Yoimiya is the true Archon of Inazuma, who understands the balance between Eternity and the ephemeral. The nation isn't a place, it's the people. The fireworks slips are eternity, memories that outlive their original owners, but they also only last for an instant. Ei only caught up to all those concepts recently, thanks to Traveler and Yae. That's why she gets depicted as a toddler in fanart. Yoimiya always understood them.

Ikr. The people of Inazuma adore her. It's not that apparent in her story quest but once you read her voicelines and character story, you'll be blown away by the sheer amount of love and compassion she has for those around her. One of the reasons why I think the Tenryou Commission couldn't take her vision or confronted her for aiding and hiding fugitives (who else has the ability to produce fireworks as decoys) was because if they did, most of the Inazuman residents would've protested strongly to her arrest. I really think full on riots might've broken out on the streets if they tried to do anything to her, and all of that is because Yoimiya is absolutely loved by the people of Narukami. She takes the time to get to know each and every single one of her customers, helps those in need in any way she can, and has captured the hearts of the children all across Inazuma -which indirectly resulted in their parents giving her their trust. And that's probably why she had so much plot armor going for her in the archon quest.
It's worth noting that Ei's obsession with eternity is the actual aberration in the story. A lot of Japanese themes revolve around the idea of the ephemeral (ex. mono no aware, the sakura motif, etc.). Both Yoimiya's man-made fireworks and Raiden Makoto's divine lightning embody the idea of transcience, and Ei is only able to overcome her grief and move on when she rejects her eternal ideal and fights against the Raiden Shogun.
thats why i felt like them adding story quest as part of the main story was genius!! it plants a seed in your mind that eternity isn’t in unchanging stasis, but the constant remembrance and flow of change

Ngl I got a little teary hearing you talk about Yoimiya. For myself, I find Ayaka's appeal to be somewhat enigmatic. This is somewhat odd to say because she is probably the single most important character in the game for me. She is graceful and pretty and kind, yes, but she ends up coming off as the most "generic waifu" of the bunch. She's basically perfect, as you said, which some people find boring. I get that. The strange thing, though, is that I have never once felt attracted to Ayaka. She isn't as interesting as Ningguang or Beidou, as stern and statuesque as Sara, and I would argue her design isn't as beautiful as any of them (although I adore her color palette). But nevertheless, I felt myself being drawn to her character. I loved her consummate grace, the dedication to her family and people, the pure snow white love she holds for those important to her. She is simple; a princess with great weight upon her shoulders who wishes to be understood for who she is rather than the role she plays, while also coming to realize that the role she plays is not a separate part of her like she used to believe but rather as much a part of her as her desire to just be "Ayaka". And that is her beauty; her beauty is that she *is* just "Ayaka", and that alone is enough to shoulder the weight of her world. I eventually came to realize what it was; I harbored no romantic feelings or t h i r s t y thoughts towards the lady - no, I was inspired by her. I wanted, and still want, to be more like her in more ways than one. I want to be able to shoulder the weight of not only my world, but the weight of the worlds of others, with beauty and grace. I want to have people in my life who accept me for who I am. And I, a tall and portly 25 year old AMAB, experiencing the strongest form of gender envy I have ever had, decided that one day I would like to be able to look a bit more like Ayaka if the mood so took me. Ayaka is vanilla, but vanilla is the most popular flavor for a reason; it is simple but effective, and can take many accent flavors upon itself to the taste of those consuming it. Totally agree. When she first released I remember thinking she was kinda bland and I had no desire to pull her. Playing her story quest flipped some kind of switch in me. Like you said, I don't find her attractive, I'm not thirsty over her at all. But the thought of her made me feel so warm inside and it felt so pure somehow. Immediately spent my sizeable savings on her and had no regrets since. She's just. Sweet. Idk.

exactlyy i started because of him, and FINALLY somebody has a tier list like this and recognises that this man IS the prettiest genshin character but I like him for more than that- I like his personality and I love his backstory. people don't acknowledge him much, but we only know half of what he's been through and that half plus the strong guesses we've got of the other is so much, so much suffering.

Fun story, I've had the exact opposite experience with Diluc where I absolutely could not stand him until the standard banner shoved him down my throat and now I'm emotionally attached to Dead Eyes McFlame Hair and his equally dead-eyed fish sword… I also can't really relate but listening to the married to Yoimiya future tangent sparked a lot of joy all the same!

