Ateez Kim Hongjoong and Song Mingi are so good and creative. Very much entertained watching this.
Thing I like about HJ is that he's clearly heavily inspired by GD but he's not a parody of GD and does his own thing. He's in the top 3 4th gen rappers for sure.

Also, this is without bg vocals (og artists mostly perform with their bg vocals also playing) while this just plain instrumental, that's why it might be sounding lil' different. Plus, the stage, had it been an actual performance stage, this would have been looked much better. They did great regardless & GD himself approved so

I am a long time VIP 👑 (since 2012) and the only other KPOP group that caught my attention because of their music and strong stage presence is ATEEZ 🧡 Hongjoong reminded me of GD (especially his voice) and I started listening to Ateez because they have this stage presence that is in par with BIGBANG! Now I have been an Atiny too since 2019 ❤ I love and support both groups because they have worked hard to stand where they are today! 🫶 Please RESPECT both groups and no hate! ATEEZ is a humble and respectful group!

I just saw that on IG - it made me so happy because this is my absolute dream too as a VIPtiny. GD + HJ would be absolute fire - they have so much in common, and I’d not just want a collab between them (which seems more possible now that GD’s no longer with YG), but for GD to mentor HJ in everything from rap to music production to fashion design to business management and marketing (since he got his Master’s in Content & Retail Distribution, which I believe is why Peaceminusone is still so successful). It’s a fervent wish of mine actually! 🤞🏻❤️🔥

this was such a good performance! ateez's rap line remain one of the best i've seen in kpop but i think people need to keep in mind that this wasn't supposed to sound like the original anyway. hongjoong and mingi chose to give it their own twist while also respecting GD. that's how covers should be done. and GD himself liked their rendition of it so how is it being hated on when the og artist himself enjoyed it.

I really want GD see this video. I've been feeling the GD vibes in Hongjoong's voice since the first time I saw him, So I'm not surprised when Hongjoong says that he's been taking GD as a role model since his pre-debut. HJ and Mingi did an epic cover of the song by adding their own verses, I loved it! The dance part is also really cool.
