2009 - 2010 Toyota Corolla How to Replace rear engine mount-most difficult one.
    Pros & Cons
    Good on gas
    Comfortable front and rear seats
Some competitors have more standard interior features
    2010 Toyota Corolla Overview
The Toyota Corolla is an ideal choice for shoppers who want a basic sedan that will take them to work or school and back. Test drivers said its standard 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine has decent acceleration, and it has good fuel economy ratings of up to 26/35 mpg city/highway. The Corolla also has a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that reviewers said is noticeably more powerful than the base engine.
Inside, reviewers said the Corolla has good cargo space and comfortable front and rear seats. It comes with air conditioning and a four-speaker stereo, which is decent for the class, but some of its competitors also have an auxiliary input jack and power windows and door locks on the base model. Higher trims and option packages add power windows and door locks, keyless entry, cruise control, steering-wheel mounted audio, Bluetooth and cruise controls, navigation and an upgraded stereo with MP3 playback capability and satellite radio. The Corolla has lots of standard safety features, like electronic stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist.
    Other Cars to Consider
The 2010 Hyundai Elantra, which received the 2010 U.S. News Best Compact Car for the Money award, is pretty similar to the Corolla. The Elantra has one of the most spacious cabins in the class and a large trunk. One thing that distinguishes the Elantra from the Corolla is that the base Elantra doesn’t have as many safety features.
While you can’t go wrong with the Toyota Corolla, you may want something that’s more fun to drive and has better gas mileage. If that’s the case, the 2010 Mazda3 may appeal to you. It has the peppy performance the Corolla lacks, but still maintains some practicality. It has a higher safety score than the Corolla and reviewers said it has a quality interior with comfortable front seats, though the rear ones are cramped. There’s also a hatchback model with good cargo space.

There’s three bolts behind that hold on the bracket on the engine itself, I removed that after loosening the mount and was able to pull it out the top instead of messing with the subframe, slow to get at but it works

I just did mine on a 09 corolla XRS. What I did is un bolt the mount from frame and wiggled it up… then wiggled one Down. Then took center bolt off front mount and BAM! It worked.

Future reference it's worth extra 30 minutes. Just remove exhaust bolts there and the holder further down. Cones right out.

Rusty, I need to do this work. I've replaced the other 3 mounts but this last one is a challenge. I too was watching and thinking about disconnecting the exhaust pipe so I could swing out the way to pull out the mount. Did you have to loosen the subframe bolts like this gentleman did? Any reply appreciated.

So my kids 09 corolla xle was vibrating really bad. Found out the other 3 mounts not in this video were completely shot..like literally falling apart. I haven't put this mount on yet but I've also put a new alternator and belt. There is still vibration inside when driving but only when at a stop light or stop sign with the ac/normal air/heater is on. Can't seem to pin point why it vibrates still under those conditions. Any pointers on what I should be looking for next? No engine light or codes currently.

I have a 09 Corolla Le just got the rear engine Mount replaced like the one in video today… before getting the new part my car would vibrate really hard at low speeds and while idling especially with the ac on… after the replacement it feels like a new be vehicle… No vibrating at all… You may want to check this mount.. I didn’t have any codes either

Your car is just trying to dance to the beat of the music from the AC! Maybe it's just got some funky moves.

I'm not gonna lie, I was laughing when i saw the first of your comment. Im not because of making fun of you, i was laughing cuz you remind me when i was doing that job. That job is something else. Yeah....I agreed 👍, toyota had some ridiculous designs that make you wonder if an engineer made it that way.

Some argue the rear mount is the most important, it’s probably place that way for optimal performance

It's difficult til certain point because it's tight. Unless you remove things, you won't deal with all this.....it was more like a puzzle to me the way I did...I had fun tho.

I basically did the same thing. But it god is it a pain in the ass to get those bad boys back in. Toyota is a a great company with a great product (the Apple of cars if you will) but I swear pulling the engine would be an easier job then this. Especially if you don’t loosen the sub.
In short, the most poorly designed part of these rollas. The car is otherwise a 10/10

This mount is a bugger. It also prevents you from being able to remove the transmission. Trying to do this without dropping the cross members....no lift.
Best solution just cut off the long bolt when you raise the mount with a pry bar. Remove the passenger axle for more space. Sawzall worked great. Grind off old long pressed bolt from removed or replacment mount and drill out and add a 3/8 grade 8 bolt/nut Much easier.

Yup! I thought about that but if you hole is big enough, I can pull it in n out!!! PAUSE!
