Sorry this is not always correct. If from a closed stance you drop the ball low and hit it with the upper part of the paddle while swinging through hard, you impart heavy top-spin to the ball that helps it clear the net at a very high speed. Keep your eye on the ball and swing through just as you describe in this video. Hold the paddle with a continental grip low on the handle to give more leverage. Transfer of weight etc. remains the same as you describe. I am generating immense speeds with this technique. Yes, if the racquet grip is held loosely and the head of the paddle initially parallel to the ground or facing the back fence you will generate even more power if you whip through with a lag.
Well explained. Thanks for sharing.
sir sir i live in FLORIDA i ain't gonna be able to go to texas for your paddleball lesson
Interesting, some pickleball coach suggest very low beginning and swing like baseball underhand pitcher style.

@@allamerican3100 Ok, I'll bite. Explain to me how your answer is edifying. What does it mean?
@@PaulBCohen put the paddle in your hand and grip it and rip it.
I agree it's illegal to toss the ball up and you have to contact the ball below your waist duh
It is not illegal. What you're referring to was a rule enacted by the PPA in their tournaments. The ball is being struck well below the navel.
It is illegal to toss the ball up on the serve.
No, it’s not.
only in the PPA. USAPA rulebook says you can't toss the ball up on a drop serve, it's fine for a volley serve. Still can't spin the ball though
