Daisuke was a magical skater. I think he fairly beat Patrick in 2012 in Paris and Denis Ten did so as well in 2013 but it is nice to see Patrick speak so humbly about his competitors. When he was competing he was a Skate Canada mouthpiece, he is much more warm speaking from the heart.
Canada owes him for competing in 2018. If Patrick decided to train and prepare earlier, he would have realized he was just as competitive as any other top5 male.

I never gave much thought to his challenges competing as a Chinese-Canadian because of all the skaters from Japan and China we have seen over the years but the sport is indeed eurocentric in Canada. Hope he embraces his parent's heritage as it is so rich and valuable.

2014 Sochi...gave away his gold. His Vivaldi program was a masterpiece. He probably wished that gold was his but he won a lot, maybe not always rightfully so but his edges were some of the greatest ever.

THE MAN WITH GRAY SUEDE SKATES who excelled with his deep flowing edges into his effortless jumps and spins. His spontanaity gifted knòwledge and contibution to UNDERSTANDING CLASSICAL MUSIC BECAUSE HE HIMSELF WAS INVOLVED WITH TINKLING THE KEYS OF HIS GRAND PIANO OF THE FAMOUS COMPOSERS CENTURIES AGO. HE ENHANCED THE CLASSICS. THANK YOU MY honest warm cheerful friend with your mature demure!
