This one is my favourite from recent times, but this other one will live on as the most badass and memorable: ruclips.net/video/gRyrJ1AZy48/видео.htmlsi=I6FfltCH30jvn-IQ
I did genuinely quite like them until ME3. Their role should have been a bit more complex rather than just another enemy that gets in your way when the Reapers don't.
"They only told me last night." Must not cry. Must. Not. Cry. 00:37 *tear falls down* This is beautiful. Mass Effect 2 isn't the game of the year, it's the game of the fucking decade.
Watching this in 2016, i still have goosepums all over my body. I remember when i first played ME2 back in 2010 and i saw this scene, i almost cried...i was like "no....fucking....way....Normandy is back". One of the best franchses in gaming history (if not the best) :)
No matter how many times I play through ME2, I never, EVER skip this scene. After everything you, Joker and Normandy go through, it is one of the best Crowning Moments of Heartwarming and Awesome...and the musical score really just adds to the awesomeness :)
I remember playing this for the first time and almost crying at how happy I was the goosebumps I got are like nothing ever before this game is basically life, I play through it atleast once a year usually more though
This scene always puts a tear to my eye. The Music, the Scene itself, the Emotion seeing the Normandy reborn, they blend perfectly. i really hope they use the same orcistra for Mass Effect 3.
This is my favorite cut scene from the game. You definitely need to have played ME1 to get the most out of it. But when they reveal this ship to Shepherd for the first, the cinematic, the music, and the emotion attached to it, really make it so great!
Gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. The Birth of Normandy SR2.. this is amongst the top 5 moments of Mass Effect series. The Epicness starts from 1:16.
When i saw her dying, i was about to cry. And when Joker said 'and there's this', i just couldn't hold tears anumore =D Normandy - and may stars shine to you forever
Thank you for posting this. I have never had a scene in a game affect me like this. I fell in love with the SR-1 in ME1, and I was in shock when I saw her destroyed in ME2, only to reveal this beautiful ship. Everything in this scene only heightens the emotion, the music, the lights, it all left me breathless...
It's supposed to look messy, they were in the process of retrofitting it, and couldn't finish in because of the attack on earth. Also, I rather like the new colors. Besides the fact that blue is my favorite color, flying a Cerberus flag always rubbed me the wrong way.
@JasonX 117 Well, with the Citadel Dlc installed, I expected to have at least the cables removed, since the Normandy was supposed to undergo a drydock repairs. I mean how hard can it be to remove the crates, and isolate the cables under the deck?
When I played ME 2 for the first and when I saw this scene I was like OMG and I was so proud of Bioware and I almost cried, maybe because music is awesome :D
This scene alone cements Normandy with the other iconic spacecrafts of movies and games like the enterprise and Star Destroyers, as well as Battle Barges.
I think this reveal would have been so much more powerful if the death of Sheppard and the destruction of the original Normandy happened at the end of ME1 rather than 5 minutes before this scene. Would've been simply amazing to start playing the second game after a year or two when it was released and see the new Normandy appear.
***** If Shepard died in ME1 that would of been one of the shitiest endings, almost as bad as the ME3 ending. Who would buy the second game if they're chareacter dies in the first one? And Bioware can't spoiled it by saying don't worry, we'll resurect Shepard.
I think placing Shepard's death at the start of ME2 works because it adds to the uncertainty of the game right off the bat. Like, you've played ME1 and gotten close to all these characters that are near and dear to you, survived a suicide mission, everything went great... then ME2 opens up and you lose all that: your crewmates fly off in escape pods, your ship is destroyed and you lose Shepard. It puts you on the edge - what will happen? Who will I play as now? Then, building up your team again and getting used to this organization that's foreign to you... I think they were right to start ME2 with Shepard's death; it made for more interesting storytelling.
Is the SR2 the best ship ever? Probably. It definitely is the one that gave me the most goosebumps. This reveal was amazing. The way it looks, the sounds, and that final battle. Firing the main gun. Just couldn't react after that for a minute. Even if I had to.