In case of Ayaka, I want to correct something . Cryo characters are opposite of perfection. Ayaka as an example is not prenaturally gifted nor she is perfection . She is same as Yoimiya in her childhood until the fandago terror happened. Female Snow characters are always considered " bland" because they put a mask , their words feels like something robotic.In her story quest , She didnt relied on Traveler or anything ( i dont think she relied on anyone ) to change her path from her mother's path which is she blindly following till now. She is not perfect or anything . She will just show the mask of Shirasagi Himegimi which people make it as a Princess
Got the same feeling from her, especially the idle line thinking of herself as greedy for enjoying idle moments. (Plus she’s not freak’n harassing you for standing still, lol. Though “blade” spam comes close.) I didn’t like her model much tbh, but after pulling her as my first 5* and doing her story I found her a pretty decent execution of the “dutiful character acting their station.” And the friendship she builds with the traveler seems genuine. In contrast, Kokomi bugs the heck out of me. A bit due to the voice, a bit because of the strategy angle (not connected), but she felt very... off. She also reminded me a bit too much of anime about rebellions. Some of those can be very good, but many kind of give up logical consistency for the sake of theme. Anyways... yeah. I like Ayaka. Especially because freeze spam is fun and it’ll be cool once I get Kazuha to double down on the samurai aesthetic.

Regarding Ei, show people any of the archons and ask them to pick them out from the others e.g. I'd of guessed Xiao is the anemo archon for example. However still hoping we get her weekly boss form as a skin (Minus the hands)
As for geo, tbh i didnt think zhongli would be the archon tbh. When i first saw him, he looks more like a politician/ governor, but ningguang, i thought she was the geo goddess, because of how elegant she looked plus the tattoo on her thigh i thought it was some mark or insignia of being an archon/ supernatural being.

I agree, Zhongli represents the best of Chinese culture and because of that he fulfills an important role of representation, especially when Chinese is often associated with undesirable qualities (i.e. cheaply made goods or a global virus). He also has nice assets 😉
To cry when acting I think about that time I dug my father's grave. I've experimented with Genshin Impact a lil' bit, and pulled Diluc on the second wish, so I stopped playing because that meant I basically beat the game. So.. I don't know much about Genshin. But good video! Love your energy.
Everyone has a special place for their first 5 star…Um, special indeed….As a Kaeya main my first 5 star was Diluc ☹️Fortunately, my immense disappointment didn’t last long. Call it luck or call it fate…..because on my very next pull I got Kaeya constellation. I literally have Kaeya next to Diluc in my banner history 😅
I actually had my boyfriend (who knows nothing about genshin) guess who the god of thunder was among all the electro users and he pointed to fischl and keqing, adding “idk none of them look like gods to me” and i was very much like same, id would have pointed to yae too, but just cause i know her, and the tails and the mysticism around her, cause if you look just at her model, she looks even like an elementless character, her model doesn’t really scream electro, but i agree with you in choosing her as the electro archon
Eula is my favourite character and I honestly think her character writing is one of the best mostly because I am that type of person and I can relate Eula as a character is one of the best tsundere I've encountered...a unique take on a pure tsundere character Her posh and snobby act that she puts up is very much an emotional shield from those that had ridiculed and hurt her...so she always keeps up her guard at all times...even amongst friends Like to Jean...she always says like "that gunnhildr girl hmph... I'll have my revenge" which is her way of showing gratitude and loyalty to her but in a way where she doesn't have to let her emotional guard down in fear that she might get stabbed through the heart again by someone Once we have a better relationship with eula she starts to open up more and we can see that she's rather playful and hella dorky...and that she cares more than anyone for those who've essentially took her in and given her love

The SS family is 100% Zhongli as the calm and composed dad, Barsibatos as the sassiest mom in town, the kind that pranks her children all the time, Gorou as the elder, "must-be-the-example", Xiao as the 2nd eldest "leave me alone dad this is not a phase", Kazuha as the middle, calm but eager and then there's the youngest being Qiqi, that on her own contains all the cuteness and purity of the world in her hands and the rest of the family protects with nails and teeth

