    I've just started making my own Paracord Rosaries after having bought Rugged Rosary products. They make great rosaries, but I like the feeling of making my own. I don't sell them, but I do gift them to special people in my life. Your video was helpful to me, especially the finishing of the end Crucifix knot and the twisting that I got in my earlier rosaries. I want them to not twist, and you helped me with that. God bless you for doing this.

    Qs: Any problems with going 1 wrapping less with the barrel knot to make a smaller knot? And, are you doing anything special if a metal center piece is to be included, separating the decades and the crucifix tail?

    • @realholyrosaries
      @realholyrosaries  4 месяца назад

      No you can indeed do just 2 wraps instead of 3 when tying the barrel knot and it won’t effect the strength of the rosary at all. The strength of the rosary will however be affected if you add a traditionally styled rosary centerpiece onto it with little rings or something similar. However there are in fact centerpieces made specifically for paracord rosaries that function similar to a bead

    Have you ever made a 20 decade rosary. I am going to attempt to make one since i've been praying the entire rosary everyday. Do you happen to know the length of paracord i would need for this? I have a very large roll of black paracord. I don't want to just cut anymore cuz i'd be worried that i cut it too short and don't want to waste the cord bcuz i plan on making a couple more after this one.

    Thank you so much for this! I was trying to make some for giveaways using plastic pony beads but I think the hole must be just a smidge too small, because no matter how pointy I made the paracord I could NOT get both strands through! But I just melted the short strand after the central knot and made sure to melt it onto the knot a bit…I think it will be ok. Really appreciate the video and all the resources!

    Looks awesome and so much easier! Couple of questions.
    1. Do you put the 2 in crucifixes from the evangelist store on the 550 paracord rosaries or are they too small?
    2. Where do you find the gold and bronze beads? What hole size are they? And do they work on 550 paracord?
    Thank you! I look forward to hearing from you!
    *Edited cause I found two of my questions when I rewatched the video lol

    • @realholyrosaries
      @realholyrosaries  Год назад

      1. Yes I do use them and they are big enough. You can also use 3in crucifixes which I use from time to time but those are harder to find and more expensive.
      2. I bought some brass hand turned “gold” beads on Etsy a while back that were great but expensive. For 550 cord you’re going to want to at least get a 4.5mm hole in the 8mm bead

      Yes, I normally use either small lobster clasps that are attached to the rosary to attach it to belt loops. Or I use “S” shaped key ring hooks to hang bigger rosaries (aka 20 decade rosaries, which I have done before). Funny thing happened to me today this lady asked me she wanted a Paracord rosary 📿 I was so excited right so what o did I didn’t have enough the metal to use on the rosary so I use a acrylic beads and for the our fathers I use the metal she seem happy with it but then after she asked me for a rosary bag but I was so nervous I forgot it at home so by the time I came back and give her the bag she says oh I change my mind this is fake I’m like huh 😮 then she explained to me she wanted a stone one 🤦🏻‍♀️ well I’m just starting making these I don’t know anything about it yet so I lost a sale because I use acrylic. im almost finished with my first rosary. i have a question. on the part where you close the five decade rosary on the center. where you have the long and short string to tie. you tied the long one over the short one. I did the oposite I tied the short one over the long one. did i do something wrong? will it fall apart. I pulled on it and it seems to be ok. thanks for the video.

      It could theoretically slip out if you tie the short one around the long one. But if you don’t need a super strength rosary then you should be fine

    Wondering if we can use 550 paracord with those beads that you use or does it need to be 325?? Thanks

    • @realholyrosaries
      @realholyrosaries  Год назад +2

      I the beads that I linked in the description work really well with 325 paracord. And they will work with almost every 550 cord brand, as long as it’s not too thick there shouldn’t be a problem

      @@realholyrosaries that would be great its actually an orthodox prayer rope i don't see anything forbidden by the Vatican on Roman Catholic using this prayer rope as many estern (orthodox) catholic still use it so...

      Yeah I agree, it doesn’t look like there’s anything prohibiting Catholics from praying it. If I did make one would you want me to make it with beads (probably stainless steel) or tied knots? Also how many beads? It seems like most of them are just a cross with either 33,50, or 100 beads without any sort of our father looking bead

      @@realholyrosaries i don't really know how they tradition made them but i too see some beads on them for "our father"...but mainly the knots are seen....even tying each knots you have to say a prayer...
