Nina's Great-Grandfather Nikita Khrushchev vowed to "bury" America. As Russia and China are trying to do the same these days, I have a question:
Why did the West get rid of the Iron Curtain, the ONLY time proven winning policy against totalitarianism?

    • @xpsxps1339

      Of course, she did!
She is Russian, for God's sake! People like her should preferably be those we are getting the info about this situation from. She is Russian, which means she speaks Russian and understands the country mentally, culturally, and politically. We should rather forget American "pundits" who cannot say a word of Russian and have never even been there once but somehow miraculously obtained the reputation of the specialists on the topic.

My sister-in-law is Russian. I have family and friends in both Russia and Ukraine. This woman is absolutely right. The level of despair/denial in Russia right now is unreal. Most people are either terrified or literally cannot accept what's happening. As in they believe everything is fake news and that no one is actually dying and it's all just a drill. The Russian people are sad and confused and most of them don't support Putin one bit. They just want peace. Scarily, I've also lost contact with one of my friends in Ukraine. She hasn't responded to any of her social media in two months and no one can get ahold of her family.
Update: My friend and her family are alive! They have left Ukraine and are currently making their way to Germany.

This world needs peace, we become an interstellar species then a war with nukes can be waged, for now, we must accept that Russia wants Crimea, Ukraine should accept that, they cannot fight against the whole of Russia, they can get others involved.
As for NATO they should distant themselves away from Russian borders until they are happy to join, for now, we must witness these crimes committed, the death playing out and those suffering must find closure.
Earth and humanity is not worth a world war 3 over in Ukraine, it's not the time, we need to help each other our in this life, even the elites know a bunker is just a quick rich scheme for those who make them, ever a nuke gets used, let me know where ground zero is

It wasn't irrelevant though and she didn't "bat" it away. The interviewer didn't understand her answer, and neither do you. The crux of her argument is that it is a matter of worldviews and philosophical paradigms. Putin's apparent irrationality to us is due to viewing through the bias of our own worldviews. This is important because it is the fundamental failure of Putin, as well. His miscalculations are due to operating by a set of logic principles that are not applicable to a large amount of the rest of the world.

The entire point is that the protocols by which Putin, and really, Russian governance for a century now, operate is not suitable for its interactions with the rest of the world. The thing is, we have a whole lot in our own nations' structure we can argue the same.

I just think sometimes the media wants to simplify issues by applying categories/labels (just as other or many people do by calling someone a "lib" or whatever) -- Interviewer sets up first question as "Biden says Putin rational. Macron says he is irrational. Why is this an important question?" Her first response "It's not that important" (batting away this question of labeling Putin) and then she goes on to give a more substantive response based on Putin's background and so on.