I AGREE WITH THE DILUC THING, I lost the 50/50 on the Venti Banner to Diluc, and as much as I hate him, the little investment required to build him in combat is pretty good
Ahhhhh the fact that both Venti and Chongyun were both in the top two tiers makes my heart feel so happy, they tied for my fav characters. I love the lore, the playability with them and just every aspect. And I a side bonus I get to call them my mentally ill little men. I also love yoymia who is my second fav. She just is so sweet and she reminds me of my best friend
this hurt me as a Diluc and Eula main 🥲 I do wish they'd make Diluc's hair the right length and upgrade the floof like newer characters have but... maybe with a new skin. As for Eula, i didn't really find anything wrong with her portrayal or storytelling? Her quest gave us lore about her family, about her, about the Fatui getting into Mondstadt in the first place. She uses her demeanor as a coping mechanism/shield, takes control of encounters because she is used to the way people treat her--and they DO actually treat her that way. Even amicable Thoma just says you can't trust her based on her name alone, no room for growth or her to be different. her behavior is very "i know people will make fun of me for *insert trait here*, so i'll do it myself first" just with her coldness/vengeance/etc that people attribute to her solely because of her clan. as for other quest related personality things, she was trying to teach us aristocratic etiquette despite us being "lowly" and her not. she couldn't even break that training that was instilled in her to act "lower" than her clan taught her to believe she is for us to get an idea of how to act. i genuinely love her storytelling thus far and feel it's a shame she's so misunderstood/people still want to cancel her for "being a slave owner" (not you obviously, but some people STILL say this???)
I agree her playstyle and constellations are great, and I also love her look. But her English voiceover COMPLETELY kills the entire character for me and I'm so sad about it. And it's not like I can just switch to a different language, I've literally played the whole game in English and know each of my favorite characters by their English voices, so that's out of the question. Not trying to hate on the VA either, she's a fine actress, but I just can't handle the accent choice.

If I didn't know Genshin and someone asked me which Inazuman was the archon, I would straight up say Ayaka. She's got that armored look, that aura of perfection, and the voice. The soft spoken one who downs enemy with a single slash. (Of course, that turns out to be Ei but like I said, if I was clueless about Genshin.) Ei would be the OP general who'd take down whole armies by herself. No way Yae would be the archon, she gives too much "head priestess" vibes (not surprising since that's exactly what she is). This tier-list video was rather entertaining. Not a fan of general meta tier-lists but ones based on personal preference are another story. 😏
When character in-game models before Inazuma came out were leaked, I thought the Electro Archon was Yae. Yae looked like the Archon to me, I was shocked when it turned out to be Ei
as the #1 sucrose simp in the world, who has watched almost every tier list and saw her get c,d, and f tier, i am suprised that someone actually puts her in s tier. finally.
Based on this tier list, I'm gonna say Ying is obviously Team Anemo (same girl, same) and just by the numbers her least favorite element is Electro. As an Ei stan and someone who mained Beidou very early on in my Genshin journey, I am offended...however, yeah it is admittedly not the most poppin' element presently. The spread of preference by element seems to go: Anemo, Geo, Cryo, Pyro, Hydro, Electro. By weapon, Sword is tied with Claymore as the winner with the Bow unsurprisingly coming in last since Ying can't Bow. The spread of weapon preference by character goes: Sword, Claymore, Polearm, Catalyst, Bow. I'll point out that Polearm is also very nearly tied with the two winners, so most of what we can determine about this is that Ying doesn't like Catalysts or Bows which, like was mentioned, Ying likes to brawl. So hey, no surprises or upsets really, the data is true to the takes. That's kind of comforting, right? I may have built a simple spreadsheet to determine this, the results of which were slightly skewed at first because certain elements and weapons just have more representatives. I tried to account for the variance by dividing the points earned for each category by the number of representatives. ...I dunno, doing a little data analysis can be fun. Please don't judge me too harshly...
I laughed so much during this :D I truly love how people have such different favs in this game! I feel like there is something loveable or interesting about all of them but with some characters you just click! I remember that one of my first pulls was a double 5 star (never happened again) with Keqing and Qiqi and I had both of them on my team for such a long time and they look so good next to each other, so they always have a special place in my heart! ♥

