience and tradition. Great review, Lee. 👍
Looked like a 70’s style burger from a tin to me, then cooked in oil/grease dripped from onions and everything else around it to add flavour. Not for me pal but I can’t fault you for having a try, respect 👍
True but what can you expect for a quid. Those cheap burgers in the tin with onion gravy I love, my guilty pleasure. Yeh I know their cheap and nasty but just love the taste😂
I totally agree with your comments Lee on the English seaside, it's got a lovely innocent feel about it and me and my family went to Great Yarmouth every year growing up for our summer holidays and I'm back there next year with my own family, as always well presented and edited Lee, you really are first class in your field of vlogging ❤️👍
Glad you have come to my home town and enjoyed a £1 burger, (Chris Higgitt you could join forces here). The Wally Trolly or Road Train as it’s officially known is quite popular in the town and runs the length of the seafront. I’m just across the river in Gorleston On Sea come and visit our award winning beach and sweeping bay, ( it’s where the Danny Boyle movie Yesterday was partly filmed). Great vlog Lee😉👌
What I love about seaside towns everyone of them have the big city regulars. Great Yarmouth, is where all the Nottinghamshire, Leicester people, Weston Super mare have the Birmingham and Black Country people, Blackpool is for the Mancunians, Scousers and Glaswegians surprisingly then you get Margate, Brighton that is full of cockneys and then up the north east Whitby bay is full of Geordies. Lee you’ve got too visit the Brummie and yam yam (Black country) peoples Mecca that is Weston super mare. Lots of good cheap fish n chips, burger, hotdogs stands in that seaside town for you too rate🙂👍🏻
Hi there great memories from great Yarmouth having been since I was nine for quite a few years ago but brings back great memories of my late grandmother and my uncle very happy memories nice to see and good work like always haven’t had chance lately to comment on your videos but have been watching good work
Part of the video for Madness' "House of Fun" was filmed in Great Yarmouth.... a lovely example of the British seaside resort, certainly more desirable than Blackpool in my opinion.
Brilliant great to see you are I my home town, I've been watching your tenerife videos and trying out all your recommendations for the past few years. Keep up the good work.
It’s brilliant to see, like you said in this day and age that it can be done a £1 burger, especially for families with kids, fantastic! Looks tons better than a McDonald’s! Ace..
A pint of cider would've gone down well! Have you ever thought about visiting Eastbourne? Once a holiday place to Tommy Cooper! We have Airbourne here soon too which I can enjoy out of my spare bedroom window in peace and quiet away from the chaos.
Been going there for years and they literally ARE open everyday. christmas, bank holidays, even when covid was crazy and nothing was opened tony was still serving burgers.
Las Vegas, Nevada, USA has large, expensive themed casinos and hotels. The Great Yarmouth businessmen copied the Las Vegas names 'Golden Nugget,' ' Silver Slipper' and 'Circus Circus' but these are older buildings. The Grill & Grind also has a New York Burger, Double Cheeseburger, for 3 pounds and a Texas half lb Steak Burger for 2 pounds and 50 pence. They love to use American place names.
I've being going to Great Yarmouth for over 40 years, it's a fantastic place! Have been to this establishment for a £1 bacon roll, it was tasty! I still love a big mac though and a £1 tray of chips from the market! If you want a pint, go to the Troll Cart, a hundred yards up the road!
Can't beat the great British seaside in summer Lee. Scarborough was my go to when i was little!! And youre right...its the smells and sounds that revive the memories! See you on the next one.
The contactless issue you raise on vendors doing pound lines all depends on their service provider. I know my Son-in-law changed his from a %per tranaction to a % on daily takings which the higher priced items he sells help cover the cheaper ones. He also got a lower rate by about 1.2-1.5% which helped.
Fantastically Fantastic Lee I’m definitely going to Great Yarmouth, i’ve just come back from New York and Vegas and as you well know Lee the prices are ridiculous, imagine what you’d have to pay for that burger and a 1 foot long hot dog in the USA!!! I’m going to have a staycation and follow your footsteps to all the best bargain foodies, i’m going to Blackpool to get the £1 burger, thanks again thanks for a very entertaining informative and fantastic video you are a star!
Wow, it’s like a time warp from the 70s, gonna try and get there in two weeks if my lad can get time off, he’s a chef, Great Yarmouth would be a good unwind, plus a £1 burger🤪
Nice people in there. Basic burger, patty and cheese plus sauce, cheap as chips for a quid. Great they do that deal for those who don't cannot afford to bet ripped off at Maccas, i.e. families, pensioners, etc. 10 from me.
I live 10 mins from Great Yarmouth. During the summer it’s lovely, winter… not so much lol. Burger looked class and will be getting one next weekend. If you come back this way again, be sure to go to nearby Gorleston seafront and try the Famous Dimascio Ice Cream Shop and also The Fig for an amazing gyro!
Typical seaside town. My mate lives in Falmouth in Cornwall and he said in the summer it’s great when it’s busy and bustling with holiday makers, but he said in the midsts of winter when it gets dark at 4pm it’s actually quite a depressing place too live. He said you walk through Falmouth town center at 6pm on a week night the place is quite creepy. It’s that dead, it freaks you out.
Another good vlog Lee. One question, (I am a musician and this applies to all your output), I am interested to know what public domain music library you use for your background music.
