Hey Kevin! You are looking at one of the very first Xmaxx's to be shown on youtube. This truck was bought on 12/23/15. Yes I have upgraded This truck with the 8s upgrade kit! I love it! Thanks for watching!
Thanks a lot I appreciate it and I'm glad that you enjoyed the demonstration of the TSM. I'm not really on the forms that much but feel free to post and share on Traxxas forums and spread the word about EVERYDAY RC!
I personally like the truck. Its also good to see an experienced RC'er taking a "moderately sensible" approach & giving us an insight into what will hopefully be a long term ownership experience (instead of just over gearing the crap out of it & burning out the electrics!) Great upload Chris. ☺
+Steve Moon Thanks Steve and I appreciate that you feel the same way I do! IMO I think people in this Hobby are getting spoiled and losing their gratitude when you think about how far this hobby has come in the past 20-30 years looking back on the way things were and how far technology has advanced since then! This is an amazing MT and piece of technology! It may not go 50-60mph out of the box but its not meant to be a speed demon! after driving this truck I fully understand what traxxas was going for and I appreciate this truck for what it is!!!!
+EVERYDAY RC I agree... Started out in the Hobby in the 80's & its so much more accessible & diverse than it was back in my day. To be honest - its not perfect. Nor is it for everyone - some have made valid observations (both positive & negative) but one thing it has done - one thing that Traxxas has always done extremely well, is shine a spot light of interest, on the hobby in general & that can only be a good thing. Keep the uploads coming... Your an true Ambassador. Kudos my friend. ☺
I have heard a lot of negative things about the X-MAXX but after watching your video and listening to your honest opinion I still can't wait to get mine, I really liked the close up airtime seeing that beast come off the ramp was Cool, Thanks for sharing your running video and not being negative and yes I know other people have there own opinion but Hey I'm a TRAXXAS Fan and I think the X-MAXX is Cool.
+Shayen RC Enthusiast. Thanks a lot and it good to hear you have an open mind! I appreciate that you feel the same way I do! IMO I think people in this Hobby are getting spoiled and losing their gratitude when you think about how far this hobby has come in the past 20-30 years looking back on the way things were and how far technology has advanced since then! Roman soldier. Iv been playing with rc cars since i was a little kid. Never had a traxxas but always wanted one they are absolutely crazy would love to have one
From the looks of it I think it was a successful first run you look like you were enjoying yourself I can't wait to run mine The day I got mine I left town for the holidays me and my wife headed home now tomorrow it's on thanks for the video look forward to watching more
Thanks a lot man it must be tough being away knowing that you have an xMaxx sitting at home! Well thanks for watching and all your support and keep watching
Good job on the video, looks like it can definitely take a beating! I would get one in a heartbeat if I was in the big-scale market. Now traxxas just needs to revamp the X/T-maxxes.
Just feel'n in out...? That was a full on bash session! I thought something was going to snap on those jumps. Good stuff. I only run nitro so the I appreciate you taking the time to explain a little bit about the LiPos. I need to get some electrics going for the kids. As we know, nitro runs can end abruptly. I need something reliable to get the kids involved.
Thanks for watching and I'm glad that you enjoyed the video! No better time to beat the hell out of it then right out of the box! I hear you I was a big-time nitro guy back in the day but now these electrics have taken over. I still have one nitro my collection been sitting on the shelf for years ready to go but with all these electrics I don't have time for the nitro although I still love it and I'm pretty good with it. I would say the best vehicle for you to get into electrics is the slash 4 x 4 ultimate LC G. By far the most durable truck in my collection. Put a lot of upgrades into it but now it is bulletproof and I can go to the track and go out bashing with no maintenance and have a Tonna fun with it can run 2-3s lipos!
Having read about it a fair bit on the internetz, and despite it's supposed issues. I like this truck. Fairly sound design and when they break, from what I've seen it's been a pretty hefty knock to do it. Cool vid too, looks like you had fun.
Great video once again Chris. I really enjoyed yo testing everything that was said the truck could do. I would like to see what can be accomplished with higher MAh batteries. Great work can't wait top see what you come up with NEXT.
What engines and batteries do you usually use everyday RC I recently got a rustler vxl and was wondering what things u recommend I should upgrade and what to upgrade first
+Mark Hernandez Thanks for watching and I use MAXAMPS batteries mostly but there are plenty of good battery companies out there. Traxxas makes good batteries and so does venom,SMC,Gens ACE, Turnigy! The list goes on and on! Lo0ok in to getting RPM plastics for your Rustler First
