- The Day Before is so bad, it doesn't even fit the same genre the developers promised it would.

The fact that this fake game apparently took 5 years of “development.” Is actually hilarious.
I think Sanraku should give it a try. See what he thinks.
5 years to make the trailer
Don’t give them credit, Yandere Shitulator took 9+ years and it’s still freaking awful!

They can actually do that now, since not everyone is going to refund the thing.
"We're happy with all criticism towards our game."
"Don't call us scammers and assest flipers."
>Proceeds to 'close their doors' and take all the money for 'debts'
They spent more years fighting an out of country lawsuit rather than developing a real video game.
It should be illegal to get away with scams like this
That's a paradox. If you are punished for a scam and getting away with it, you didn't get away with it. If you didn't get away with the scam, then you're in the clear and got away with it. The cycle repeats.

Just when I thought nothing could top gollum as worst game of 2023, this game comes out.
i still think gollum is up there
this game is just another zombie game with fake promises, while gollum is advertised to he proper game that is part of the LoTR canon
A game worse than skull Island rise of Kong and gollum combined. I thought id never id see the day!
Is it worse than The Walking Dead?
Rip to the people who spent more than two hours playing this game.
they played the game so that the world didnt have to
steam is giving refunds after the 2 hours, i got my money back, you just need to click other and right an email with some attached screen shots and stuff
@MickeyDee420 that's weird. Steam refund policy only let's you refund if you played for less than 2 hrs
@@Hyde-dg7ef i work as a remote agent similar to what there back end team might do. If I were the guy getting all those refund requests, I would send that straight to the top and get them to investigate before we got into any legal trouble. I assume they are burning loose ends by giving refunds to persistant people. mind you i didnt use the normal refund button, I used "i have a question about the community". This forces an actual employee to manually review your claim, all other claims are automated, despite what their description says. if the AI sees it over 2 hours your claim gets rejected, so i just skipped that and emailed a human being from steam.
@@Hyde-dg7ef they make exceptions for cases like this, NMS on release, stuff like that
This year I think we had a total of 4 worst games of the year, I don't think that there has been any other year that has had that before
2019 had some real stinkers
I think we had Redfall, Gollum, that King Kong game, and the latest Call of Duty?
Cod for sure
dont forget about the walking dead destinies
Here's the thing bad games get forgotten very quickly, this is honestly a normal amount of bad games that come out.
This was the most wishlists game on Steam up till the point when they showed off gameplayed earlier this year. It was just a guy walking around doing nothing for 20 minutes, everyone should of realized it was going to be awful if that's all they had to show.
Instead of the game awards we need a biggest flops awards
The funny thing is when the game crashes it’s under the name “UE Survival Game” not The Day Before which coincides with the game being a Unreal Engine asset flip
I come here to support the claim people make of the game being an asset flip. In fact, I even calculated how much they spent in total on assets. Well, for the assets I found that is at least, there may be more. But so far the total cost is 1416.20 USD in assets. This is not the final price tag for what they may have paid just to make a fake game be a real one and did it within a few months just so they can deliver on the barebones. These are Unreal Engine assets btw.
This should be pinned so more people can see this. There's a reddit post that shows the two asset packs they got and used for this game
@@ianmoone7041 If it's a 10 months old post, then that's what I found after I saw 3 assets by myself alone.
@@ianmoone7041the two assets on Reddit are the map and the UI, we believe they bought everything

2023 has been weird for gaming they're been good games, Great Games then there's those games who are competing against each other to showcase and prove " we're the worst game of the year" u think Gollum would easily take the Cake but no they're others far worse than that bravo man Truly
its worse than Gollum or that King Kong game? That would be impressive
If you’ve been in the pc gaming community long enough you start to notice games like this always come and go. Never live up to expectations. Always fun to goof around with friends though whenever they go on sale or just go free eventually.
The way Optimus describes this game sounds like the developers ripped off the Division.
And somehow made it more boring and shittier than the division
So it's a battle between golum, King Kong, the walking dead and now the day before
We need a game industry version of the razzies. If we have TGA for the industry equivalent of the Oscar’s we need the Razzies equivalent

