If Drink was secure he’d play Horn
Nothing will change with this Mizzou offense for as long as Drink is our HC. Too bad the front office couldn't see that and extended him in the middle of a super mediocre season. Now we're destined for mediocre to bad season for at least the next several.
This is is last season if he doesn’t win more than 7 games
he don't call plays and if you actually watched fresno last yr they didn't throw the ball down there field a lot actually. Their qb averaged 8.3 yards a completiom
The time to attack was our opening possession week 1... All we have is a bunch of nice athletes with potential and a guy coaching them who doesn't know how to maximize that potential.
Why are we dancing around the obvious, here? Drink is not the guy... Full stop.. He's a slick talking beta in a league full of Alphas. A sudden flip of the switch isn't going to occur at 11 am Saturday morning.. Francois needs to cut ties next Sunday morning and give Baker a shot as in house replacement then allow Moore to operate from his playbook as the true offensive coordinator.
Are we going to pretend that this isn't Drink's offense we've seen these first two weeks?? I don't wish for anyone to lose their job, but Drink is out of his element. The evidence is right in front of our eyes.
Yup. These games were the ones to give your depth some playing time and try some new wrinkles. Instead, they were more planned/called to just not lose. Depth was barely used and playbook/execution looked identical to most of last year.

You missed the opportunity to point out the underwhelming OLine play. We brought in a new OC, new OL coach and several linemen to fix the Oline and it was still pretty bad. Cook, who needs a lot of time, rarely had a stable pocket to pass from.
I think I pointed it out, but I didn't harp on it a ton. Definitely pointed out Johnson getting beaten on safety being a problem. Ball still has to be thrown.

If we lose this game say, 20-17 and only put up 200ish yards total offense, Drink should be replaced with Baker, immediately. This would allow Moore to operate from his own playbook (we're not fools, Eli) and hopefully get a better look at who we have other than Burden to rely on for a big play. See where you are at the end of the season with those two working together and do what you can to patch up the offensive line along the way. It can't possibly be any worse than what we're in store for if Drink is allowed to cruise this bus into next season. I want to be wrong about the guy but this is year 4 and we're still undisciplined, lack structure and don't have a real identity.

I think so too but I also won't be surprised if the defense shows up in a huge way and keeps us in the game.

To run a successful offense, you need good football instincts and intuition... drink obviously doesn't have that.

I think people are overreacting a little. It’s only the 2nd game of the season. There’s plenty of time to improve.
If Mizzou beat Middle Tennessee by 40 points, I would agree its only the 2nd game and any bowl game expectations would be overreacting. Watching Mizzou squeak by a team they should have beaten by 21 relying on a 50 yard TD on a blown coverage to not lose, it is not an overreaction. The SEC teams are not going to be that generous.
Yes but how many times are we going to say that to ourselves before it actually happens?? At the beginning of last season I said forget win/loss record. I just want to see this become a team that's tough to play against shoots their best shot each week and begins to develop a level of consistency, then the wins will come.. None of that has happened.. Know why? Because Drink simply doesn't have the chops for his position in the SEC. It's not personal but it's painfully obvious. If you gave him a shot of truth serum even he would admit he's in over his head. The sooner the people in charge recognize this fact the better.

@royals080 I watch SEC football but there is a difference between having a bad game and knowing your coach will right the ship, and having a bad game and k owing that is as good as it is going to get because your head coach is incompetent. Missouri football is the latter.
