- I sat down to talk with Kristen about her struggles with addiction while being homeless. Its another sad story to listen to . Shes another one dealing with an open wound thats keeping her from rehab.
The scum making those drugs......no punishment is enough. Addicts can't get help because of the rubbish they put in it.

Clearly with the situation in which these chemicals are killing people you would think the medical treatments would change to accommodate the problem. I totally understand why thry wont give them medical treatment for a drug induced wound when she is still using drugs. She wilk just get another one , why would they give her a skin graft if she is still putting needles into it. Makes sense to me. She is teying to help herself. No one is responsible for helping you if you wont help yourself. Not even healthcare.

This video got me into tears. When he started to break down and Jeff was nice enough to have tissues ready to go really hit my heart. It's videos like this that make all of us realize how compassionate Jeff really is to all these addict. I'm definitely not a Jeff fan boy but i can't say enough wonderful things about this man. I strongly believe that it takes one addict to help enough.

Jeff, I love the compassion you show, I know you have been have been there so you know the pain so you feel their pain ❤ thank you for another great interview….. it always blows my mind how people got so far down the rabbit hole but the over prescribing of pain meds has done soooooo much damage in US, just ruined lives 😢 just heartbreaking xxxxx we are lucky in Australia, I am sure it’s here too but doesn’t seem to be on the scale - certainly not fentanyl and “trank” 😭

No bag is the same. Meth causes them to go insane. It causes the same abscesses and skin issues. If it was dope mostly it would so much better. Meth is evil. It eats you within months. Makes you insane and changes you forever mentally. Crime is insane because of it. Lucky. No.

The ER's are horrible anymore. The last two times I waited over 10 hrs before a Dr came in. I wasn't even there because of drugs. It's really sad.

So all these people are going to die. This is a public health issue and crisis.
Almost everyone that I interviewed will be dead within the next 2 years. In my opinion this is the biggest public health crisis in America by far
It's a trap set by the controllers to kill off the weak who aren't aware of what this world is. We're in a soul lure system where only the strong survive and they have many honey pots for us to fall into them and suffer. It's quite brilliant once you figure it all out.
I'm a 63 year old male who started going to Kensington in the early 90s and lots of clean time in between but an injury caused me to self medicate for years and I started seeing the slow switch from heroin the fentanyl and then around 2018 I started noticing the tranc. So I had my hip replaced in 2019 and I've been living in Sedona Arizona since February 2019. I still keep track of what's going on in Kensington through all these videos and I definitely see how the Glory Days of heroin. Never would have seen this coming. I hope the medical profession figures out what to do as far as detoxing all these people. What a sad State of affairs.

Sadly she had to get clean to get the graft and remain clean as that’s the first thing that will die if she shoot’s and the graft is not healed.
She is lucky she doesn’t get septic. Your so young girl and not that bad. Keep trying to get help. Everyday lower your amount a little each day. You can do this and have so much time to live a happy and successful life.

She is one of the best I have seen like she is not that far gone I pray she finds her way out, maybe tell her to keep calling her dad and asking for help. It’s so frustrating that they make it so hard. The system needs to change

If you don't wanna loose your arm then you must take care of it. Fight your withdrawal issues. Go to the hospital now and be sick. The steps and barriers all revolve around getting clean. That's the deal.

There are so many obstacles far beyond us users can handle on our own. Hospitals need to start a new protocol for this issue stat!

If she has MRSA, that means that she needs iv antibx. A lot of people are walking around with it. Here’s a spoiler alert: you can get MRSA in a HOSPITAL🗣️🗣️. They should check to see what she has and treat it.

My mom had necrotizing fascitis. She almost died. Her wound was taken care of. There are these things called universal precautions. These situations are why these precautions exist I am quietly banging my head against the wall right now

Jeff's atmosphere from inside the car produces a quieter video. Dope use on Kensington avenue will never end as long as the Police allow an open dope market.

During the pandemic I was in treatment. It took a few weeks to figure out the telehealth but I had help… they made sure I had enough meds .. I guess I got luck with my dr
If I lost a limb I wouldnt want to stop using I would KEEP using more! They are insane the way they are treating her. She needs someone to take her into their home unconditionally and help her slowly get into methadone and off the dope while shes getting the arm to heal
Very interesting interview. It shows how diverse the problems are that addicts have to face (social, medical, physical, psychological, administrative (paper hassel)...)
I like that you talk about the medical aspects of the addiction as well, because these informations are important i think, especially to evaluate severe withdrawl symptoms (Which brain receptors are affected from which substance, how can withdrawl be treated, IS THERE a treatment, surgery in a waiting loop...)