With Golum and Kong , you at least know how bad they are before you buy them. This game is a straight up scam.
I distinctly remember it looked like an asset flip from the first few trailers, I honestly don't know what people are surprised with. this game shouldn't really be making any sort of news
They marketed this game as a Division game, yet what they put out was an Escape from Tarkov game with a side of Day Z.
The fact that the trailer we got 2 years ago (that you can't find through anything but IGN because the devs deleted it from the official The Day Before youtube) showed such good 'content' but seems like it was all fake and it wasn't where the game actually was. The trailer 2 years ago had:
Local voice chat that allowed enemies to hear (none)
Local radio chat (for teammates) (none)
Vaulting (none)
Physics simulations with debris flying everywhere (none)
Weather (Day/Night cycle only)
Hordes of zeds (currently 1-3 per block)
Crafting (None)
Modifying guns (actually exists)
Animated Finishers on players (none)
Repairing vehicles to drive around (none)
Drivable APC (none)
Different grounds that effect vehicles (none)
Binoculars (none)
Breakers to help turn on lights within buildings (none)
Sold it as a Survival MMO and its not. The max amount of players per 'server' is 36 currently. They have like hundreds of servers, and trying to connect to them is painful.
No mans sky- no mans buy
The day before- the day before I spent my $40
The Scam Before
i bet the game was developed for """laundry""" if you know what I mean.
You have to be very special to win this title when in the same year you have gollum, rise of kong or the walking dead game. It's crazy!
They outperformed Game Mill! That's a heck of an achievement
Someone said in another comment section. It’s called the day before because it was only worked on the day before release 😭
The day before refund should be a DLC
The difference between the day before and things like cyberpunk is that despite the terrible and I mean horrible state cyberpunk launched in it is and was as advertised. From the perspective they promised an open world they made it, they promised quests they made them they promised driving they had driving etc
These devs would be perfect for activision
This was a highly anticipated game that they set up mini trailers for and when released it bombed hard. Now it's too early to worry yet but we should be fearing about what's going to happen to the GTA VI. Because after the incident was cyberpunk it seems all the developers with these big highly anticipated AAA titles are all racing towards the bottom
Why did anyone expect a "fake" game with no footage and barely any promotion to be a good game?
Only way it will stop happening is gamers not paying for alpha access. Force devs to find proper publisher that will hold them accountable to roadmaps, release timelines, proper marketing etc
Never would i ever thought that there would be a game worse than CoD.
Im surprised i never heard of this game. I love zombie games so that fact I never heard of it, at the time, I was ashamed of myself. However, now that I know what this game is and how many people feel about it, perhaps it was a blessing. I only knew about the existence of this game a couple days ago when a youtuber I watch regularly uploaded it and wasn't a fan of it
As someone who's actually working on a "dream game" or wtv you want to call that kind of project, TDB was never anybody's dream game. Maybe excepting some of the people they scammed.
Theres a reason they released it after the game awards and at the end of the year
Typical greedy devs
this year these companies really want that worst game of the year award. We got Gollum, Kong and the day before. all neck and neck for 1st place. So for the first time ever, i say we award all 3 with worst game of the year. congratulations
This game made radbrad refund it, let that sink in
more like the day before i refunded 😂
Nice to see someone else who also watches theradbrad how are you doing my good sir?
correction,... worst video game, reveal and launch date of all time in my opinion.....i never planned on buying it i knew exactly how this would go. they literally had red flags for 2 yrs. just play 7dtd guys. At this point gaming is becoming a shitshow. we can't even get GTA 6 on pc so at this point i might check out of gaming for a while on pc and get more into my vr headset
Using toilets as musical chairs would have more entertainment value than this game.
Think of it like a car cyberpunk was like buying a car with a clapped out engine busted transmission and half functioning brakes with lights that don’t work half the time…
Even so those things can be fixed and have bern fixed..
The day before is like buying a cart and getting two moped duck taped totgeht with a cardboard car top and neither of the mopeds works
The latest info is an anonymous source claiming to be a dev on the game under NDA says the version on sale is the 0.1 alpha, and that the real game as shown in the trailer is locked away by angry devs who apparently were not paid. Unfortunately this sounds plausible, and explains a lot of things.
The worst part is the game itself. The constant alarms sounding off, the terrible loot, connecting to servers after the first wave, the pointless building system, the barebones customization, the fetch quests, the UI, not being able to adjust fps, the cost to buy anything and the lack of zombies in the world itself. It’s not a game but a cash grab. 40 dollars for this bag off you know what.
To quote their saying: " We accept any kind of criticism and don't hold a grudge against you."
I don't know about you but the way I see it, telling people not to accuse you of scamming, doing a asset-flip and believing you did nothing at all sounds like you're holding a grudge against people that criticize your game for being so bad and even calling you out.
Did they even read what they were gonna say in this?
They just put out a statement saying they were closing the studio. I figured they'd at least try to improve it before disappearing with the money lol
Five years, huh? Worked really hard, huh? Well, we all know that's BS.
~starts off the video with truths mission to burn the crop down ~ best mission in that game worst thing to watch happen.
From the gameplay you provided I think it looks pretty fun! Kinda reminds me of GTA
Haha.
Yeah the graphics aren't great, but it takes me back to gta san andreas
Future of gaming, folks 😂
I remember one guy saying it was going to be a scam based on the fact that they never showed real gameplay and weren't scripted.
At this rate, the game industry will go mainy obsolete in the mainstream, like that of hollywood due to lack of quality and timing of that quality being made.
No only all of this but the town and or map is a pack you can buy that came out like 3 years ago not 5.
This is what 5 Years of development took
Hehe. I guess you could call this game an "Asset-Flop." 😂

