    as a single Christian mom, i love that y'all are discussing this! i made a lot of bad choices when i was living in the world, BEFORE coming to Christ, one of them was living in sexual immorality. when i got pregnant at 22, i made the decision to get an abortion & ALMOST went through with it. but by the grace of God, i made the choice to keep my baby and i thank the Lord every day for her because she is truly the biggest blessing! 🥲 i have been walking with the Lord in purity for 3 years now & really enjoying my season of singleness, knowing Jesus is enough! raising my daughter in the ways of the Lord & being her mom in this lifetime has brought me so much joy. i trust God's perfect will & timing for my life whether i'm called to marriage or a life of singleness. all glory be to God! ❤

    As Sav was praising Josh, I was thinking, maybe the flowers equivalent for men is giving them their “flowers” - verbal compliments, words of affirmation, praise, honor, thanks. Receiving flowers makes a women feel loved and thought of and maybe it’s the verbal words of affirmation that make men feel valued.

    Hawaii is sooooo expensive to live now, tourists are actually making it more expensive on the island for the natives to live there. I wouldn’t recommend full blown moving there, at least right now in its current state. It’s beautiful, but a tragedy for some, if not most the natives the moment.

      @@teeandkids937maybe they need the tourists but the issue is tourists moving there to live

    • @LoniD26
      @LoniD26 5 месяцев назад +8

      @@teeandkids937 They “need” the tourists because it’s a part of its economic profit. The use of “need” comes from mostly non-natives that live on the island and benefit from having business on the island. But it hurts the natives that actually live there year-round. As most of Hawaii is owned by non-natives, that profit goes back to those non-natives rather than the natives and helping the island. Those individuals benefit from tourism, while most natives do not. Now if it’s beneficial to them (let’s say they also own businesses), then they’re more likely to be pro-tourism. A lot of natives can’t even afford to live on the island/in homes they’ve had for generations because the mark up tourism has brung. A bottle of water in some areas is like $10-12.

    • @LoniD26
      @LoniD26 5 месяцев назад +2

    Personally, I think both parents have a say you both contributed to making the baby. I wouldn’t want to take the special moment from the love of my life by having my mom or anyone else in the room. I also feel that it’s such a vulnerable moment, uncomfortable moment, beautiful moment and your lives completely change and your relationship and family changes completely. I felt it made my partner and my relationship stronger and the experience was so special together. I couldn’t imagine more people in the room even if it was my mom. But it’s definitely based on relationships women have with their mom I guess. I just think it’s so special with just you two. Baby starts with just you two, should be born with just you two🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ just my thoughts based on my experience.❤

    My first birth I had my husband and my mom, my second birth (home birth) I had my husband and both our moms in the room. I think it depends on your relationship with your mom and what kind of support you're wanting. My mom had all unmedicated births and knew I would need her experience & support for my first - her knowledge was also welcomed by my husband. For my second (once I knew I could do it) I wanted my mom and my mother in law to experience seeing a grandchild being born. My mother in law could only have c-sections and was not present for her own daughters births so I knew she would cherish the experience of a home birth. I loved the experience too of having 3 generations in the room - it's so bonding and I think it only added to the experience my husband and I had.

    If you start consistently wearing chapstick you'll need it and feel the connection when you don't have it. I only need it when I am sick. Other than that I don't touch that mess! That's like I used to feel weird because my husband doesn't wear lotion. But I realized he just doesn't like it on his body. But there are certain points of the year where I kind of make him wear it because his skin needs it and looks like it needs it. Other than that I don't mess with him because some people have texture things and it's just not for them.

