The moment I see eBay printouts or the seller starts to explain what something "goes for" on eBay is the moment they are talking to the back of my head as I leave the sale and move on to a better sale.
You can get between $30 and $50 for that American Heritage Broadside game. Also, i hate when people don't have prices at their yardsales. That make me an offer thing drives me nuts lol.
Agreed. If there are fancier items or things you're unsure if, imo it's garage sale etiquette to look it up beforehand and make sure it's marked. If you're just letting go of a bunch of stuff you only want a few bucks for (like that one nice lady!) then just seeing things out is totally fine.
I really dont like people who print out ubsold ebay listings, tape it to their items , and then ask crazy prices for their stuff. Im not shy about going to actual sold items to show the sellers, reminding them about ebay fees, and what a pain packaging/boxing/shipping can be. So often people forget how much trouble online selling can be.
I mean it is not that much trouble as someone who does it myself. especially if you deal in things that you are passionate about! I think it is just kinda silly to be upset if someone wants too much . Ask them for a price you want to pay and try to negotiate. If it doesn't work .. then move on. Too much stuff out there to resell for anyone to be worried about this or thats. I hope that you understand what I am saying My friend! No shade
@shinyhaunter6019 I dont come across many people hosting garage sales that would ever take the time to list, package and ship their items. If they were pationate people who were really into maximizing the worth of their items they wouldnt be having a garage sale. They would be selling on ebay from the start. And really... of you dont already have boxes, packaging materials, printer, a near by post office, ebay account, financial information set up, and all the time to answer questions and deal with bullcrap from people on the internet. Its trouble when the alternative is set up a table. Put your boxes of stuff out. Post a sign or two. And wait for the money to show up. When you are done. You take crap back in. Done. If people who normally dont shop or sell on ebay are just willy nilly looking up random listed prices and trying to sell their stuff for inflated prices at a garage sale the only way to change that sort of trend is to inform people. Call attebtion to their errors and show them the correct way. Most people have no idea they can look at items that are sold or completed.
Jewelry and artifacts produced by indigenous peoples do not always carry the sterling silver mark or the 925 mark but are still silver. There are some exceptions given to the Indian nations where they can produce these things and not necessarily show the markings. The more modern pieces now are embossed with the sterling marks. The Navaho and Sioux have many craftsmen now that produce in quantity so you will see their goods with the markings.. learned this from visiting friends in NM And visiting the reservations in the area. Certain days of the week, the Indian market is open in Santa Fe around the corner from The Governors House hotel in Santa Fe.
I have an old clamp like that was my grandpa’s, I’m 56, he was a carpenter/ house builder. It’s about 9 ft long and I still use it sometimes when I’m making furniture. It’s got notches in the bar to hold the one end.
@OriginalNethead my husband has nearly 200 clamps NOT counting the tote of pinch clamps that I have. My husband would have picked up those clamps in a nanosecond!
Ugg! When I saw the Broadside Game I was yelling at the TV, for you to get. I sold one of those over 10 years ago. Solds are still good on that game. Normally you know you can get games very cheap at yard sales. Well, maybe next time. 😊
My one pet peeve when I used to go to flea markets or yard sales, were those who had nothing priced. It was very frustrating, especially when someone would tell you one price and yet quote a different one to another person for the same item. When my late father and I used to sell at flea markets, I made sure everything was priced, even down to each paperback and hardback book. Yes, it is time-consuming, but it saved a lot of aggravation for both of us. In regards to the Ebay printouts that some sellers put on their items at garage sales or flea markets, they are doing the same thing that I have seen resellers do while looking up "comps" to check out what items sold for on various resellers websites. While the one person in this video had too high expectations for their items, are they any different from the resellers, who want to buy low and sell high? I believe it is a good learning experience for people to see what selling potential their items may sell for by looking checking out the various resellers websites, but need to tamper down their expectations when they hold their garage sales or flea markets, knowing that resellers will want to purchase things at the lowest price possible.
I'm wondering if the piece that the seller said is sterling has a back that is not sterling, but that the metal swirls on the decoration itself are sterling swirls. They seem to have a brighter shine.
I work setting up estate sales. The lady I help will do some research prior to the sale but would never printout ebay comps....ever! I have been to sales where they do that and will just walk away.
@Commonwealth Picker I tell you what, I just got a Commador 64 a TON of apple 2 games to include.... Oregon Trail!!! If your interested I'd let you have the first offer..
The universal sign was when he asked the lady about the price of the shoes at 23:12 and she immediately pulled out her phone to assumably base her price of the retail/resale prices online at a yard sale.
That belt buckle was not silver, it was pewter. Silver never looks like that, the lustre of silver is bright and shiny and pewter is dull silver grey looking like that belt buckle was. Secondly, no one arc welds brackets on silver.
Kind of an off topic comment here, but here it goes: I wish you guys that do these videos would maybe do a “show your rig” set up for how you wear your go pros and which brands you like. For us inspiring reselling RUclipsrs.
Did you ever see the movie Tin Cup, where Kevin Costner is a golfer? He gets the yips…and he can’t get rid of them. So he buys every silly golf instructional tool / gimmick possible. He had a hat with a ball swinging in front of it, and braces on his arms to keep them level, and a spacer between his knees, and a line on the ground, and a glove to hold his hands straight…. That’s what a reseller RUclipsr looks like.
Hey Kevin, Tupperware, the company, just filed for bankruptcy a while ago. Tupperware products might be plentiful while they liquidate their stock, then hard-to-find. They blamed their lagging sales on cheaper leftover containers flooding the market and a disappearing audience who want to have or attend Tupperware parties. I think I mentioned this to you a while ago, but I am not sure. Age appropriate memory, ya’ know! 😆
20:23 Unlikely to be silver. It looks like nickel/alpaca and she's dreaming, and if she's trying to get eBay prices she's delusional. As for the other lady, once the phone comes out and she's looking up prices it's a hard "no thanks" from any reseller looking to stay in business. She just priced herself out of any possible deal. She'll be stuck with them at the end of the day complaining that "people are so cheap". If we could pay 50% of retail we'd be in a store. With Kevin's expenses, I'd be looking to pay 1/10 my sale price. One more dime and I"m outta there. Resellers aren't cheap; they're looking at the bottom line.
I get irritated when you ask how much, and they immediately open their phone to look it up. If you're having a garage sale, know what you want for your stuff!
I watch and have subscribed to both your Picker and Flipper channels, but like the Picker ones the best. Love you Kevin!!!!!!!!! Someone should slap poor Dave around and make him more organized and less lazy! LOL.
LOL, Goodwill and other thrift stores won't even take those TVs. Heck our dump won't even let you dispose of them there. I do storage lockers and am glad to give all TV's away for free. They have no value. I have a scrapper that will take them off my hands. Seems like too much work to try and scrap them, to me.
Kevin, you should move to Florida, picker heaven. I'm afraid if you did, though, your entire business model would change because you certainly would be pickin more, almost all year long.
I thought that guy with you was your dad, you don’t really show his face but his body doesn’t look,Ike he’s as old as he sounds, lol if that makes ANY sense, he kind of looks like matt Kayla’s boyfriend from homeschool picker from behind, I doubt he’s like 68 but does sound older . I hope he don’t see this post! Lol where is your dad lately? Didn’t he used to pick and help you with sales? I think that was you that had your dad with you. Great video today guys, does the guy with you have a channel? I will support his too. 😊