Great cut scene indeed, very emotional, especially for people who played and finished Mass Effect 1. By the way, for people who didn't know, the SR in SR1 and SR2 stands for "Stealth Reconnaissance".
Illusive man: "Hey joker my friend, we got this shiny new Normandy 2.0 with your name on it...all you gotta do is sign this contract that says that under no circumstances are you to question any shady business practices we may attempt to sweep under the rug and that you will swear your loyalty to us!" Joker: "sounds reasonable"
I am on my 4th play through for the ME Trilogy but this time around in the Legendary Edition and even in 2023.. I still get emotional. ME one of the greatest games in human history.
God, this game had so many awesome moments... It's hard to choose which one topped the list! But yeah, without a doubt - this moment in the game came close to matching the reveal of the Enterprise in Star Trek... It was so cool that I couldn't wipe the grin from my face. The little shrill made by the flutes at around 0:46 gave me the chills, and for some reason reminded me of some kind of massive bird echoing in a hangar. Epic moment heading an epic game.
Every time I replay Mass Effect 2, I cry upon reaching this point. This scene has only Two rivals in all forms of media. When the NCC - 1701 - A U.S.S. Enterprise is revealed in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.. And when Honor Harrington first sees the H.M.S. Fearless Star Knight class heavy cruiser at the end of "On Basilisk Station"
Man this scene summarizes everything I love about mass effect, especially 2, twelve years on. This game darn near got everything right IMHO, every aspect of the game was fun (the combat, the dialogue, researching upgrades to make the upgrade system more immersive, the choice of squad members, scanning unknown worlds.. I could go on) and the pacing and buildup towards everything was spot on, the suicide mission (of course) then... This scene. All three games are art and really represent the pinnacle of space faring RPG's in my opinion. But I need not say what ME3 did to harm the legacy of this trilogy.
after half an hour in those weedy lil shuttles hopping from one serberus base to another and having lost all of the most iconic characters, you can imagine the grin when this happened.
Such a great scene, maybe the most impressive scene in that game. Love the normandy and this amazing episode of the ME trilogy... Great work Bioware, keep going
When me and the bois were playing the legendary edition of the game and saw the ship blow up we were depressed and then this scene made us all go “YEAH!” “NORMANDY’S BACK BABY!”
I have a strong feeling it has to do with music. When iconic music plays alongside a gaming moment, the emotion experienced is like a checkpoint in our gaming history that we can always refer back to. Indeed, nostalgic.
This is, without a doubt, my favorite scene in any game or even cinematic media. It builds up to one of the most climactic unveilings ever. It is truly a masterpiece, especially at 1:45. It is just amazing, a work of unparalleled art.
The Alliance frigates are all named after famous battles, e.g. the Battle of Normandy. The Alliance's way of referring to Humanity's history of conflict. The Normandy SV2 isn't an Alliance ship, but naming after the first Normandy just adds that extra bit of 'we're going to kick your ass'. Awesome.
When Normandy SSR-1 was destroyed, I was even more devastated than when Shepard died (I knew he'd be back, but I didn't know he'd get a new Normandy), but when Normandy SSR-2 was revealed, it made the whole thing worth it. She's a lovely lady with a whole lot of class, sleek as a bird, deadly as a raptor.
@Mojito133 you never see games that make a perfict mix of fps and rpg, as well as actually be FUCKING awsome. the music, the story, this game series is one of the few games i respect and always will respect.
@GameScenes You're kind of right. Microsoft Game Studios originally published Mass Effect in 2007 but in October of that year, EA acquired publishing rights for Bioware and their brands. Later in 2008, the PC version was released and was published by EA. EA, one of the biggest publishing/development gaming companies in North America, has far more cash to invest. This combined with Mass Effect's great success and popularity, allowed for bigger budgets and bigger studios for future titles.