Love it,, wanting to move up from my beloved hopped up rustler vxl to this x maxx, a bit expensive but seems worth it. Have u had to replace or upgrade many parts running 6s and is it fairly easy to work on?? Thanx for the vid. Very informative.
Ive owned my XMAXX for a year now and the truck is stock. If you jump and bash like me you will be looking at Cracked Wheels,1 broken bulkhead,1 broken shock shaft, Original body is destroyed but still use it. Just checked out the ring and bevel gears which are straight cut and they have minimal wear! I love this truck for its durability and lack of maintain ace.
7:49 Help me human! Haha anyway nice video and great intro. I'm surprised nothing but the bumper mount broke. I'd love to have one of these things to have an absolute blast with, especially in the changing weather. #romansoldier ! Smile more!
Very similar to my Summit after I put a 6s sensored brush-less kit with a giro fitted, the steering did the same thing and it stopped the truck spinner out, I am useless controlling a brushless truck with excessive power, if I wasnt donutting in circles it just flipped at any speed if you weren't careful, It made it easy to control. I made it so I could lower the suspension by altering the linkage so it handled like a Revo so I have the best of both worlds ;-)
Awesome video Mr. Chris, You are one brave brother letting that Xmaxx fry over your head lol but great information bro. I wasn't exactly sold on getting one but just like anything else that's new coming out there's going to be some issues so i will be getting one!!!
That was some great jumping. You put a torture test on that truck and it still help up. I am looking into buying a ramp in the future for jumping but I don't think I'm going to buy those plastic ones. I found me a all metal folding portable skate park ramp that is far wider and higher than those plastic ramps but the only thing is it costs around 250 bucks but at least it is portable. 🖒
I'm somewhat new to rc things, I bought a 2WD Traxxas Stampede about 3 years ago, and just now got good batteries for it, and have been racing it non-stop for the past 2-3 days. About a few hours ago I learned how to lower it, so I just finished it. I've always been a fan of your videos, and I'm amazed at how many rc's you have. It would be a dream to have that many to me. Do you have any tips/ideas with what else to do with my Stampede?
+River Mullinax Thanks for watching and being a fan! Its great to hear you are enjoying the hobby! The Stampede is a great Starter MT. All I can say is keep driving it and youll know what to upgrade! Start with what breaks first and then work on customization!
EVERYDAY RC Thanks for responding! Yeah, I've broke a few shocks already and have to replace those. Looking at some performance metals ones. Thanks again.
Hey Buddy, Great 1st look at the X-MAXX! interesting to hear what you thought after actually running it. I am loving mine and still testing it as well. I agree that the auto-righting feature is more of a gimmick than a real feature... most RC guys know how to do this with a monster truck anyway without a special button for it. lol. but it's still kind of cool. As always another great video of cool RC models from EVERYDAY RC! Thanks for sharing with everyone. Happy New Year man!!!
+jetlag2222 Thanks man! I am really glad to hear you feel the way I do and appreciate this Beast for what it is and understand what Traxxas was trying to go for! It saddens me that people ears and eyes close as soon as they see 30MPH. Well all I can say Is I am totally happy with this truck and cant wait to go out and have more fun with it!
+EVERYDAY RC Well it makes perfectly logical sense if you are an engineer... the Brushless E-REVO is aprox 1/2 the weight and it can go 65-70 with the exact same power system specs. So the X-MAXX weighs aprox 2 times the E-REVO and they geared it to aprox 1/2 the speed. So the same power system has similar torque for a much bigger truck. Using almost identical motor and ESC specs. Personally I think they did a great job. 28-35 mph is very fast for a huge truck like this and I am quite satisfied with the speed. And there is nothing stopping anyone from putting in bigger motors and higher gear ratios if they want. I'm sure in a few months we will see this truck doing 60 or 70 in a youtube video. lol. For myself I am currently very satisfied with the power and speed of the X-MAXX. It's a great truck! it's like having a super sized E-MAXX or Stampede 4x4. :)
lol I told you it would happen. Makes no sense at all to drive this monster truck at 60 mph - it's totally uncontrollable except in a straight line, but that won't stop them. Hey I'm all good with it. Should make for some epic wreck videos :)
+Oloughlin2777 Its a great truck and I dont think there is another truck this big in its price range! its your choice do some research! theres tons of trucks out there some that dont even cost this much!
Great video, I'm not sure if you bought the fire extinguisher because of my last comment. but it's a good idea, personally that's the only traxxas I would ever consider to get. can you correct the truck in mid air? that just doesn't work on 1/5th scales. about the under power issue for me on MT it's not bad because you normally jump and take it to a urban location not just a open fields. I'm not sure if anyone has said this but it's fantastic that you reply to you're fans/ viewers.