    I totally get the whole “3 years and no ring is a red flag thing”. As someone who has been dating for 2 and a half, I can wholeheartedly say I would not see it as a negative thing if I don’t get proposed to by 3 years. Personally, I told him I do not want to get engaged until at least 2 years of dating. I need to make sure we know the most important things about each other and prioritize God in our relationship before marriage (which we have been). Marriage is a really big thing so waiting is not a red flag IMO. But tbh 4 years? I’d be like…what are you waiting for haha. But he’s been hinting at it anyways so this was probably a pointless rant

    I know I’m going to get some grief over this but tall move all the time. What exactly are you looking for that will allow you to set down some actual roots for ur children? They have no stability at all in regards to home. How will they ever make friends. You both are so unsure of what you want but you have 3 kids who need more than just picking and moving every 6 months based on their parents whims. You guys are great parents and it’s obvious you love your kids and each other. But whatever you’re searching for in as far as a home base goes, you need to figure it out and do it soon. Nowhere is going to be absolutely perfect. But for the sake of your children’s mental health find a home and stick to it. They need more than just u guys. They need a community that they can depend on and friends who they can grow with. Especially once they get school age. I love y’all but this is frustrating to watch. I know u have ur reasons but this is a lot.

      I agree. They always seem discontent with where there are like they can’t sit still. They need to plant down some roots. Then they’re always traveling when they do settle in a city for a little bit. It must be hard to have a real community which they kind of complained about in an old podcast episode. That takes effort and time and being in a place long term. It doesn’t matter if their job allows them to, it gives off unstable and unsatisfied.

    • @JasmineYoung-i8d
      @JasmineYoung-i8d 5 месяцев назад +2

      Respectfully, this comment is a bit dramatic with bringing up their children’s mental health. We all love their family but I don’t think you should care enough to let them moving frustrate you. They aren’t even moving they’re taking a month long vacation which they are highly blessed to be able to do. As you said what you’re referring to is mostly important for when they start school which all of their children are very far from.

    I’m kinda surprised that Savannah thought it was crazy that he would
    combat the request of wanting your mom in the room when she found it crazy that a women could not want the father of her child in the room. I personally agreed when she said birth is a tremendous medical procedure and physiological event and a healthy birth is the best outcome. Some people deal with pain the best alone in silence and may not want anyone in the room. Some feel empowered with a cheerleader. Some may be perfectionist and have added tension with an audience their. Some feel better being nurtured, petted, coached, and soothed. No one way is the right way because we are all different and what’s normal toI would encourage every woman to one couple is abnormal to another. Back in the day men would wait in the waiting room to keep the romance alive and women preferred to be soothed by their mother and female tribe. Now the intimacy of couples doing it together has become more common. At the end of the day doing what’s best for the overall health of the birthing mom and their baby through your individual birth story. I personally do better dealing with pain alone and would want my partner in and out; to have the flexibility to request solitude to meditate through the pain without feeling like I’m offending him and the comfort of knowing I still have his respect that I’m trying my best to bring our baby here without complications, especially with the added anxiety surrounded around the first time. At the end of the day many men find a way to bond with their baby regardless if they watched the birth, weather it was because of an emergency c-section, a scheduling issue like deployment, and untimely birth, or something as simple as running to the gift shop to grab a camera and missing it. The goal is a healthy birth and unfortunately life isn’t ideal and maturity is about recognizing when something may not be about you. So weather you need to support her in the room and you don’t want to or support her on the other side of a door you want to be inside remember love is patient, kind, and it doesn’t hold records of wrong doing. Remember men you’re not only supposed to treat you wives as you treat yourself (1 Peter 3:7-8) but also treat them as Jesus did for the church he sacrificed his life for (Ephesians 5:28-33). I know they are loving Christians who do not mean to sound judgmental and neither do I. No hate or tea just honestly a piece of my mentality ✌🏾

Because if you do wear it all the time and then you suddenly stopped wearing it or it's just like using nose spray everyday, eye drops everyday or something like that your body gets used to it and then if you stop using it or you don't have it then let's say your lips will get chapped real bad , hurting and painful to where it changes from wanting to wear it to HAVING to wear it. For the people in the room conversation. The men are not entitled because you’re not the one going through the potential death of having a child. Also, you’re thinking about it in a way that you already had two children but for first time moms that never been in this situation they can choose the support THEY need. Definitely can be a conversation but if you said no I would not listen. It’s your child but it her body going through this.

