Do you not think that before every race was televised, before internet, track promoters had to hype rivalries to sell tickets? Rusty said how he and DW were getting on the week after their clash at the winston but the promoters would never want to admit that. Also Regan made a great point about in the past drivers were racing to put food on the table and, for some, a wrecked race car could mean not racing the following week, obviously that is not the case for nowadays drivers.