This part of the game blew my mind. Such a good way to introduce SR-2 to the game. It reminded me a lot of the first time Kirk sees the Enterprise-A in Star Trek, what with the lights coming on sequentially to light the hull and all. Not to mention, SR-2 is way better-looking than SR-1 in general.
Every Sci-Fi has its own "The Ship" moment. But this one... this one will always be my favorite.
The Rocinante from The Expanse comes pretty close tho :P
@@R4Y2k The Rocinante looks like a nice little ship ^^
Say what you will about MEA, but the Tempest I reckon looks pretty damn cool, and maaaaabye the USS Voyager as well
This one is my favourite from recent times, but this other one will live on as the most badass and memorable:
ruclips.net/video/gRyrJ1AZy48/видео.htmlsi=I6FfltCH30jvn-IQ
I ALWAYS get chills when the beat drops. Such a good track for such a good scene
The moment everyone thought that Cerberus were actually ok.
+Simon Turner cerberus is still the best >:3
I did genuinely quite like them until ME3. Their role should have been a bit more complex rather than just another enemy that gets in your way when the Reapers don't.
Simon Turner yeah in me3 the illusive man wasn't very illusive
He became the Indoctrinated Man....
+Simon Turner He was indoctrinated through ME 2 as well.
One of best pieces of video game music ever created. And seeing the Normandy again just added to the goosebumps...
Nah I honestly think they should have had the trumpet part last longer.
I started the series with ME2, and even I realized then how fucking phenomenal a job they did. When you do your job well, _people notice._
"They only told me last night."
Must not cry. Must. Not. Cry.
00:37
*tear falls down*
This is beautiful.
Mass Effect 2 isn't the game of the year, it's the game of the fucking decade.
Still. 14 years later.
10 years later and it still gives me goosebumps. Every. Damn. Time.
+
Watching this in 2016, i still have goosepums all over my body. I remember when i first played ME2 back in 2010 and i saw this scene, i almost cried...i was like "no....fucking....way....Normandy is back". One of the best franchses in gaming history (if not the best) :)
Really? I was like "...wtf, Cerberus?".
They really want to 'bring Shepard back', it's just too suspicious to me. .
Nothing has changed
This scene always brings a tear to my eyes.
Still love this song.
Still love this game.
Still playing.
Still hate ending.
Still watch "We celebrate our heroes " ending.
+Goran Mitic I'd never seen that ending. Thanks for the tip!
+Anonymous it's a fun made
I am with you on that!
But the EC ending isn’t bad...
Mass effect is the story of a sister trying to avenge her big sister who she never met.
When i go pick my car in the car-wash
Normandy sr2. cerberus master piece. and now the queen of alliance fleet.
Joker may take the helm but Me and Gabby are the reason SR2 flies smoothly.
No matter how many times I play through ME2, I never, EVER skip this scene. After everything you, Joker and Normandy go through, it is one of the best Crowning Moments of Heartwarming and Awesome...and the musical score really just adds to the awesomeness :)

I’ve always loved the SR2. SR1 is the OG. But the Cerberus version was my favorite. It’s a work of art.
This scene rivals the reveal of the Enterprise A in the end of Trek IV
This is my favorite cut scene from the game. You definitely need to have played ME1 to get the most out of it. But when they reveal this ship to Shepherd for the first, the cinematic, the music, and the emotion attached to it, really make it so great!
I still remember crying when I first saw this scene
Every time I see this cutscene it still gives me the same chills when I saw the Normandy SR2 for the first time when ME2 came out almost a year ago.
You know they made one hell of an incredible game when this scene still gives your 40 plus years old ass goosebumps.
Chills...
