John Lennon's message is timeless, but PTX took it up a notch and brought it into the current times. Especially now when there is a faction in this country that is seeking political power by targeting the most vulnerable with their ignorance and bigotry under the guise of religious belief. It is more important than ever that those of us who prescribe to the principles set forth here stand in solidarity and defense of those threatened. Particularly those in the LGBTQ+ community and their families.

Jews, women, blacks, and Hispanics are also being targeted right now, as well as Asians. We need to recognize the bigotry and support all of these groups.
I *think* most bigotry is rooted in fear. That's why we're seeing new laws designed to keep any mention of diversity or of America's history of slavery out of the classroom - present diversity as some kind of plot to take over our children's minds and people will buy into the bigotry, out of fear for their children.
And here we have Pentatonix, openly diverse and loving, doing nothing but putting out some of the most beautiful music available - they must scare the s*** out of the politicians who are trying to spread fear of the other, because their very existence makes it obvious just how empty that fear is.

Good music like this - great music - has the ability to deliver the message we need to hear at the time. John Lennon was a warrior for peace, on the national level. Vietnam was tearing the country apart and Cold War fears from the USSR were a rumbling, low-level threat in our daily life. This was his plea to counteract the institutions and traditions that lead to war. Today, with Pentatonix, the message hits on a more personal level, to celebrate our connections and honor our differences. Lovely, lovely reaction, thank you so much. NEVER try to hold your tears for humanity! If we can't cry for each other's pain, there is no hope for us. I loved your heartfelt reaction and I shed tears with you. This song was written by John Lennon in 1971. The Vietnam war still had four years to go, the USA Civil Rights Act was only one year old, homosexuality was still illegal and the AIDS epidemic was still a decade away. Lennon himself had only 9 more years left to live before he was murdered.
We've come a long way since then but we've still got a long way to go.

Imagine by Pentatonix may be one of the most important videos of this century. This group took a classic, timeless song of tolerance and peace and modernized it as only they can. They are a perfect example of what respect and love can be like. Five people with differences in race, religion, gender, and sexuality can do beautiful things when they work together. I cried when I saw and heard this the first time. I still usually tear up when they go into Wall of Sound mode. Pentaholics are the ones who need to see this the least.

Your reaction is the most real and honest one I have ever seen. Please don`t feel the need to apologize for it. I respect a man who can openly show his feelings. I grew up in the deep south, and I saw crosses burning in people's yards when I was riding the school bus in the mornings. If more people felt the way you do, and I do, that would never happen again. Music touches our souls - don't apologize for feeling a song deeply - we all have emotions. This song was relevant when it was first composed and it is so more relevant even today and it's sad that it's still relevant. That people in this world still don't get it - to love everyone - because we're all human. As a trans man in America right now, it's a scary time, and I hope one day, everyone in the world will truly get this message and humanity can grow and become a loving enlightened society. I really loved this heartfelt and emotional reaction from you. Just like with the cards - we all have what sets us apart unique and beautiful and we all share something with each other and at the end of it all we're ALL human. This was the first time that Scott came out publicly as LGBTQIA+, and I absolutely love it that when Mitch hands his card over to Scott as sharing that label with him, he gives this look to him that I always feel like is him telling Scott 'You got this!' and the way Scott smiles when handing his card over to Avi...it's just beautiful.
I am so sorry for the fear and anxiety that you are having to experience in this country right now. While I am not a member of the community, as a long time ally and resident of deep red Oklahoma, I have many good friends who are and see the toll that this is taking on not only them but their families. Especially the family members of those in the trans community who are being threatened with having their children removed and being criminally charged for trying to provide them with healthcare. This has to end. But, as the old adage goes, all that is necessary for evil to triumph is for those of good will to do nothing. It is more important than ever that all of us stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our brothers and sisters until this threat is eradicated and resigned to the dust bin of history. I firmly believe in my heart that we far outnumber those in the narrow-minded yet vocal minority.

Absolutely no shame in crying. This song was done so beautifully. I love the fact that each time they passed the card, it showed who each individual was. Mitch and Scott are LGBTQ+, Avi is a Jewish man, Kevin is a black man who is also a Christian. Kirstin is a Latina woman who is also a Christian. The coolest part is when they passed the card, whatever was on it was something each of them had in common. So very beautiful. Also, most of us cried right along with you! Excellent reaction!

PTX are special. You might like their Evolution of Rihanna, Sound of Silence or their original songs like “Sing”.
I think this is my favourite of theirs. Loved it from the first time I saw it. A very clever way to illustrate Lennon's beautiful words. I'm with you all the way. We;re all one. All human. May I recommend another a capella group to you? VoicePlay, beautiful people, with beautiful voices and beautiful characters, singing beautiful harmonies, with a wide range of genres. Anything you pick to watch won't disappoint but maybe take a look at Can't Help Falling in Love. It's stunning.
Just think how GREAT our nation could be if we banded together and helped one another instead of driving wedges? One does not have to be right ALL THE TIME. They are healing, cleansing tears and as such, they are a beautiful representation of your heart. I've balled over this video so many times, I can't even tell you. I've heard it a hundred times at least, but every once in a while I'll start crying again. I needed the love I found with you in this. I have a crying reaction to this song every time. The first time, I just had to curl up and have a good long cry. Pentatonix is so hopeful! They add an element of hope and joy to every song no matter how serious or sad. I have to believe divine intervention brought this group together, and they are putting so much loving energy out into the world! Music is healing. Don't ever apologize for being emotional. I watch a lot of reactors and everyone of them cry when it comes to this song. I've been a Pentaholic for years and I cry everytime I see this video.

This song makes me cry, too. I love this group. This is the best a capella group I've ever heard. I love the diversity of this group. There is diversity in my family, consisting of LGBTQ+, Native American, Korean, African American, English, French, Russian, and who knows what else! There are also different religions, and atheists in my family. How on Earth can I get mad at anyone outside my family? I can't! I can't.
