My goodness, how she's grown! I saw her on AGT at a much younger age. She was good then and better now. How sweet is it that she had her father with her? As a veteran I am grateful that she did this benefit for us. Great video and review Jennifer! Keep being a bright spot in people's lives!

I am spoiled listening to Amira so much. When I hear other singers they just don't seem to have the same quality of voice that she does. Amazing. I am a grateful veteran.
I have mentioned a number of times before after I had listened to Amira's singing,that I find it difficult to listen to other singers,more or less in Amira's age group and some of the older well known ones.What impresses me so, is that she is always calm and relaxed,the beautiful Amira smile and the aura which surounders her.Reguards from, Michael Jonathan Lewis, Allan's-Nek, Roodepoort, J H B, South Africa.

This was from a steaming concert, with artist around the world. It was a tribute for 9/11 attacks here in the US. Also, to the veterans around the world. Said the music is therapy. I am not a veteran, but it does help me with my ills. Love your reaction
it is a full-scale soprano voice and performs each posenke so professionally and masterfully
Nice reaction! Amira has mastered a vowel change technique in an extraordinary way, as only great singers can do. Embellishment techniques when used well, as Amira does, add beauty and consistency to the melody. Amira, for example, also often brings the vowels E and O further to the center, to a more neutral position, generating a lower and more ethereal sound, with a unique and captivating result. Absolute perfection, IMHO.
This was my first time hearing this artist. Amazing voice! When that voice started coming out of her I was gobsmacked! And an on point reaction from you, as usual. Loved this one Jen!

Thank you Jennifer, Amira gives many, and me, the ability to believe that things will improve inevitably and it is wonderful to hear you analyze her technique which enables us to FEEL that she means what she sings. She saved me from depression and now you are helping her to keep our spirits up. Her voice has a spiritual quality that improves the lives of so many people.
Thank you once again for a lovely reaction video, Jennifer. Please react to Amira's version of "La Vergine Degli Angeli" by Verdi, accompanied by an all male choir. As with When You Wish Upon A Star, it shows how much Amira's voice has matured over time. I've heard some opinions being expressed that she might end up being a mezzo soprano when her voice reaches final maturity in her 20's. I just thought of that when you mentioned how easily she reaches those low notes.
I am so glad you tell us how she uses her voice which is so beautiful. I enjoy your critiques thank you . She has such a great and beautiful way of singing with such ease and how she feels each song she sings from her heart with an inner tenderness. How special that her dad accompanied her wich made it even more special. Yor voice is lovely as well.
Thank you. A very interesting analysis. As a long time fan of Amira and her voice but no knowledge about voice myself, I do love a reaction like this which analyzes her singing. It makes me all the more appreciative of the work that goes into her seamless intended singing. Yes to date there have been odd words in her songs like you explained about the a as opposed to ue in the final word true here. Is it perhaps something 'on her list' to yet fully master without losing the effect of the note? Whatever the reason, I love that last note and the way she brings in the vibrato on it and then it fades down without losing any evenness! Just gorgeous.

This reminds me of the 1950's when I was a kid, watching Walt Disney on Sunday night. This song always ended the show and it was time for bed and school on Monday morning. What a gorgeous voice!! How old is she?, fourteen?

Great reaction Jenn, you help to clarify many of my own thoughts and feelings as regards to Amiras' voice.
I think it would be very interesting to go back and listen to several of her breakthrough performances. Pieces where Amira seemed to take a big step forward in her technique and ability.
She has always had incredible control of her voice and her use of her vibrato all the way back to her first performances on Holland's Got Talent at the age of 9 before she every had a single lesson and even knew what "spinning" her sound even meant.
Give a listen to Ave Maria for English Speaking viewers from 2013.
This was her second performance after she had one masterclass with the conductor Andre Rieu who admitted he knew nothing about singing but helped her a lot with how to handle transitions and when to extend notes...
Anyway, love your approach to your reactions to the 2 As, Amira and Angelina. The third A in this amazing group is Alma Deutscher who has been composing concertos, operas and operettas since she was 6 or 7 years old and was a world class violinist and pianist before she reached her teens.
Of the three, Amira is my first choice, my favorite. To me there is just something in the quality of her voice and her interpretation of the music that touches something inside, that connects with human emotions in a way few singers do.
Angelina is similar while having much more freedom to interpret the music because of the style and genre she sings. I think Amira has a more difficult and subtle approach to her music if that makes any sense.
Anyway, Thankyou again for your reactions to Amira. Looking forward to your next one.

I wonder how much of the pronunciation is down to her Dutch Ness. English is not her natural language. Great reaction, analysis, and lovely performance too. There are several videos of her singing with her dad playing piano, organ , or accordion. He's been so supportive of her.

Just a bit of information. Amira and her mother moved to her mother's native South Africa. Her parents separated at that time. Her father stayed in the Netherlands. so here he has come to South Africa to accompany his daughter for this concert.

Por suerte losque no sabemos de técnica vocal disfrutamos y nos emocionamos con la dulce , clara y limpia voz de Amira , y no le andamos buscando la quinta pata al gato , como decimos en mi pais ( Argentina ) . Eso queda para los expertos como Jennifer . Si en el video de Amira con Andre Rieu le hubieramos dado importancia al hecho de que por momentos se equivocaba en la letra , no tendría en estos momentos los 66 MILLONES DE VISTAS que tiene hoy . Another point I thought about is that at this time, Amira was still wearing teeth braces which must make it more difficult for diction I imagine...

As long as you’re not wishing on the brightest star in the sky, you have a chance of getting your wish. I love every expression beyond your standard camera smile. Your dynamics as singer are just as powerful & even more as I adore you. I don't adore singer's you critique. I experience better vowel control at different pitches. I am a dufus singer compared to you all.