14 years on and i still get chills when that theme kicks in
Thank you for posting this. I have never had a scene in a game affect me like this. I fell in love with the SR-1 in ME1, and I was in shock when I saw her destroyed in ME2, only to reveal this beautiful ship. Everything in this scene only heightens the emotion, the music, the lights, it all left me breathless...
how the alliance ruined the normandy sr-2 (in mass effect 3)
-scratched the color
-less lights
-all those cables hanging around
it just looks messy
It's supposed to look messy, they were in the process of retrofitting it, and couldn't finish in because of the attack on earth. Also, I rather like the new colors. Besides the fact that blue is my favorite color, flying a Cerberus flag always rubbed me the wrong way.
+plmokm33 I would've loved to see how it looks after the retrofit.
@JasonX 117 Well, with the Citadel Dlc installed, I expected to have at least the cables removed, since the Normandy was supposed to undergo a drydock repairs. I mean how hard can it be to remove the crates, and isolate the cables under the deck?

mass effect at its best
Really, you could not have asked for a better cut scene to kick off your galactic adventure. It's really just perfect.
This scene.. The music.. The Ship.. I still shiver and tear up every time.. Every. Time.
the way Normandy is lighting up is freaking epic
When I saw the SR1 destroyed i was like damn, well that sucks. Then when I saw this scene I was like, oh hell yes!!
This scene alone cements Normandy with the other iconic spacecrafts of movies and games like the enterprise and Star Destroyers, as well as Battle Barges.
That scene when the Normandy leaves the Hanger is just beautiful
Heroic tears
I think this reveal would have been so much more powerful if the death of Sheppard and the destruction of the original Normandy happened at the end of ME1 rather than 5 minutes before this scene. Would've been simply amazing to start playing the second game after a year or two when it was released and see the new Normandy appear.
***** well, I don't think they planned it. But I agree..... the scene was awesome but it lacked the weight in emotions-
***** If Shepard died in ME1 that would of been one of the shitiest endings, almost as bad as the ME3 ending. Who would buy the second game if they're chareacter dies in the first one? And Bioware can't spoiled it by saying don't worry, we'll resurect Shepard.
+DJatomica I'd say it would've been cooler, although i suppose the narrative works better this way.
I think placing Shepard's death at the start of ME2 works because it adds to the uncertainty of the game right off the bat. I want a bedroom like Shepard's personal quarters T_T
The moment I saw the Normandy SR-2 for the first time is basically one of the best memories I will remember whenever I think about Mass Effect 2.
Ive seen this so many times.... always gives goosebumps.
Is the SR2 the best ship ever? Probably. It definitely is the one that gave me the most goosebumps. This reveal was amazing. The way it looks, the sounds, and that final battle. Firing the main gun. Just couldn't react after that for a minute. Even if I had to.

By the way, for people who didn't know, the SR in SR1 and SR2 stands for "Stealth Reconnaissance".
The music in this whole damn scene, I swear!
I cried when I saw that the normandy was reborn! My heart just stopped when the old Normandy got destroyed! It's the best scene in the game EVER!
This cut scene alone gave me goosebumps
Jeff "Joker" Moreau... best pilot in the universe AND a rockstar! :P
This makes me wanna play Mass Effect series all over again.. :D
Go for it man.
Um on 11 th play through and I don't regret it.
This was propably the best moment in Mass Effect 2. The music and the lighnting, almost cried when this scene first came.
Illusive man: "Hey joker my friend, we got this shiny new Normandy 2.0 with your name on it...all you gotta do is sign this contract that says that under no circumstances are you to question any shady business practices we may attempt to sweep under the rug and that you will swear your loyalty to us!"
Joker: "sounds reasonable"
With the remaster, we can now have this scene in full 4K Ultra glory.
One of the greatest scenes of all time. And yes, i'm talking about movies too
I am on my 4th play through for the ME Trilogy but this time around in the Legendary Edition and even in 2023.. I still get emotional. ME one of the greatest games in human history.

Epic moment heading an epic game.
This is such an epic curscene. The person/persons who created tge music for this game our geniuses!
my god the music just does it for me, it's so freaking epic.