It amazes me when I see people do what they did......As if the ASP to a small local market should match the price in the worldwide online yard sale better known as eBay.....When people act like they did I just leave, I don't care how good the crap they have.....there is always more later down the road.......
Yeah- and why put the yellow bag out with the ikea bag in it when it wasn’t for sale? Personally, I would have walked away saying I thought they were together He didn’t want to get rid of stuff
See me I do quick flips for at least a good double up on my money. I specialize in buying lots. I would have made a deal to take both of those boxes of CDs if I could get them for just a buck a CD. I wouldn't research or anything. My goal is to have enough meat on the bone to make it appealing for another reseller via an online platform.
You all are NUTS wanting to buy a hex key box. Even if it is Snap-On. It's EMPTY. I live in Kentucky. WE do NOT pay that kind of money for crap. I don't care what your phone said.

Can’t wait till garage sale season here in Michigan. I just enjoy watching all of your videos! Thank you Kevin and friends
Yeah - if they bust out an iphone to get the price right in front of me - 9 times out of 10 I'm walking away with nothing.
I would say BYE!!

Had a lady say buy it for 15 and sell for 20 because that’s what eBay showed her. Oh boy
People who have print outs of items they deem to be worth money can keep them. I look for the items that I can make at least $20 after fees.

How can people sell stuff if they don’t know what they want for it
Most of the time it means they really didn’t want to sell it, or thought no one would want it
The price gets lower as the day goes on.
They just expect you to sit then give em offer.
Some of those negotiations were painful.

Great garage sale video! Kinda funny when they aren’t sure if a price and make an offer?!

according to a really good furniture restorer I watch on RUclips, "You can never have too many clamps".

Those little jump start things are a great thing to have

I love mike, his sense of humor is killer.
And ya gotta listen closely because sometimes the funniest stuff is what he mumbles :-)
Hi Kevin you should have a card or at the very least put all your links on one sticker. Just a thought! Ty I love your videos. I’m in awe! 😮

Mike reminds me of my grumpy old uncle
It looked so warm there. I can’t wait for spring.
And the way that dude yelled out and the hangers? I hollered
Hi Kevin all the way from England watch you all the time .safe travels love to all the family I'm a long time subscriber too.
Another great video. Man I love going around with you and my namesake.😂🖖
I am shocked repeatedly that so many people have yard sales and don’t put prices on anything

Gd to see u both today. Some gd items. Best wishes xx
It’s fun to watch you pickin and you ask them how much for something and they don’t have a price for it and all they aaaaaaaaa
The portable TV was awesome 👌
You’ll need a decoder as the analog TV goes digital.
Got an email from ebay today and as expected, fees are going up again. No surprise there.

The universal sign was when he asked the lady about the price of the shoes at 23:12 and she immediately pulled out her phone to assumably base her price of the retail/resale prices online at a yard sale.
the ebay listings with the old women going "its Stirling its Stirling" is the sign to leave. blue corrosion on the back hmmmmmmmm.
@@AlRllama also valid
its pictures from ebay posts, around 20:00 mins you can see some ebay pitures

Hard to watch the negotiations between yall and the Harley merch seller.
Good to see yall got some good deals though.
Enjoyed the video kevin lov watching them all
Ten dollars for a couple of Tupperware lids? I had the original Tupperware with the "Seal" still embossed in the plastic.
I had to laugh at the Klein tools crate… “ those wheels are amazing” lol… he probably was a car sales salesman
I would have left at this point.😔
He was lol
I saw you sell that TV for $100 on your other channel. Nice flip. Sold fast.
It did
I love my two langenburg waste baskets
7:40 that spinning disco mushroom lamp is pretty valuable. I've sold 2 so far on ebay for around $80+