+behemothfan666 Thompson Thanks for watching once again and I do remember your comment about the extinguisher but I had that in mind even before I got the truck! I think the truck is fun as heck and as long as you keep an eye non temps you can have a days long fun with this truck! I agree take this truck somewhere it deserves!
+Jason Perrin Tough choice! The xmaxx has size and durablity! The XXl2e has speed looks and durability! Its tough! You wont be dissapointed in either! Its your choice
+select20 No car should break after a few hours. I just bought a Helion dominus 10tr as my first hobby grade RC. To me it was a good decision because a truggy seems like the best middle ground between offroad racing and bashing vehicles. It's only $200 as a ready to run model and if you spend another $80 or so on a 2s lipo and speed charger it will bring it's speed close to 30mph. I bent the frame after a couple days because I ran it dead on into a metal pole for a chain link fence at full speed. but most rc cars will get ruined by that. I've given it some really brutal tumbles though and haven't broken anything doing what I would consider normal use. The good thing is that if you have a hobby town usa store near you they car every part for that car. It's their brand. It wasn't to hard to replace the chassis and get it running again. I'd say go for the dominus 10tr. It's priced low. Replacement parts are readily available. It's got plenty of power out of the box if you put a decent battery in (realistically anything above 35mph on an rc car is only good for going in a straight line anyway). I really like this car. I bet you would too. But look around. read forums and stuff.
+Austin “PaintballPlayer” Gulick Thanks for watching! Using a hero 3 if I do that I sacrifice 1080p. Its all good! Video quality always getting better!
I wonder if rpm, is working on a bumper? the same goes for castle creations. the self righting, seems like an injured animal. trying to escape but can't escape. other then that it looks really fun
+powcar91 Im sure there will be plenty of upgrades by AM companies very soon! Yes the self righting worked but took some time to orient it self! Still pretty cool to see!
Hey dude...really like your videos plus you've got the GoPro filming down!! I'm torn between the X Maxx and the XXL2 electric. I want speed but I also want a huge monster truck!! Which one would you go for??
Cool and honest unafraid, but aware approach. But the X-Maxx's dimension are for a 1/7scale. Going by the wheelbase, listed as by Traxxas 18.92 in, it represents a truck with 132.44in. This is about typical for a full sized double or crew cab short bed truck from Ford, GM, or RAM that would be turned into a monster truck. At 1/6 it would represent and truck with a 113.52in wheelbase. The total length, as listed by Traxxas, is 29.84in at 1/7 that is 208.88in (again typical of a full-sized truck. Or at 1/6 is 179.07in Looking at the cab of the included body, the X-Maxx is meant to be a 1/7scale. However, no matter which way you argue it, the thing IS the biggest electric monster truck on the today.
+DocWolph You Got it man I had an aboslute Blast driving this Bad Boy! Biggest Electric MT to date!!!!!I appreciate that you feel the same way I do!
+EVERYDAY RC As best I can tell, I still need to get one, the X-Maxx is proportionately as powerful and E-Maxx was when it first came out with a brushed motor and NiMH batteries. That was back in [edit: 2001]. I thought it was longer ago. The X-Maxx will only get better. But 50+mph? Not with any components I can find available today. I'll settle for a confident and easily repeatable 40mph. If anything Traxxas has hit a reset button and now we are going to have to build back up. This ought to open up some interesting possibilities.
Chris tel me I drove mine today 4 the first time it's like driving a real car unbelievable I love this truck. and yes you are right the motor did get hot but I was driving it hard. my self righting did have a problem with righting the truck. but it is fun traxas did take it to the next level.:)
verry interesting.... throw an xl2 8s in there man.... it needs it !! ahhh what am i telling you for you know what time it is ( ;p great vid once again chris. cheers
+AZTECeagle1st LOL I hear you but its a portable ramp I use for all m y trucks and I had a shady setup but made it all the more exciting! Thanks a lot for watching and i'm glad you enjoyed!
Right on Chris. Put that bad boy through the ringer. Like the Xo-1 the XMaxx is a very sexy RC. I have read some of the lows of the XMaxx but I think you will get that from most rcs out there. Time for hop ups.
Love your cars that fact that some one could make a rc car get that kind of speed should get an award it's just brilliant
+Ladarius Ryans Thanks a lot! RC is fun@!
Have you tried the 8s maxx? Great fun!!
Hey Kevin! You are looking at one of the very first Xmaxx's to be shown on youtube. This truck was bought on 12/23/15. Yes I have upgraded This truck with the 8s upgrade kit! I love it! Thanks for watching!
Way to make a first run indeed! Nice work!. Thanks for the review afterwards as well.
+Radio Control Patrol Thanks for watching and no problem at all! Im glad you enjoyed the video!
Best video Ive seen yet demonstrating the TSM of the XMAXX. You should post that to the forums where people can comment. Awesome run and filming.