When I first saw the new Normandy... I weeped tears out of joy. It gave me chills. :,)
Most awesome moment of the first rough hour of the game.
Never thought a scene about a space ship could give me goosebumps! Great music.
this gives me shivers down my spine and makes me smile
This is where the adventure Really started. The first game was good but the second one is where it really took off for me.
That scene makes you feel so good. XD my god! Why didn't know know about mass effect sooner
I could watch this scene a million times and never stop being in awe. THAT my friends is a beautiful thing.
One of the most epic moments in videogame history
Man this scene summarizes everything I love about mass effect, especially 2, twelve years on. This game darn near got everything right IMHO, every aspect of the game was fun (the combat, the dialogue, researching upgrades to make the upgrade system more immersive, the choice of squad members, scanning unknown worlds.. All three games are art and really represent the pinnacle of space faring RPG's in my opinion. But I need not say what ME3 did to harm the legacy of this trilogy.
The moment a video game bring back one of the best spaceship named after your region and history
shivers go down my whole body whenever I hear this
Film and video game come together. One of the most beautiful scenes in Mass Effect 2, of course after the final video of the suicide mission...
after half an hour in those weedy lil shuttles hopping from one serberus base to another and having lost all of the most iconic characters, you can imagine the grin when this happened.
Such a great scene, maybe the most impressive scene in that game.
Love the normandy and this amazing episode of the ME trilogy...
Great work Bioware, keep going
0:35 a really epic moment in this Game
When me and the bois were playing the legendary edition of the game and saw the ship blow up we were depressed and then this scene made us all go “YEAH!” “NORMANDY’S BACK BABY!”
"It's good to be home, huh Commander?"
I was happy when I seen the Normandy in a new body I had goosebumps
My heart jumped when I saw the Normandy... So utterly beautiful, gives me chills!
This is proof that video games are a real art form, that can have a story that makes you really care. My eyes got watery the first time I saw this.
I watched this vid on 5.1 sound, fullscreen, and in complete darkaness. It's overwhelmingly EPIC!!!
Dude, when they angled for that nebula, I was just thinking: "Bring those Reapers on!"
Best scene ever. IMO. Music just wins it in the unveiling of the SR-2
Goosebumps. Every single time.
I almost cried in this part, after one year since the first game. =x
The Normandy looks like a lobster flying backwards to me. I just can't unsee that.
I tear up every time I see this.
Its the normandy...I love that ship so much.
Mass Effect is more than just a Epic game
It's a legendary series , never ends
is it just me or everyone else thinks that Normandy is the most majestic and the beautiful spaceship that we ever saw??!
Awesome.
Scene gives me goosebumps! :D
SR2 > SR1 (especially with all the upgrades) XD
I dont know who the fuck was the realization director, but fuck me this scene was peak PEAK
i can see this theme playing when king stannis walks in to the throne room and sits on his throne for the first time
When Normandy SSR-1 was destroyed, I was even more devastated than when Shepard died (I knew he'd be back, but I didn't know he'd get a new Normandy), but when Normandy SSR-2 was revealed, it made the whole thing worth it. @Mojito133 you never see games that make a perfict mix of fps and rpg, as well as actually be FUCKING awsome. the music, the story, this game series is one of the few games i respect and always will respect.
With this music I think that the Normandy can say that it is at the height of the Millennium Falcon and the Enterprise :)
Haha, I only got the game today, but seriously, I pretty much cried with joy during the cutscene. Bioware really knows how to make heroic moments.
when i first saw this part i got the shivers. i was like, holy!!!! the normandy! and it even didn't have the name on the side!
This is my favorite scene in ME2. Nothing says "Shepard is back!" like this scene.
@GameScenes You're kind of right. Microsoft Game Studios originally published Mass Effect in 2007 but in October of that year, EA acquired publishing rights for Bioware and their brands. "I guess we'll have to give her a name"
The best cut scene in ME2.I almost cry when I saw it in game.
