@@spiritwolf3103 it adds so much to the stories and it shows he is in fact a real person with many different life experiences that make it so he can relate to some of the stories in his own way. I used to watch the robotic voice with the pictures of the comments and I’m not one for change. But now I much prefer Mainly Facts. Even over the other channels. It feels much more personal and entertaining than a lot of other Reddit stories channels

I once asked my grandmother how she met my grandfather.
"At a party, at the time I was dating his brother". I saw my father's eyes open wide. That's how my father discovered how his parents met.
Speaking of discovering how parents met, I also asked my father how he met my mother. He was with his friends in a bar and bet a bier that he'd manage to date the next girl that would enter the bar, no matter who it was. The result? 30 years of common life, 25 years of marriage, 3 kids including me, a house and a cute cat I often get to see. They're still together to this day. Oh, and he got the bier. One of those friends, if I remember correctly, ended up being my godfather (and still is to this day).

I was dating a guy in high school. Things were alright, but I started drifting away because I was starting to notice behaviors I didn't like. My grandma once asked how my dating life was going, so I told her my boyfriend's full name.
    Her response?
    "Oh, like our cousins?"
Turns out, I was distantly related to him and had no idea. Thank the gods we didn't get intimate, but that was the only reason I needed to break up with him.

I found out my mom was adopted. Technically, my grandmother 'stole' her from the hospital. Grandma used to work at the hospital my mom was born in and a friend of hers told her. Grandma called her lawyer who had the appropriate paperwork ready (this was the 70s). However, the hospital called social services because the birthmother abandoned my mom so my grandma and her lawyer ran to get my mom. They got her and walked by the social service agent who had arrived after them. No one was the wiser. At least until my mom was eight months old and social services did a welfare check, they concluded that my mom was happy where she was.

One of my favorite things with my background with my husband is that my mom worked with his maternal uncle in her 30s. He and his wife's names are in my parents' wedding registry book, 25 years before my husband and I met.

I found out when I was 15 in 2002 after finding a piece of paper that my older brother had written on that my dad had abused my mom. I mentioned it to her and she confirmed it was true. The major plot twist is that my dad punched my mom in the belly when she was 6 months pregnant with me. It hit me hard in the feels to the point that I never wanted to see my dad again. Its been 20 years and haven't seen him since.

Keep in mind my parents met in Wichita KS. The following took place hundreds of miles away and long before they met. 1. My paternal grandpa has worked for a relative of mine from my mom's side. It was at an apple orchard. My great uncle from my mom's side was a babtist preacher. He was the one that perform the ceremony at my Great Grandma Novie's and her first husband wedding. (He died after being shot but a rookie cop).

    Plot Twist regarding my Life:
So for some context, my parnets were young when they had me and they never married. So due to that they couldn't raise me since my dad didn't have a job at the time. Which resulted in my grandmother being the one to both adopt me and take me to America after I was born in early 2000.
Fast forward 15 years and to get my documents regarding my citizenship finalized, my grandmother has to go through the process of adopting me all over again for some reason. Meaning that my parents have to sign off on it. However, my dad isn't allowed to come to America anymore due to staying longer than his visa would allow him. So my mom is needs to be found. Which means while I was just being a Freshman in High School, everyone else was looking for my mom.
And after a while, they find her via Facebook by checking who my dad is friends with on there. Yeah turns out back in 2005, my mom had moved to the same city as me and my dad told her that my Grandmother took me to live in Florida of all places. Not insulting the State, but have you seen the Florida Man stories? Anyway, eventually I met my mom and she agreed to let my grandmother adopt me. Which is awesome since I decided to stay by her side, since she had raised me since I was a baby.
Also if your wondering what had happened next, my mom just vanished after a few weekly visits. So yeah, that sucks but I was used to not having her in my life by that point. And one more thing, I have no idea what my dad is doing and honestly I don't want to know. As he never got my half sister, who currently lives with her relatives in London, the help she needed after she had watched her mother die of a heart attack infront of her.

My white cat, expected to have a short life expectancy, outlived her siblings and another cat I had. I used to own two cats from the same litter, one boy (grey-white/male), the other (white/female). They have stayed under the same roof for years, that is until my sister claimed the male for herself before she moved to another city.
Over the years, these cats were well over a decade old, maybe about 15 years each. As soon as the male started to get visibly ill, the remaining cat I had was starting to get ill too. My father was implying that my cat was 'nearing her deathbed'.. My sister, being the 'wonderful pet owner' she claims to be, gives back the male cat and goes on living life as if nothing happened, while I try to make the rest of his days satisfactory as he once again spends time with his sister.
The male cat eventually passes, around the age of 17.
Another cat I owned passed away around two years later at the age of 16, but my white cat continues to thrive. I currently have two new cats in the family, and she is nearing 21.. and I wonder if she might outlive them too.