@@Jeffshighonlife okay sooo I have what I think may seriously be helpful tips for these wounds .. idk if anyones tried but I just thought about it for whatever reason and wish I did sooner !
Okay so I keep seeing these women seem to be healing so slow , way slower than my wounds earlier this year from 2/3/4 degreee burns did with NO treatment aside from myself. I realized some things quite quickly in the healing of these large open wounds and the girls said they seem to resemble burns initially aside from the eating away.
So I would use normal gauze and normal non stick pads with adhesive right ? Well I found the antibacterial ones of both ( but especially the non stick pads ) was significantly better and worth the slight pay increase, it helped to have them stick to the wound much less , would absorb better AND they have preventative layers to stop MRSA and other bacterial infections that can be serious. I saw a great increase in healing with this and making sure to change them at least 2 times a day. Really try not to use normal bandages like bandaids ( curad actually made it worse funny enough and I always see people donating curad), and alcohol wipes (like 1.40 a box of 1-200 wipes) help to keep clean but can be overdone and over dry causing more splitting. Instead try maybe iodine tips to snap and apply to the wounds and also so I used bactine to spray on all the time. It has lidocaine to help with relief too , as well as a thing called jr Watkins(petro-carbo , red tin with gold accent I believe) first aid salve ! It’s like a healing petroleum and seriously helped me even in the past with a huge scabbing / scarring on the back of my thigh , it was the only thing to help with that back then even , but the combo this time helped ALOT! Maybe them using the antibacterial bandaging and one of these things can significantly help ? Also don’t wrap too tight of course ! Also I’m curious why when this occurs won’t anyone just sniff the stuff .. I get the high rush but if it’s so strong anyway and This is gonna happen , why continue to shoot ( at least for the time being ) could maybe be something to think about and question some on. They also make these ready kits of gauze , gauze tape , the pads of dif sizes and something else I used to get and they were so handy to have for the bit of time and healing! Maybe some of this can help .. I really think the non antibacterial to antibacterial bandaging will be a big jump. It’s sad places can’t and won’t help the same anymore .. she seems to want it and they won’t allow it and I’m glad you had a napkin for her I was gonna suggest getting tissues for people you interview in the passenger door!
I honestly don’t think they are cleaning out at all. I draw the line at cleaning wounds cuz my stomach is weak as hell😂 I am going to start asking if and how they clean the wound
@@kaseysewick1691 not only that but he needs to be careful he does not get an infection from them too. When my brother was in the burn unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, we had to wear protective gear to see him, for his sake and ours.
The system for treatment in Philadelphia is so f@&ked. I’m an addict in recovery here in Philly and I’ve worked in the addiction treatment field for 10 years. This xylazine issue is a huge problem and it causing so many barriers to treatment. I want to do something about it but I wouldn’t even know what steps to take. This is what’s keeping people stuck in Kensington and to the point where hospitals are refusing treatment bc someone uses drugs
It’s scary what’s going on. They need to figure out how to detox people the right way from Xxylacine. Every single person I interview says the same thing. And the open sores makes it that much harder for them
I just can't believe how bad the medical services are in America!!! Like??? Wtaf!!! This is terrible!!! In the UK??? Where I'm from anyone can walk in to a hospital 24 7!!! I fell over in my kitchen and sliced my leg open on a piece of glass my neighbours called an ambulance and when they showed up they begged for me to go to hospital I refused because I didn't want to take up a bed that someone else needed more than me!!! I know this girl is still in active addiction but she's still a human being!!!! This is absolute madness!!!! She can't go to rehab with an open wound but yet the only way the wound would heal if she's drug free!!! I feel bad for this girl she's not a bad person just heavily addicted!!! Love 💗 from the UK sweetheart!!!!
Yeah we need a universal healthcare system here but it’ll never happen. It’s embarrassing how my country treats it’s poor and sick
Medical services are so unsympathetic.They should consider their oath and do their utmost to heal and relieve suffering in EVERY human being !Shes very lucky though to still have caring parents to help and support her🥰
They are following orders too. Got to see it from their point of view as well - addicts present all the time and they get fixed up and leave only for all the time effort and money spent on them to be washed down the drain. They are abused by addicts and have to deal with their entitled behaviour. She seems like a nice gal and honestly if she wanted to get clean what she’s on wouldn’t kill her to stop unless it’s benzos etc too maybe then it could be dangerous but these people are having seizures anyway and passing out not to mention she’s got nothing to lose. Surprised they can live so long with such infections.
The biggest issue I see with making them get clean first is how would they manage the pain? Hopefully she’s got antibiotics at the least.

