very kind of you to say so! Thank you
Twister is one of my favorite movies. Can't wait to see Twisters. Thanks for the great review!
@@mmcwill1 excited for you to experience it!
This is a great review. I hope your channel grows!
@@TheeNam3less thank you so much!
i would give it 5/10. The Sound of the tornadoes in this one fell flat. The music made it feel more cheesy, and the story was boring. With original twister i felt like i was always at the edge of my seat but twisters failed to do that for me.
@@CoHostColby1 appreciate your assessment! I have affinity for sound design and can agree with you that this one was just OK. They definitely prioritized visuals. As far as the music, I like that they skewed more country but I did miss how Van Halen set the tone in the first.
After seeing it twice now, E.J. and Powell make for very winning presences both individually and together. I saw it the 2nd time purposefully in IMAX Thursday night just before its IMAX slots got taken over by DP 3.
On an industry note, I agree with your concern! I don't like the current and bizarre trend of filmmakers who are immediately handed big budget movies [1] right after their immediate previous features-well-received arthouse/indie films. What happened to gradually climbing up the skill ladder by making various medium-sized budgeted films in between like Denis Villeneuve had done? Because more often than not, this type of illogical upgrading results in cookie-cutter fares at best.
So while I'm glad that _Twisters_ was competently made, with L.I. Chung's [2] touches coming through, some big reasons that this movie is engaging enough is that it's well-shot and the editing gives its physical relations coherency. As such, cinematographer Dan Mandel and editor Terilyn A. Shropshire deserve a lot of credit.
*Footnotes*
[1] _Twisters_ costed $155M.
[2] His previous film is _Minari_ (2020)-A24 again!
The relentless country music blasting is not fun. The score of this film is very well-done and is easily up to the task of boosting its scenes. Honestly the country music is just shy of being unbearable.
Great review, I'm looking forward to seeing it

Keep this up. You're really good at it.
Wow thank you so much!
Thank you!
You did great! I hope your channel grows! The movie was trash! The thing is that they had 24 years to come up with a good story and deliver on the promise. They failed big time and i hope they never get their 200 million investment back.