Sadly we have terrible obesity crisis as it's cheaper for junk food than stuff that's good for you, some people can't help themselves but be greedy when it's so cheap and others sadly can't afford better quality food
Too true . Main issue is people are less active though imo. Calories in vs calories out most people simply aren't moving enough .Deep fat fryers were very common in homes when I was young .
Probably would have splashed out and bought the cheeseburger for an extra 50p!! Looked decent and you can be guaranteed that everything will be fresh with the amount of product they shift. Cheap and Cheerful can still find a place in this modern world. I would love to live by the seaside - hopefully something I can do when I retire.
I do belive i put you on to this. When you were in Blackpool?.Anyway good vid matey.I will be there Aug 25th,to see JD,and deffo visit the Grill and Grind( more than once) And just around the corner is your cheap cider.Troll Cart( JDW)👍
Amazing price buddy. I’ve got a few mates who live in Yarmouth so will be visiting this place when I’m next there and also recommending them. Cheers for the review mate👍
I gave this place a shout out in your first £1 Blackpool burger vlog lol. If your still there make sure you check out the chip stalls in the market, you can get a decent size cone of chips for £1.20.
You should visit the rollacoaster restaurant in Alton Towers, the food comes to you on a coaster track straight from the kitchen. Its a bit pricey but its a novelty.
I had this burger 3 week's ago as I live locally, & you can't fault it for the money... what's better to sell the same burger at £5 & sell 50 a day or sell 1000 a day at a £1 you decide 👏
When I was a child I used to go to Rhyl in Wales, and loved it there, it was always busy, loads of people there. However, probably since the 90's it's gone downhill, and it's a shadow of what it once was, sad really how is declined. As for the burger you have to wonder what goes in the thing, 50p for cheese, when you can buy a pack of 10 for around that in Aldi.
Thanks for sharing. It's great to see places like this that still exist. But I suspect those prices will change with all the crap that is going on with our country. Brexit, the war in Ukraine, mental inflation 😢
Loved Great Yarmouth in the 50's staying in a Caravan at North Denes or South Denes. Bloaters, on the market only chips and only Tripe stalls. Then a man on a stop me and buy one type bike selling Mushy Peas and Mint Sauce. Sorry to go on, but the best time was when Mum took us to a Cafe for Fish and Chips, bread and butter and a cup of tea. As an afterthought saw Lonnie Donegan at the Regent Cinema and he had an episode of the giggles and had a job singing.
My childhood memories I beaches was at Filey beach in yorkshire, candyfloss, icecreams, fish and chips and burgers were all great value, even the fair had bumper cars , yes time to start supporting our beachside towns folks !!!
Lol, you were in my hometown, well kind of I live in Gorleston just over the river! I hope you tried the market chips, they really are the best chips IN THE WORLD!
Roy Chubby Brown's a bit too blue for me (not that I'm a prude). I loved the late great Bernard Manning. Great to see Chubby still doing the circuit though, as he has for decades now. Don't let 'em stop us laughing! 👍
another great video lee, you deserve a lot more subs, people don't realise how long videos take to do, including setting up for shots, then all the video editing, great job keep it up lee
You can't beat a good English seaside place 🏖🍭🍦 were ever you go in the world ❤ if you got the weather that is! And a £1 burger 🍔 well what can I say🤷♀️ got to give it 10/10 for value 👏 I'm away at moment on Holiday and I've can till you there No £1 burgers were I am at moment more like £10/15 🤣🤣 love the seaside vlogs Lee 🍦🍭👍👍😊x
Had a couple of these myself, the burger isn't bad, obviously it won't be the best you have tasted, but it's great value for a pound, the bun is decent enough too.
Visit yarmouth a lot. Much better grub than you think considering burgers and standard hotdogs are a pound!! And Tony is a fellow Millwall fan. COYL!!!!
Recently subscribed after seeing your Wimp vid, I enjoyed this. My family and I used to go to Great Yarmouth every year. A random fact for you Jim Davidson owns the pier in Great Yarmouth (I apologies if I am wrong though but he did defiantly did) Oh yeah when I last went to G.Y Fish and chips shops were absolutely everywhere!
Gotta love places that do cheap stuff like this......its almost like a community service to feed the less fortunate......some chippys do it with a potato scollop in a bun for about the same price......respect
Anyone supporting the public in this cost of living crisis deserves the greatest possible support. It looks a great burger too.
It’s amazing that a small business like that can keep prices low and still give great quality, while other places making millions put prices up and serve up garbage x
Oh! You came to my nearest town, wish I'd have known, thanks for bigging up the place 👍 plenty more to see around here if you come back 😉

You can still buy those burgers in a tin in b & m!!
I'm glad you found it ok Macca 😎
I was there Wednesday and went for the hot dog.

I bloody love the seaside in Great Britain.. You cannot beat it.
Great videos thanks a lot from wills from the Highlands
The way they cook all of their food in one pan like that looks absolutely delicious!

At one time people used to say-why holiday in England when it’s so much cheaper to go abroad-is that still true???

Gotta love places that do cheap stuff like this......its almost like a community service to feed the less fortunate......some chippys do it with a potato scollop in a bun for about the same price......respect