Idk but Razor has been my comfort character since before I got him. When I was new to the game like at version 1.1, I was checking he character archive and saw my boy with his wolf stand. I still remember that time lmao so dramatic- but I still main him to this day. Tho unfortunately for him I suck at artifact farming and his dmg is still not as good but I just can't remove him from my main team 😭😭😭 He's my first triple crowned character and my second/last is Kazuha xD goes to show they're special to me :'>
I also have a special attachment to my first 5* (Klee was my first 5*). I absolutely REFUSED to replace no matter what friends said cause she took me so far but ended up replacing her after obtaining Hu Tao cause her play style suits me (I refuse to heal even if my hp is VERY low) and I luv her design.
I feel you on Childe on many parts, cause my opinion of him changes every. fucking. day. Like one day I'm gonna be like "ew stinky fatui guy", the next I'm gonna be like "actually he's pretty fun" and then go into a whole "ok but his such an interesting and complex character, that I hope Mihoyo doesn't just kill off, cause he has so many potential and I want him to be my bro". Small suggestion on the stream setup, since Ying wears glasses, the current ring light reflects on certain angel, recommend two elgato key light air on the left and right, giving you better control on the light source instead of just head on. Thanks for the great content and I won't cancel you lol.

About Ayaka: I think Mihoyo did a lot of research and they tried to create her story with a typical oriental romance theme: a secret, ambiguous love/feeling between a young boy and a young girl that never have been spoken before it ends. Such stories often evoke tender feelings and long lasting regrets. I 100% agree on the Yoimiya part. Raiden and Yelan are my visual eye candy, but Yoimiya is the one i would marry from the spot, because shes so ... wow. You would never feel sad because you have her around and just be happy with her

Seriously, ever since I pulled Ei, I keep doing back/front design comparisons cause from the back she DRIPS majesty, status, glory, power and all but from the front.....she looks.....lackluster. Didn't think I'd ever feel so conflicted about character design but here we are lmao
i actually have a soft spot not for 5* but for first 4* (aka kaeya, lisa and amber + traveller as special guest who i like the same). I give them all the the best artifacts and weapons and still play them even if i have many objectively stronger 5*. Also thank you for xinyan because her personality and visual is dope and gameplay IS fun. And i think most of the 4* underrated (even if they are not, i just want more respect for them because they bring too much joy for me haha) Otherwise it was interesting to watch! It's always entertaining and funny to see how people see the same characters and why they think they're cool or not so cool. The phase "the beauty in the eyes of the watcher" is shine much more because sometime little details, personal traits or even the time when you get the character can change drastically the opinion you have about them. And for someone some characters are the lovely but for someone else the same characters are mean to be perished (for example i will yeet xinqui with yae from highest cliff in any moment but for you they're s tier). I am concerned at how our thought process regarding Diluc is so similar. How is this even possible? I used to look forward to getting Diluc so much and was ecstatic when I first lost 50/50 to him. Literally a week after I raised him I was ready to throw him off a cliff. AND I DID. I got C1 Diluc on Hu Tao's rerun and tossed him off Cape Oath. Twice. I built a square prison of walls for him in my teapot and kept a large rock with a tea table on top next to his enclosure, then unceremoniously kicked him the hell out of there when he got to friendship 10. Got him C2 on Ayato's banner and screamed bloody murder, swearing to throw him off all the high places in the Chasm. Didn't keep that promise though. At this point I'm just tired. Rebuilt him with my 100% mid Crimson set and his godforsaken Gravestone. He's on standby for whenever I need Mond talent books, and that's basically it. I am however considering making a really pretty burial site for him in my teapot once maintenance ends. Might as well. He can have his little flower patch of death next to the floating garden I made for my kings and queens. It'll be a pretty flower patch. I just love to hate him at this point. Sorry for the unhinged essay.
Update. He's C3 now thanks to Kazuha's banner. Something in me broke and I bought his skin and decided to level him to 90 and crown him out of rage. Idk what brand of madness this is.

Yoimiya is the true Archon of Inazuma, who understands the balance between Eternity and the ephemeral. The nation isn't a place, it's the people. The fireworks slips are eternity, memories that outlive their original owners, but they also only last for an instant. Ei only caught up to all those concepts recently, thanks to Traveler and Yae. That's why she gets depicted as a toddler in fanart. Yoimiya always understood them.

