This song is such a great example of why Mamamoo will always be my ult group. They bring so much to the table. "Illella" is a song you can dance to, but it's not lacking in vocals. The textures and layers are masterful! Every time I listen to this, there's something new to discover.
I'm so happy, I love the song, the concept is so refreshing for mamamoo... Whasa's intro was so smooth, Wheein's vocals are very angelic and Solar's voice has the exact power that this song needs. I feel like there is some lack of ambition from their company. The song is cute and catchy but the outfits?? Some story telling?? None! The only MV that remains visually excellent was HiP (Starry Night and Egotistic are also very interesting and add contrast to other kpop MVs). They rely too much on the vocal performance of MMM and dont make new things. I've also seen a lot of fans who complained about the lack of promotion (not using tiktok for example)... Please RWB you need to be more BOLD creating beautiful & interesting sceneries / MVs. 🥲 INVEST MORE AND UPGRADE CAUSE THE QUEENS DESERVE IT

I think MooMoos forget that MAMAMOO are 8 years old girl group. To be fair, if MooMoos want to compare MAMAMOO achievement with other girl group, they should compare with other 3rd generation idol. Put aside Big 3 girl group, I think MAMAMOO achievement for this comeback are good. Who else other than MAMAMOO (8 years old girl group) that can sell nearly 90k total album for first week, getting 8M views in first day, two song chart in Top 10 WW itunes. One thing we need to remember that competition between 4th generation idol more harder since Big 4 company keep making and debut their new group for past few years. So in order to survive in 4th generation idol world, they need to double their efforts by making new record for album sales, digital chart and more. Big advantage for 4th generation idol are they gain new fans more quickly even before they debut or after they debut since people know them through their senior artist which is 2nd or 3rd generation idol. Without their senior reputation, their journey as idol gonna be tough and difficult (like MAMAMOO case). Illella is definitely one of the most unique releases this year in kpop. We don't get many songs with reggaeton influences very often in kpop. Seriously, i couldn't be more proud of Mamamoo. Once again, they have broken all the barriers and have shown yet another side of them with Mic on! I hope we get them many wins this time because Mamamoo clearly deserves it with their diverse music.
I think the only this is, they should've given an hard rap to lead into the dance break. To really solidy the fact they could "break" not just expectations, but anything they wanted. Then hit the dance break, and back to close out the song. Other than that this song really is a total vibe. It's not the boring generic pop formula, and you really can just listen and go. 😌

For some reasons, I keep on remembering Bigbang when I watch Mamamoo's MV and vice versa. Both of them are confident and unique. And they have that mature vibe.
The place they are on the building in this clip is really beautiful and the members' looks and harmony are killing me. I feel like there is some lack of ambition from their company. The song is cute and catchy but the outfits?? Some story telling?? None! The only MV that remains visually excellent was HiP (Starry Night and Egotistic are also very interesting and add contrast to other kpop MVs). They rely too much on the vocal performance of MMM and dont make new things. I've also seen a lot of fans who complained about the lack of promotion (not using tiktok for example)... Please RWB you need to be more BOLD creating beautiful & interesting sceneries / MVs. 🥲 INVEST MORE AND UPGRADE CAUSE THE QUEENS DESERVE IT

I think MooMoos forget that MAMAMOO are 8 years old girl group. To be fair, if MooMoos want to compare MAMAMOO achievement with other girl group, they should compare with other 3rd generation idol. Put aside Big 3 girl group, I think MAMAMOO achievement for this comeback are good. Who else other than MAMAMOO (8 years old girl group) that can sell nearly 90k total album for first week, getting 8M views in first day, two song chart in Top 10 WW itunes. One thing we need to remember that competition between 4th generation idol more harder since Big 4 company keep making and debut their new group for past few years. So in order to survive in 4th generation idol world, they need to double their efforts by making new record for album sales, digital chart and more. Big advantage for 4th generation idol are they gain new fans more quickly even before they debut or after they debut since people know them through their senior artist which is 2nd or 3rd generation idol. Without their senior reputation, their journey as idol gonna be tough and difficult (like MAMAMOO case).
So instead comparing MAMAMOO achievement with 4th generation idol, why not we be more thankful and appreciate that MAMAMOO still active as a group until today although they start to focus more on their solo career lately, but they still want to comeback to their root that grow them to be artist like today. Be proud for everything that we achieve today and let's be better in all aspects for next comeback.

Illella is definitely one of the most unique releases this year in kpop. We don't get many songs with reggaeton influences very often in kpop. Seriously, i couldn't be more proud of Mamamoo. Once again, they have broken all the barriers and have shown yet another side of them with Mic on! I hope we get them many wins this time because Mamamoo clearly deserves it with their diverse music.
