Hey, thanks for watching. This video was de-monitized because Zach played a copyrighted song. It's no big deal as I only make about $5 per video, but if you want to send $5 to Zach I'll be sure he gets it 😀 www.paypal.me/zalexindustries/5
I had some custom lightweight vintage calipers made for the rear, by PMB. They look just like the stock ones, but made out of alloy. Saved quite a bit on unsprung weight. That along with installing aluminum trailing arms saved a lot of weight on the back of the car. My 69T weighed 1890 lbs before quite a few more modifications.
I know that if I were you, I wasn't able to wait for the car to start the engine, put the first gear and go go go! What a patience to produce these videos for us, Tom! Always a great job, always a pleasure to listen too.
Cool, what else are contemplating? I would be equally happy with lots of colors to be honest. Bahama Yellow is nice though. I feel like my Bahama Yellow is a little brighter than some. It will be interesting to compare with other cars once I can drive it👍
Every time I help someone work on their car... "so this will take like... an hour or so?" SHUT UP YOU FOOL! You have angered the shadetree gods now, we will be here for a week lol
Great video! Question? Why didn't you go with standard Boxster or modern 911 calipers? They are plentiful, stay OEM Porsche and match the 911 rotor diameter. Cheers from Puerto Rico.
Hi Tom - I got the same brakes from Tuthill but they didn't come with fittings. If you ordered the banjos fittings yourself, can you let me know what size they are on both sides of the banjo and the bolt size also?
You're going to like these brakes. The threads are M10 x 1.0 mm in the calipers. You should be able to find a euro brake banjo fitting with those threads.
@@GarageTimeAutoResto Thanks a lot, I am looking for this Adresse and order the parts in the UK. I hope, I do not wait so long of the parts, because the UK. has left the European union. I will look every video of you in future. Please excuse my bad English writing. Best regards from Andi out Germany
Tuthill is a very serious classic Porsche place. They do a lot of rally cars. About 20 mins drive from my place. Dropped by the other day. They had lots of 911s and a 904 in
Man, that's a shame about the copyright algos... I mean, I see people covering songs on YT all the time... I think it's the complete lack of any logic or consistency that is most infuriating - anyhow, I for one think the sound track is way better with Zach - that PRS of his is not hard on the eye either :D anyhow, $5 USD on the way from Canada:) You know, I love those calipers - that little bit of extra engineering with the varying sizes of pistons is the kind of thing that really "gives me the fizz" to quote another youtuber lol. I think for pure looks though, those finned RSR calipers are just so nice, but these bring a couple decades of technology to the fight and look killer in their own way. My questions is, if you want to do a break job and the rotor needs to come off, do you need to remove the had brake line going from the strut to the caliper?
YT is strange indeed. At least his music is recognizable? Ha ha. Thanks for the $5. He's excited! You are right that the hard line has to be disconnected during brake replacement. Probably disconnect at the banjo. This requires a brake bleed which is probably good practice anyway. Good that you pointed that out!
@@GarageTimeAutoResto I have an irrational fear of brake bleeding, I honestly think I have a mental disorder lol every time I do it I see little bubbles of air in my head and have this anxiety that I didn't get all of them... I think it's a control issue mixed with some form of ocd lol then I put on my big boy pants and go on about day but every time I step on the brake my head goes "it's a little bit softer, you can feel it, right?" Kind of like when someone moves your seat in the car: you know it's back to where it was but... Ok, enough crazy talk 🤣

Wow, that's light for a 911! Great job
Great look at the front suspension and brakes of the G bodied Porsche 911s! Damn those calipers are impressive!!!
Thanks, these cars are pretty simple but work so well. I agree these calipers are amazing.

Love how you sweat the little details. It’s worth the time to do that. The set up looks really good. The new lift sure made it look a bit easier!
Thank you, new lift was great. Did you notice how I used the lift to separate the strut from the ball joint. Love it. Well a hammer helps too, ha ha.
Yes I noticed using the lift for the strut. What at time saver! Paid close attention to how much control you had on the movement. Perfect!
Love this channel- I am now a big bahama yellow fan. I might have to rethink the color of my 912. 🤔

Fabulous stuff! Nice job Tom
Thank you so much!
Three or four times as long as planned, lol. Front brks coming along nicely. Love them calipers.
Ha ha, 3 or 4 times longer and then add 20%. Calipers are 👍

I had boxster brakes from brembo, but these calipers are better, lighter, and fit with my 15" wheels.

Hi Tom, question about seam welding your car. Why did you only do the frunk and not anywhere else, like the cabin and engine bay ?
Hi, because the integrated weld in roll bar and door bars are way more stiff than the seam welding.
Ah, I see, I’d completely forgotten you’d put in a roll cage.
It's a great video, where can I buy this calipers.
Best regards
from Germany
Tuthill Porsche in England sells them.

I appreciate your English! Fully understandable! Thank you!
Hey Tom do you mind attached the link to those awesome brake calipers?? I am thinking about it for my 911sc.
Sure but they are only available in UK I believe.

A million different size scraps of wood to pummel things with
Ha ha, one can fix many things with a block of wood and a big hammer. I'll make a video of scrap pile someday.