Ikr. The people of Inazuma adore her. It's not that apparent in her story quest but once you read her voicelines and character story, you'll be blown away by the sheer amount of love and compassion she has for those around her.
One of the reasons why I think the Tenryou Commission couldn't take her vision or confronted her for aiding and hiding fugitives (who else has the ability to produce fireworks as decoys) was because if they did, most of the Inazuman residents would've protested strongly to her arrest. I really think full on riots might've broken out on the streets if they tried to do anything to her, and all of that is because Yoimiya is absolutely loved by the people of Narukami. She takes the time to get to know each and every single one of her customers, helps those in need in any way she can, and has captured the hearts of the children all across Inazuma -which indirectly resulted in their parents giving her their trust. And that's probably why she had so much plot armor going for her in the archon quest.
It's worth noting that Ei's obsession with eternity is the actual aberration in the story.
A lot of Japanese themes revolve around the idea of the ephemeral (ex. mono no aware, the sakura motif, etc.).
Both Yoimiya's man-made fireworks and Raiden Makoto's divine lightning embody the idea of transcience, and Ei is only able to overcome her grief and move on when she rejects her eternal ideal and fights against the Raiden Shogun.
thats why i felt like them adding story quest as part of the main story was genius!! it plants a seed in your mind that eternity isn’t in unchanging stasis, but the constant remembrance and flow of change

For myself, I find Ayaka's appeal to be somewhat enigmatic. This is somewhat odd to say because she is probably the single most important character in the game for me. She is graceful and pretty and kind, yes, but she ends up coming off as the most "generic waifu" of the bunch. She's basically perfect, as you said, which some people find boring. I get that.
The strange thing, though, is that I have never once felt attracted to Ayaka. She isn't as interesting as Ningguang or Beidou, as stern and statuesque as Sara, and I would argue her design isn't as beautiful as any of them (although I adore her color palette). But nevertheless, I felt myself being drawn to her character. I loved her consummate grace, the dedication to her family and people, the pure snow white love she holds for those important to her.
She is simple; a princess with great weight upon her shoulders who wishes to be understood for who she is rather than the role she plays, while also coming to realize that the role she plays is not a separate part of her like she used to believe but rather as much a part of her as her desire to just be "Ayaka". And that is her beauty; her beauty is that she *is* just "Ayaka", and that alone is enough to shoulder the weight of her world.
I eventually came to realize what it was; I harbored no romantic feelings or t h i r s t y thoughts towards the lady - no, I was inspired by her. I wanted, and still want, to be more like her in more ways than one. I want to be able to shoulder the weight of not only my world, but the weight of the worlds of others, with beauty and grace. I want to have people in my life who accept me for who I am. And I, a tall and portly 25 year old AMAB, experiencing the strongest form of gender envy I have ever had, decided that one day I would like to be able to look a bit more like Ayaka if the mood so took me.
Ayaka is vanilla, but vanilla is the most popular flavor for a reason; it is simple but effective, and can take many accent flavors upon itself to the taste of those consuming it.
And finally, after months of saving and farming for her, lucking into her weapon, and building an awesome team for her, I can also add that YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TRIPLE CROWNED AYAKA IS STRONG AS FUUUUUUUUUUU-

Totally agree. When she first released I remember thinking she was kinda bland and I had no desire to pull her. Playing her story quest flipped some kind of switch in me. Like you said, I don't find her attractive, I'm not thirsty over her at all. But the thought of her made me feel so warm inside and it felt so pure somehow. Immediately spent my sizeable savings on her and had no regrets since. She's just. Sweet. Idk.

In case of Ayaka, I want to correct something . Cryo characters are opposite of perfection. Ayaka as an example is not prenaturally gifted nor she is perfection . She is same as Yoimiya in her childhood until the fandago terror happened. Female Snow characters are always considered " bland" because they put a mask , their words feels like something robotic.In her story quest , She didnt relied on Traveler or anything ( i dont think she relied on anyone ) to change her path from her mother's path which is she blindly following till now. She is not perfect or anything . She will just show the mask of Shirasagi Himegimi which people make it as a Princess
Got the same feeling from her, especially the idle line thinking of herself as greedy for enjoying idle moments. (Plus she’s not freak’n harassing you for standing still, lol. Though “blade” spam comes close.)
I didn’t like her model much tbh, but after pulling her as my first 5* and doing her story I found her a pretty decent execution of the “dutiful character acting their station.” And the friendship she builds with the traveler seems genuine.
In contrast, Kokomi bugs the heck out of me. A bit due to the voice, a bit because of the strategy angle (not connected), but she felt very... off. She also reminded me a bit too much of anime about rebellions. Some of those can be very good, but many kind of give up logical consistency for the sake of theme.
Anyways... yeah. I like Ayaka. Especially because freeze spam is fun and it’ll be cool once I get Kazuha to double down on the samurai aesthetic.

