Great video! Your new home is so beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing! Love your channel! My family probably will move to Tauranga, NZ from US in 1-2 years. Best wishes to you and your lovely family!
Beautiful home there in Papamoa. I just can't believe the amount that Kiwis pay in rent. I hope you two are earning a decent income as NZ is well known for having below average wages, compared to the cost of living. All the best in the new house and hope the baby on the way is doing well.
The reason the rental prices are so high is the area where you decide to live. The Main cities like Auckland, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo Wellington, and Christchurch are either major or Tourist cities however in the urban regions rental prices can range from 400-600 per week for a 3-4 bedroom house, If you are deciding to move to NZ from overseas and have either family or friends that live in NZ, that also live near where you want to live you could ask them to look for houses for you while you finalize your move, so you get a good idea about what's available and how much you will be paying to, and remember currency exchange is also a factor. As a multi-Rental Homeowner, the quality of homes is also limited by region, as well, as many new migrants, choose to live in the major cities. if you can maybe choose to live just outside a major city where the prices are less expensive, just a through. wonderful video and great content. I live in Taranaki which is on the west coast central North Island where rental prices are not as high rentals for a 3-4 bedroom 1 bathroom '90s built house will cost around 400-550 a week but that is the median price the newer the house the more it will cost.
Love the layout and I'm especially impressed with the garage to pantry access. It's all wide open and fresh and clean. Yeah, I'm just a little envious.😆. If l hadn't recognised your voice it would have been a bit of a mystery tour for a time. Suggest you always let us see your smile at the start as you explain what's coming. It help to personalise any video. Keep 'em coming - enjoying your journey.👍🏻💖
That's usually the case in situations like that where there's a house at the back, especially when someone has a large section and then puts a house on the giant backyard they don't need, which has been very common in Auckland. But it's also possible that the house was built as part of a large development project, in which case the land might have been individually sectioned and might well include the driveway.
@@michaelheliotis5279 agree d I used to administer the engineering aspects of the RMA for the Manukau City Council way back when. Papamoa has a lot of greenfields subdivisions so it may just be a small section

I wouldn't live in or near Greerton or Judea. Crime rate. Maungatapu has some great sea views. Mansions going up everywhere along the Mt and Papamoa foreshore, so thankfully not everyone is scared off.
@@albertopsi75 That is a typical middle class home in NZ, Young professionals starting a family, so really perfect for these two. Many Kiwis could not afford this, but for what it is and where it is that is a pretty reasonable price
@@chrisharris1522 Thanks. My family and I are in the process of planning a future move to NZ. However, we are Brazilian, so these prices really seem scary at first. I live in a very noble area in the capital of Brazil but renting my nice apartment here would not cover even half of this rent. But it really helpful. Kind of gives a good perspective of hum much is needed.
@@albertopsi75 depending on the location a typical rental price would be 400-500 NZ dollars per week, of course there are cheaper houses and more expensive. This couple have rented an almost brand new home in a very desirable area in a very desirable city so honestly for what they have that is a fair price. You really can’t compare what you are paying in Brazil one to one as other factors such as earning and other living expenses would come into play. But in general housing in NZ is regarded as being on the high side price wise but NZ is by no means the only place in the world experiencing this right now.
The whole coast of NZ is a Tsunami risk, that wouldn't stop me living near water. Plan your escape route before the big shake. Those beaches are gorgeous, I have enjoyed swimming there in the past. There are many types of natural disasters possible anywhere, inland as well. Balance your risk / benefit ratio, I guess is what I am saying.
Ha, true, but then again you have more chance of dying from a car accident so not something to lose too much sleep over. Thousands of property all over NZ on coastlines, it’s where most people simply like to live, hence higher prices there compared to inland. Papamoa beach goes for miles and it’s rather beautiful but as you indicate, not everyone wants to live near the beach.

Hey Newly's! Thank you for the house tour. Looks great! Glad to see ya'll comfy n safe.
Keep up the good work. Till next round. BLESS!
Nice place, been years since I've been down that way, looks like a lot of new builds around there
Wow, that house is beautiful!
Gorgeous house!
I don't think carpeted garages are a thing,it might come down to personal preference, it's a good idea though.
Hi, thank you for useful tips. Would you tell us how much you pay for utilities ? All the best, :-)
I suspect that your driveway is what's called a right of way and your house is on what's called a cross lease section

$750 a week!? Damn the rents have gone up massively since I left.

I definitely wouldnt want to buy a house anywhere close to the sea. Maybe Greerton or somewhere high up especially with the sea level rising

Very nice house. What city is it in? And you were able to rent from the US? How did you pull that thru? 😂 Is it affordable, by NZ standards?