Wound not healing has a lot to do with not having a way to properly sanitise it day after day. They don't say you can't get care unless you can prove you have long term accommodation though. I'm so angry about that! I'm so glad I don't have to live in the USA!

Sydney Australia did skin grafts on my hands for different reasons but they knew I was actively using. Is it because the tranq is going to exacerbate the wounds?
Yes they continue to shoot yup the drugs into the same area so it won’t heal

All these people need is suboxone. It really is a miracle drug I was a hardcore opiate addict for 12 years fentanyl patches was my drug of choice then to methadone when I was on parole cause it didnt show up on a 6 panel drug test. Once I started suboxone my addiction was over and I could live a normal life again ive been on suboxone now going on 6 years
She can get food stamps. My friend just went through the same thing… she spoke to them an explained about not working for the company that they wanted a paper from… she needs to put the effort into things to get the help she needs. Food stamps aren't the same everywhere. In many states, an "able bodied" person of working age is not eligible when the unemployment rate is below a certain percentage.
You are right it differs from state to state. PA has an emergency food stamp program if you aren’t working or are homeless. I am not sure how Jersey works

Kristen seems bright...I hope she continues to pursue the debridement...the squeaky wheel gets the oil....keep trying...I have to believe someone will show mercy...I think Drs. are overly cautious because of so many litigious folks....

@@Jeffshighonlife Idk really how methadone clinics work ..but if she could get into one of those outpatient I would think that would help her off the street drugs and qualify her for medical treatment that she desperately needs...before she goes septic or the only option is amputation..
I just cannot imagine what discomfort her arm must cause. ..and the danger of an open wound ...

Honestly it wouldn’t be too hard to get in a methadone program there’s a couple down there. She just has commit to it and stay clean unfortunately a lot of these people will never be able to do that

What a catch-22/conundrum. So, so crazy.
It seems this is going to seperate folks into two groups. Those who decide to quit for fear of losing limb or life, and those who simply push on & hope for the best.
You would think, anyway....
I could be absolutely wrong as I am in recovery & not seeing the world as these poor souls do.
I mean, you'd THINK that it'd be shit or get off the pot, now or never....
May God grant them the will to push through the pain of withdrawl under supervision and to never look back with the proper support & resources to actually succeed.
This is so heartbreaking. From my end, personally ? It practically feels like survivor's guilt. Like, why did God allow me to do this while others can't or won't ?
All I can say is: thank you Jeff for actually deciding to go back & bring the stories to us all. You, ATM & everyone who puts a face & backround story to this unreal human daily tragedy in the K&As around our world.
And I was through A LOT myself. How I never set myself up to be on the wrong side of the law is, in itself, a miracle. I'd like to share my story at some point. But, I'm hesitant just now...maybe someday- knowing it may help others makes me think I will at some point or other.
Keep up the will to bring light to these folks' stories & will to press on. You're doing God's work, Jeff.....

It’s so so crazy to me looking at it with 7 years away from this madness. But I just got lucky enough to stop right before the fentanyl. But there’s nothing rational about active addiction. This girl still looks good somehow despite the insane drug use… she must be very young. She sounds so high though. :( She has that typical shaky, slow motion voice that opioids give a person.

They are only giving 30mg taper and it’s not strong enough to make them feel well. They are still using the old heroin model for detox and it just doesn’t work.

The hospital didn’t discharge her with referral to a wound clinic!? The wound clinic may give her a different answer…. There is enzymatic debridement that could be used, to remove the dead tissue, along with daily dressing changes.

If you ever see this girl again, can you ask her if she knows a guy name Breezy in Camden, hes probably 39 now, he's black, back then hung around the transpo alot, I went back to Philly in 2015 and stopped coming to Camden. Tried finding him few times and couldn't and think of him often. I met a lot of people from both Kensington and Camden thru the years, just people say hi too. Only a few I considered actual friends and he was one..really hope he's okay.