When i first saw him, he looks more like a politician/ governor, but ningguang, i thought she was the geo goddess, because of how elegant she looked plus the tattoo on her thigh i thought it was some mark or insignia of being an archon/ supernatural being.

I AGREE WITH THE DILUC THING, I lost the 50/50 on the Venti Banner to Diluc, and as much as I hate him, the little investment required to build him in combat is pretty good
Ahhhhh the fact that both Venti and Chongyun were both in the top two tiers makes my heart feel so happy, they tied for my fav characters. She just is so sweet and she reminds me of my best friend

this hurt me as a Diluc and Eula main 🥲 I do wish they'd make Diluc's hair the right length and upgrade the floof like newer characters have but... maybe with a new skin. As for Eula, i didn't really find anything wrong with her portrayal or storytelling? Her quest gave us lore about her family, about her, about the Fatui getting into Mondstadt in the first place. She uses her demeanor as a coping mechanism/shield, takes control of encounters because she is used to the way people treat her--and they DO actually treat her that way. Even amicable Thoma just says you can't trust her based on her name alone, no room for growth or her to be different. her behavior is very "i know people will make fun of me for *insert trait here*, so i'll do it myself first" just with her coldness/vengeance/etc that people attribute to her solely because of her clan. as for other quest related personality things, she was trying to teach us aristocratic etiquette despite us being "lowly" and her not. she couldn't even break that training that was instilled in her to act "lower" than her clan taught her to believe she is for us to get an idea of how to act. i genuinely love her storytelling thus far and feel it's a shame she's so misunderstood/people still want to cancel her for "being a slave owner" (not you obviously, but some people STILL say this???)
When the whole community enjoys bullying Xinyan you did her justice! I love her play style she has great constellations she is so fun
I agree her playstyle and constellations are great, and I also love her look. But her English voiceover COMPLETELY kills the entire character for me and I'm so sad about it. And it's not like I can just switch to a different language, I've literally played the whole game in English and know each of my favorite characters by their English voices, so that's out of the question. Not trying to hate on the VA either, she's a fine actress, but I just can't handle the accent choice.

Also yeah, I did complain in the last survey about Raiden/Ei wearing a miniskirt kimono. Listen, I love thighs, but that's ridiculous. And I do respect your opinion on Ayaka and you're not wrong, but I also love her because running around as a pretty samurai princess in a frilly dress and killing everything with an ice clusterfuck just sparks joy to me

Seriously, ever since I pulled Ei, I keep doing back/front design comparisons cause from the back she DRIPS majesty, status, glory, power and all but from the front.....she looks.....lackluster. Like as a person of power, lest an archon, she should've had better, specially considering that she holds both warrior and ceremonial roles(?)(for the lack of better words) in Inazuma. Okay appeal to simps but was that REALLY important for an archon? I mean compare it to the other two.

If I didn't know Genshin and someone asked me which Inazuman was the archon, I would straight up say Ayaka. She's got that armored look, that aura of perfection, and the voice. The soft spoken one who downs enemy with a single slash. (Of course, that turns out to be Ei but like I said, if I was clueless about Genshin.) Ei would be the OP general who'd take down whole armies by herself. No way Yae would be the archon, she gives too much "head priestess" vibes (not surprising since that's exactly what she is). This tier-list video was rather entertaining. Not a fan of general meta tier-lists but ones based on personal preference are another story. 😏
When character in-game models before Inazuma came out were leaked, I thought the Electro Archon was Yae. Yae looked like the Archon to me, I was shocked when it turned out to be Ei

as the #1 sucrose simp in the world, who has watched almost every tier list and saw her get c,d, and f tier, i am suprised that someone actually puts her in s tier. finally.
Based on this tier list, I'm gonna say Ying is obviously Team Anemo (same girl, same) and just by the numbers her least favorite element is Electro. As an Ei stan and someone who mained Beidou very early on in my Genshin journey, I am offended...however, yeah it is admittedly not the most poppin' element presently. The spread of preference by element seems to go: Anemo, Geo, Cryo, Pyro, Hydro, Electro.
By weapon, Sword is tied with Claymore as the winner with the Bow unsurprisingly coming in last since Ying can't Bow. The spread of weapon preference by character goes: Sword, Claymore, Polearm, Catalyst, Bow. I'll point out that Polearm is also very nearly tied with the two winners, so most of what we can determine about this is that Ying doesn't like Catalysts or Bows which, like was mentioned, Ying likes to brawl.
So hey, no surprises or upsets really, the data is true to the takes. That's kind of comforting, right?
I may have built a simple spreadsheet to determine this, the results of which were slightly skewed at first because certain elements and weapons just have more representatives. I tried to account for the variance by dividing the points earned for each category by the number of representatives.