Almost 20 years ago, this guy named "Adam" who lived down the street from my brother and I died. He was in a car accident and was brain dead. Adam wasn't a stand up guy. He found ways to hurt and mess with my brother and I. My brother and I didn't attend his funeral. The funeral home was a block away from our house. My mother, shame on her attended the funeral. According to my mom, Adam's mother didn't even show up to his funeral. Adam died in 2004. 2024 will make 20 years since his death. I don't miss him. He would've never made it in life. Adam couldn't read. He attended my elementary school briefly. I overheard he grabbed a female classmate's breasts. Adam "buying it" was the ultimate karma. He never apologized for all he said and did to me and my brother. Don't be like Adam. If you're messing up,you better tighten up.

The educational system as a whole has failed many children because of they’re strict teaching methods, and unwillingness to try different tactics. All the love to the teachers who actually try to reach those other children and make a difference. A lot of it is poor administration, and teachers who have just checked out.

Loved this build cant wait till i can build my 86 s15. Gonna swap it to a newer 2000s zr2 extended cab frame. Its a single cab short bed but gonna use the extra length to build an overland camper on it. Its gonna be in memory of my best friend from high school. Me and him started building our trucks years ago before i had kids we wanted to go to alaska. I worked on it for 2 years v8 swapping it and it was good memories for his dad and us. His dad passed not long after i got it running. His dad was excited the first time we ran it. I had a major fail cause 2 weeks after i got it on the road the engine crapped out. I had trusted another mechanics word saying it was a good engine and didnt work on it. Well it was junk. Then life kind of hit had a kid had to put it on back burner. Then my friend ended up having an aneurysm and passed a short time later. Miss him everyday he was like my brother. Gonna get the truck eventually built and take it on trips to make memories with my boys. Miss you roger love you buddy.

I made a commitment to never go into leadership, then I became the president of my school’s leadership team. Oh I do hope you do another video about these comments because I would love to hear you read this one out. Obligatory disclaimer, all names changed to protect the ignorant.
Back in 2013 when I was a student with energy and a flat stomach. I had an an embarrassingly awful Grindr hookup with an old man we shall call Doug, only to find out he was a mature student taking a PhD at my university. Shortly after that Doug found himself a toyboy Don, who happened to be a friend on my course, so we put our drunken fumbled experience behind us and did our best to get along and managed pretty well.
As the years went on both our studies and the relationship with Don came to an end so we all drifted apart, Don started seeing someone new and my contact with Doug became nothing more than the occasional comment on one of my FB posts sometimes followed by a brief exchange of messages. The last, and most significant of these was in 2021. It went the usual way, I posted a pic of something I had seen on holiday, Doug commented, also tagging his colleague Roger, whom I didn't know. Encouraged by the comment, I decided to message Doug when I got home, ask how he was, follow up on the news I had heard about his declining health, casual catch up stuff. I got no reply to that or another message I sent three days later.
Getting concerned I messaged the afore mentioned Roger, explaining who I was and asking after Doug's health. I got a reply confirming my suspicions, his health had indeed taken a further downturn and he had died just before I got back from my holiday. Roger then kindly advised me that Kelly was organising the funeral but Jess or Rachel would also have information if I wanted to contact them. I wrote back noting it shows how casual of acquaintances we were that I didn't actually know any of those women and really the only reason I knew Doug at all was because I was a friend of his old boyfriend from years ago.
The response both stunned me rigid and explained everything. "Boyfriend? Not sure what you mean by that but Jess is his wife and Kelly and Rachel are his daughters."
It got really ugly after that but the revelations kept on coming Roger continued to message me and passed on my contact info to Kelly. Over the next few days I found out Doug was around 15 years older than he had claimed and I have found no evidence of this alleged PhD he was doing. I was accused of lying about Doug to discredit him (he was just a political canvasser but his friend and daughter revered him as this heroic political figure.) I just stuck to my guns and repeated that all I knew was this supposed fifty something year old PhD student told me he was a gay single man and I just accepted that. It hit its worst after Roger had given up contacting me, Kelly said she would "fuck me up" and I shouldn't think she didn't know where to find me. I called her on that, asked her what city am I living in now. Could she even tell me what country I was in? I got a string of personal insults and swear words for a reply and have not heard anything from either of them since.

I have heard from people my age that the 90's were so much worse for LGBT+ people, and I can believe it. I don't know if it was because I just sort of mentally checked out for most of high school or I was just that oblivious, one of the more popular boys in my school was gay and it didn't seem like anyone had a problem with it. Now, whether or not he faced any sort of backlash, that I don't know, but just because I didn't see/hear about it doesn't mean it didn't happen. Besides, I just went mostly ignored by my "friends" so... if anything happened, word never got to me about it. Thinking about it now, I'm kind of surprised no one would have told me, because if anyone was willing to get into a fight, verbally or physically, about anything pertaining to fairness and equal treatment, it was me.