absolutely amazing video Chris !!
+RC Johnny ThanksJohnny! I had a blast bro!

Those Lipo's are in series, correct? From the looks of the battery harness it is. So it's really running on 6S.
Yep

Thanks Josh! I appreciate it bro! This was one of the first xmaxx’s to be seen on RUclips.
OMG so jealous. I can't wait to join the club!
+UrbanRcLA Thanks Reed! This truck is a Beast!!!! You wont be disappointed!

I got mine 4days ago and its just killing me waiting on a new body b4 i rally so sweet bro!
WooW WooW GOOD VIDEO ;)
Thanks for watching and the support!~
I agree take this truck somewhere it deserves!
nice vid mate, that xmaxx looks sweet 😊
+South Coast rc Thanks a lot mate!!! Good to see you!
What do you like better between this and your last xxl2 E

Hownlong das the batteries last
If you are wanting to get into this hobby, where do you start? Like what rc would be good for a beginner, but not break after a few hours?
Traxxas Rustler VXL $160 35-40mph with a $5 spur geàr!!!!
+select20 Slash 2wd or 4wd

I wonder if rpm, is working on a bumper? the same goes for castle creations. the self righting, seems like an injured animal. trying to escape but can't escape. other then that it looks really fun
+powcar91 Im sure there will be plenty of upgrades by AM companies very soon! Yes the self righting worked but took some time to orient it self! Still pretty cool to see!

+Rc Bashup Thansk a lot for watching!
I was wondering where you purchased your ramps I have been wanting to get one for my X maxx as well to use at the park
Kryptonics at a sporting goods store
Cool and honest unafraid, but aware approach.
But the X-Maxx's dimension are for a 1/7scale. Going by the wheelbase, listed as by Traxxas 18.92 in, it represents a truck with 132.44in. This is about typical for a full sized double or crew cab short bed truck from Ford, GM, or RAM that would be turned into a monster truck. At 1/6 it would represent and truck with a 113.52in wheelbase.
The total length, as listed by Traxxas, is 29.84in at 1/7 that is 208.88in (again typical of a full-sized truck. Or at 1/6 is 179.07in
Looking at the cab of the included body, the X-Maxx is meant to be a 1/7scale. However, no matter which way you argue it, the thing IS the biggest electric monster truck on the today.
+DocWolph You Got it man I had an aboslute Blast driving this Bad Boy! Biggest Electric MT to date!!!!!I appreciate that you feel the same way I do!
+EVERYDAY RC
As best I can tell, I still need to get one, the X-Maxx is proportionately as powerful and E-Maxx was when it first came out with a brushed motor and NiMH batteries.
+DocWolph the first e-maxx was shipped in 2001
*****
editted.
DocWolph p0ppppppp0ppp
Nice run!! Seems to be that nobody recording in HD today lol
+goldfishshooter Thanks! I guess 1080P is not good enough for you?

EVERYDAY RC it was in 360p maybe my browser didn't load properly.

Chris tel me I drove mine today 4 the first time it's like driving a real car unbelievable I love this truck. and yes you are right the motor did get hot but I was driving it hard. my self righting did have a problem with righting the truck. but it is fun traxas did take it to the next level.:)

Yeah man this was a good bash session and a good maiden run With this beast
Nice had one out on 8s today
+Rawsteele Nice XL2? Its gotta be fast! Bashing it on 8s will surely send it to the moon!
Very Nice !!
+thunder19301 Thanks Thunder!
Right on Chris. Put that bad boy through the ringer. Like the Xo-1 the XMaxx is a very sexy RC. I have read some of the lows of the XMaxx but I think you will get that from most rcs out there. Time for hop ups.
+custom fast rc Thanks Brian! This is how you really get a feel for a vehicle! Especially a monster truck!
badazz bro!
+mumforddale1 Thanks tat!
Traxxas needs to make a nitro version on this truck
And they need to come out with a newer bigger trx engine too
And one with decent monster truck tires. Because these tires just are way to thin and make it look more like a trophy truck then a monster truck IMO.
Aaron Fisher AGUSTIN
in Denmark, if you want an X-Maxx 8s with the 8s batteries it costs about $2000!!!
Wait, is there more than one that caught on fire??