Idk but Razor has been my comfort character since before I got him. When I was new to the game like at version 1.1, I was checking he character archive and saw my boy with his wolf stand. I still remember that time lmao so dramatic- but I still main him to this day. Tho unfortunately for him I suck at artifact farming and his dmg is still not as good but I just can't remove him from my main team 😭😭😭 He's my first triple crowned character and my second/last is Kazuha xD goes to show they're special to me :'>
I also have a special attachment to my first 5* (Klee was my first 5*). I absolutely REFUSED to replace no matter what friends said cause she took me so far but ended up replacing her after obtaining Hu Tao cause her play style suits me (I refuse to heal even if my hp is VERY low) and I luv her design.
I feel you on Childe on many parts, cause my opinion of him changes every. fucking. day. Like one day I'm gonna be like "ew stinky fatui guy", the next I'm gonna be like "actually he's pretty fun" and then go into a whole "ok but his such an interesting and complex character, that I hope Mihoyo doesn't just kill off, cause he has so many potential and I want him to be my bro".

About Ayaka: I think Mihoyo did a lot of research and they tried to create her story with a typical oriental romance theme: a secret, ambiguous love/feeling between a young boy and a young girl that never have been spoken before it ends. Such stories often evoke tender feelings and long lasting regrets. That’s the very emotion mihoyo tried to present in Ayaka’s river dancing cutscene: she showed her true feeling and humanity to Traveler, instead being a flawless successor of House Kamisato.
You may want to check out stories like Ichiyō Higuchi‘s “Takekurabe” and Yasunari Kawabata’s “Dancer of Izu”. Also there is a Tang poem called “题都城南庄” by 崔护 covers a similar topic (very simple wording, nice and friendly). I think you may like to read it too. :)

her design gives me magical girl vibes and I like magical girls but it just doesn’t seem to suit her Majesty!!!
i actually have a soft spot not for 5* but for first 4* (aka kaeya, lisa and amber + traveller as special guest who i like the same). I give them all the the best artifacts and weapons and still play them even if i have many objectively stronger 5*. Also thank you for xinyan because her personality and visual is dope and gameplay IS fun. And i think most of the 4* underrated (even if they are not, i just want more respect for them because they bring too much joy for me haha)
Otherwise it was interesting to watch! It's always entertaining and funny to see how people see the same characters and why they think they're cool or not so cool. The phase "the beauty in the eyes of the watcher" is shine much more because sometime little details, personal traits or even the time when you get the character can change drastically the opinion you have about them. And for someone some characters are the lovely but for someone else the same characters are mean to be perished (for example i will yeet xinqui with yae from highest cliff in any moment but for you they're s tier).

I am concerned at how our thought process regarding Diluc is so similar. How is this even possible? I used to look forward to getting Diluc so much and was ecstatic when I first lost 50/50 to him. Literally a week after I raised him I was ready to throw him off a cliff. AND I DID. I got C1 Diluc on Hu Tao's rerun and tossed him off Cape Oath. Twice. I built a square prison of walls for him in my teapot and kept a large rock with a tea table on top next to his enclosure, then unceremoniously kicked him the hell out of there when he got to friendship 10. Got him C2 on Ayato's banner and screamed bloody murder, swearing to throw him off all the high places in the Chasm. Didn't keep that promise though. At this point I'm just tired. Rebuilt him with my 100% mid Crimson set and his godforsaken Gravestone.
He's on standby for whenever I need Mond talent books, and that's basically it. I am however considering making a really pretty burial site for him in my teapot once maintenance ends. Might as well. He can have his little flower patch of death next to the floating garden I made for my kings and queens. It'll be a pretty flower patch.
I just love to hate him at this point. Sorry for the unhinged essay.