    There needs to be a specific circumstance for me to want to date a man who has kids, ie the wife died, way too many immediate red flags otherwise.. did yall see even Chance the Rapper got divorced?? I seriously am sickened by how normalized divorce is, and I honestly have a hard no to recommend dating a divorced man. And actually if you want a divorce cool do it, but you should stay single now and not expect more. I could talk about it forever I need to start a podcast with my husband lol

    • @kennethiavail1719
      @kennethiavail1719 5 месяцев назад

      So for clarification purposes lol are you saying that if someone were to be a divorcee, they should stay single and not expect to get married again? Is that what you mean by “expect more?” Also, does your opinion change based on age when it comes to dating someone with kids since the older you get the less likely you are to meet someone without kids?

    • @heybristevens
      @heybristevens 5 месяцев назад

      @@kennethiavail1719 for clarification purposes yes lol if you choose to get divorced for reasons that are outside of something like getting cheated on or death, you’re clearly seen as someone who can’t commit to everyone, and you shouldn’t expect to be seen as on a level playing field. Age doesn’t matter, if you made the horrible decision at age 20 or 40 you’ll reap the consequences

    • @kennethiavail1719
      @kennethiavail1719 5 месяцев назад

      @@heybristevens okay. That’s a hot take girl! lol but I can understand someone being afraid to date someone who has been divorced and I would ask questions to really gauge because I do believe that many things in life are not black and white. Also, when you say horrible decision, are you referring to someone being a single parent as if they committed this horrible thing? I’m just asking because horrible is such a strong word and it implies that a single parent made a horrible decision by choosing not to have an abortion and keep their child.

    • @heybristevens
      @heybristevens 5 месяцев назад

      @@kennethiavail1719 that’s definitely why I said for certain circumstances like their spouse died, or they were cheated on so questions would always get asked firstly of course. And by horrible decision I’m saying getting divorced, kids or not. Idk what you’re implying when it comes to being a single parent vs getting an abortion, that’s not at all what I’m talking about

    • @kennethiavail1719
      @kennethiavail1719 5 месяцев назад

      @@heybristevens well I asked two separate questions regarding dating someone divorced and dating someone with kids. Your answer kind of implied that whether you’re 20 or 40, you still made a horrible decision with consequences so it sounded like to me that you were just kind of saying you made this horrible decision to be a single parent but you just clarified you were speaking on going into the dating market as a divorcee regardless of kids. I feel like if you’re a divorcee with kids then it is likely that you will remarry another divorcee who probably has kids. If God blessed you with a second chance at love, I think those stories can be beautiful.

    Actually my husband got me into wearing lip balm because the truth of the matter is licking your lips dries them up and that causes you to keep kicking them to think you're hydrating them but you're not. Then once I started using lucas paw paw I cant go to sleep without it. It feels like the dessert even though my lips are not chapped either.

    Ehh I feel like the father has the right to see their child being born, their first breath. I understand it’s her body her experience etc., but in reality that’s just as much his experience too, and for a woman to even want to take that experience from their child and partner is just wild. And he would definitely have every right to feel a way about that.

    I think the thing with people dating single parents. You said it would be a red flag if someone didn’t want to date someone with kids. I think it can depend. I would mostly say no because some people just don’t want to be parents right then. They might want to date and have a couple years of being just married without kids so I would understand them not wanting to be with someone. Like if a guy started dating a women and she never said she had kids and then after a couple dates she tell him I can understand him breaking up with her because of that. Sure it should be mostly about the relationship but I also understand not everyone is ready to be a parent. And also for me I think it would depend how many baby mommas that person has and those reasons. If they had a spouse and they died or something happened and they got divorced then sure. But if I wasn’t a Christian and the person I was maybe gonna date had 6 different baby mommas I would really have to think about that and see if that person has changed or gotten to know god or whatever it is because I don’t want to be just another baby momma. With me having kids already I would totally date a guy with kids. But that’s because I have them. If I didn’t idk if I would date a man with kids. But who knows.
