I am 100% with Dayna on the constant need for sound. I always have my tv on, my laptop, or phone playing something when I'm home. At night I have to have white noise or a fan or something making consistent noise...I am an extreme over-thinker and my brain goes to terrible memories when I am alone in silence. I just can't do it.

I have found this podcast in the last few weeks and I’m watching all of them. I listen to podcasts all day and yours has become my favorite. It feels like having drinks and dinner with Katie and Dayna. Strong, smart, friends supporting each other. Love it!
I am "of a certain age," meaning that i have a lot of experience, and therapy. What I learned, via therapists, is a great way to determine if the other person is safe, and possibly a good potential, is to make sure he has spent at least two years not in a relationship. Hanging out with a group of friends is fine, just don't try to date, or be in a relationship😮. That they have put in work at the time. Learning to love yourself, and the other the same. The difficult thing is that both have explored the way they contributed to the downfall of their past relationships and breakup. The wisdom gained will affect your relationship.

I love Katie talking about dating, as a 33 year old who got out of a 8 year relationship, I haven't started dating yet but listening to Katie talk about it is definitely helping. Screw VPR, we need a new show that is just the ladies; Katie, Ariana, Lala, Dayna (if she is down) and Charlie (also if she is down, know she isn't back on VPR).
The body count question is 🚩🚩🚩. Especially if the guy is in his 30s. I haven't kept track of mine, and I have been upfront with current/past potential partners of that fact. There were some guys who responded in gross ways to that answer. Thankfully, my current boyfriend just said, that's fair (or something like that) and we went on with our conversation. If a guy asks that, it shows their respect for you is conditional. If they say they're asking for the purpose of sexual health, that's a lie. There are plenty of other more meaningful questions to ask. Body count isn't indicative of a person's worth or sexual health.

Katie, it's freaking mouth noises. I blew up at a dear friend in college because she habitually sucked her teeth while running her tough over all her teeth. We all do this at times, but she never stopped. She also might be the sweetest person I've ever known. I made her cry. This was about 46 years ago, and I still feel so guilty. We actually ended up sharing an apartment with another friend.
