    How much percentage of dividend earned goes to TAX?

    • @FloFinance
      @FloFinance  3 года назад +1

      In Nigeria, there's a 10% withholding tax on dividends which means it's deducted by the company before they pay you dividends.

    Good job. How did you become a finance major? .. instead of oil and gas major. I really like what you are doing.
    Let me disclose this. I am a finance major myself also stockbroker before leaving Naija

    • @FloFinance
      @FloFinance  3 года назад +1

      Me? A finance major? That coming from a stockbroker is a great honour! 🙌🙌 Thank you! I don’t consider myself one as I always say in my disclaimers but I am someone that educates myself on whatever I'm involved in. With 20 years investing in Nigeria, I have learnt a lot. I am self-taught. And to be honest, one does not need to be a finance major/expert to be an investor. I understand enough to be dangerous in choosing the right shares to buy and knowing when to sell off and go somewhere else. Rinse and repeat.
      "Instead" of an oil and gas major? 😂😂😂 Oil exploration is my job and infact the one I regard myself a specialist in but I can't teach it on RUclips. That one is strictly reserved for trainees on the job.

  • @nkoira6841
    @nkoira6841 3 года назад

    Thanks for all these information. I don't have a stock broker, can you recommend one for me?
    And about the shares can l go for Fidelity Bank and Zenith bank? From how much is it interesting to invest? Too many questions for one person 😘😘 Thank you

    • @FloFinance
      @FloFinance  3 года назад +1

      Nko I don't know if you saw the video about getting a stockbroker 👉👇 ruclips.net/video/J1CGDNyi4EM/видео.html you can use the procedure on there to find a stockbroker and contact them by email.
      You can go for Fidelity and Zenith if you wish, the prices of these shares are low now because they are still recovering from the fall during the height of the pandemic so it's a good time to buy for long term investment. And their financial reports for the first half of this year look good. Also as you saw in this video, they pay dividends consistently.
      For how much to invest, I always say, invest as much idle money as you have in your bank account. Usually, any money I will not need in the next few months, I invest it instead of leaving it lying idle in the bank. Once you are earning income, more money will come into your account soon. The more shares of a company you buy, the more you will receive in dividends when they are paid because dividend is calculated on a per share basis.

    Thanks for sharing, but the maths was too much for me to understand 😆, I just want to hear how much I will get if , assuming I deposit like $20 thousand dollars for a year, 😀 thanks 🙏

    • @FloFinance
      @FloFinance  3 года назад

      The thing with investing in shares is that NOBODY can tell you the exact amount you will make in the future, not even asset managers. The dividends are based on the profit for the year, then the board members sit to decide the percentage of the profit that will be paid as dividends.
      The only investments you will know for sure how much you will make are money market investments where you are told the interest at the start of the investment. Then some Agric investments also state the yield from the onset.
      For the calculations 😂, you need it ooo while assessing the companies but once you buy the shares of that company you won't be doing any of that, the dividends will land in your account every year.

    I love it but I want to ask if the dividend are paid monthly or yearly? And also I don’t fully understand how to divide the by percentage how much Dey pay how to ascertain that the stocks you invested in is doing well

    • @FloFinance
      @FloFinance  3 года назад +1

      Some companies pay twice a year: interim and full dividend. Some pay once a year.

  • @innocentadewaleaiyenuro5049

    Hello madam; how much was or highest you invest on a stock.
    And can I invest to earn a good dividend?

    • @FloFinance
      @FloFinance  3 года назад

      The way stocks/shares work is that dividends are paid on a per share basis so the more shares of a company you buy, the more you will receive in dividends whenever the company pays them. If I want to get substantial dividend payments, your investments in shares should run into millions of Naira.
      It is best to go for companies that have a history of paying high dividends and paying them consistently, that is every year. I analyzed a few companies in this video.

    If I have account with a bank, can I buy their share without registering with a broker?

    • @FloFinance
      @FloFinance  3 года назад

      No. The shares part of the bank is a completely separate entity. No link. So you must use a stock broker or an app (which has a registered stock broker backing it). Sorry, just saw this question now.

    The channel that teaches people how to make their money last and work for them has 30K subs but the channel that teaches people how their money will disappear poof, spending it anyhow has more than 600K subs. 🤦🏾‍♂️

      😂🤣😂 bros it doesn't work that way. Consistency is key. This year I have only uploaded 2 videos on this channel. Last year I uploaded a grand total of 3 videos. Even on this channel, my best performing videos are the ones about spending money so there you go!

      @@FloFinance My comment is not about you or how many videos you uploaded. You are providing a service for people to consume. Obviously, you’ll focus more on what brings you attention/money. My comment is about people’s mindset. They will rather consume how to spend money than how to build wealth
