    Awesome takeoffs and landings that sound amazing by these great pilots. I love the wing and engine view from the cabin. I also love the outside plane spotting as well. I did enjoy listening to and watching these pilots as they go over everything; it was very detailed. Beautiful view of the skies and landscape in this video. The business class looked amazing, and I love the cockpit of this A350-1000. The A350's are amazing and beautiful, and I hope to fly on one soon. The split camera views were great too. One of the best videos that I have seen - AND have seen 100s -- Thanks so much and THANKS for avoiding those constant terrible multiple split screens views.!! Retired from this business - was invited upfront on a A330 flight out of Stockholm for the first 20 min of flight. Yes the A350 flight deck is a great improvement indeed. Also spent time in a B787 - must say prefer the A350 - Though almost all of my time working was with antiques (B727s and 707s) Regards,

    • @justplanes
      @justplanes  4 года назад

      Thank you very very much for the lovely comment Scott, glad you enjoy our channel and have our DVDs! As far as your question, no the current ETOPS can put them 2-3 hours away from an airport but unless it's something to do with fuel its likely they would only lose 1 engine and would be able to continue flying until reaching the closest airport. If you remember the Air Transat A330 somehow ran out of fuel but luck was with them as they were able to glide to one of the islands in the Azores. They were close enough for this.

      @Valantir 4 года назад

      Pilot flying starts the throttles forward but you are Looking outside, so the pilot monitoring is guarding the levers from over torque or from creeping back, and then sets the precise power once you say “set takeoff power” or in a fancy plane like this makes sure the auto throttle takes over properly

      He is just making sure that the FO doesn't reduce the thrust too much. That's a bit annoying having captains doing that but this aircraft is captain's responsibility after all. I guess the right way would be to give inputs to the FO by talking to him instead of actually touching the controls.

  • @BIAZNAJ
    @BIAZNAJ 2 года назад

    I don't understand why the captain keep his right hand on the throttle when the first officer was the pilot flying and performed the approach on point à pitre, it seems like the captain don't trust on his first officer to manage the thrust during the visual approach...

    • @nickcockayne7880
      @nickcockayne7880 4 года назад

      @@karthikrsharma8327 Coming from a commercial pilot it’s best practice to keep someone on terrain regardless as you never know when you might be required to perform an emergency descent. You might not hit anything at FL380 but worldwide there is plenty of terrain above FL100 (where you will typically finish your emergency descent). In these cases you will have to level off at least 1000 feet above the limiting MSA (minimum safe altitude) or potentially more depending on wind strength. That’s why it never hurts to have a picture of the terrain below you for situational awareness. Over the ocean I agree probably not really necessary but doesn’t hurt and gets you into good practice.

      Ya thats the runway centerline... gives the pilot an indication he's right in the middle.

      Sounds like it’s wrecking hell on the front landing gear. It can’t be good for it on top of it being very annoying. I am sure they can do a better job with the runway centerline.