We have to stop the habit of praising games for doing something that should have been there since release
1:44 you literally just described the story of division
It sucks seeing this as a The Division player I was very excited for this though I already knew it was going to be a bit bad and buggy though I hate that it became an extraction shooter.
Also it isn’t the worst game but I will say it is definitely not the best game either knowing the issues and all that. Also yea that statement from the devs is bad and concerning.
I saw that Dr. Disrespect was actually streaming that game yesterday. I was really surprised to see that.
Gotta be real here. 2023 is a horrible year for gaming. The same year they decide to raise the average price to $70, is the same year the gaming industry decides to come out with the lowest barred games to promote that price tag.
Sad to hear this cause the game legit looked interesting, wish it was what was promised instead of this
you supported the developers with this... thank you for giving money to scammers!
This game makes Gollum look good lol 😂
Feel bad for anyone Who defended them up to this point
Technically it's not a scam though. Whoever paid for it still got a game out of it.
Want a real indie game that’s actually promising? War Of The Worlds, based on the 2005 a movie.
This game is basically just APB Reloaded but with Zombies. And less content.
Makes Gollum from gamemill look like a good game then😂
They're Pushin Positivity
If u wanna play a decent mmo zombie game, play project zomboid. Way better game
$40 is a complete ripoff for this "game"
The Day Before completes the trifecta of bad games with Gollum and Kong
What do you expect from a game that was controversial from the beginning of the first trailer especially when it comes to what people was saying who was working on it and not even getting pay and stuff like that. Plus taking different ideas from game's and developers.
Y'know what this reminds me of? Gun Jam. It's a rhythm FPS game. The levels in the final game were vastly different from what was promised in the trailer and the demo.
The amount of candidates for "worst game of the year" are loaded. There's a truckload of Skull Island: Rise of Kong-like titles in 2023.
Lay off the nightmare pills had me dyin 😂😂
you know what is funny this game didn't even have an actual dev team just a team of unpaid or under paid volunteers who made the entire game to my knowledge at least so don't take it with 100 percent truth but I am pretty sure it has been talked about by other creators
Don't think you use the word oxymoron correctly here. It would be more like if someone said their dream house was a nightmare house

You forgot Dead Matter lul
It cant be better then King Kong right?
This game took 4 years of bull$hitting and 1 year of editing preexisting assets into a poor copy of division. Coulda paid a fullsail intern to make a better game
5 YEARS
Perhaps it's somewhat fixable. However they need to actually put time and money into it. It's very clear that the game was rushed and is unfinished. With enough time and the money they got from the hype it might just be fixable. Getting more and more powerful servers, better graphics, settings, performance, story etc. I doubt they'd do it though
Games are fighting for worst game of the year harder then best game of the year.
Crazy, sad, and a shame man.
