Afiyet Olsen! You should try cig kofte dorum. Dorum means a wrap. It's a wrap spread w/ cig kofte, pomegranate sauce, some pickles and arugula. You must find a place that makes it w/ arugula. You should pair that with an ayran (I-Ron). FYI, ayran is Turkey's national drink. To be fair, some will argue that it's raki. (It's political) The lahmacun should be eaten with some lettuce on it, a squirt of lemon juice and then wrapped and eaten. The proper pronunciation is Kof-TAY.... Think of it as being similar to cafe'. To really enjoy the cream and honey, you should spread the cream on some bread and top it off w/ honey. The beer Efes, is probably named after Ephesus. Ephesus is most famous for the house of the Virgin Mary. Apparently, JC's mother, spent the last years of her life there.
The most famous food in Turkey is Iskender. Iskender is Turkish for Alexander and the food was probably named after Alexander the Great.

10:28 correction, it is not a bean soup...just baked beans. At first glance, due to the amount of liquid, you would say it's a soup, hence your confusion. Normally, there's also a bowl of rice and pickles when you eat kuru fasulye (translation: dry beans, I admit it's weird to see them in a pool of liquid, lol). Afiyet olsun. Keep up the good work.

@@MattandJulia in Istanbul they had a lot of them (we were there on a class trip with the German school of Prague), each of us stayed with one person from the 11th grade there...so they warned us... so when they weren't with us we encountered it and asked multiple times and finally got one.If there weren't other people around I would have just left and gone somewhere else. I don't like when they're trying to trick you.

@@MattandJulia Right, I think it was banned in 2008, it's a good decision but as long as people eat at home, it's okay. It is a good decision to prohibit the sale of it as ready. Home made is perfect, ready-made items are fake, it is evident from every aspect.

Thnx 4 this nice video. but one thing: u don't eat "çiğ köfte" with spoons. u find some 'turkish' romain lettuce put the çiğ köfte in in then sprinkle it with lemon and role it to a wrap then bite it or eat et at a whole. Bon appetite. :) But u should definetly try the original receipe with minced meat. Or make urself. ;)

Pide is not a pitzza. Pizza originally taken from Ottoman pide. History is a must. The poor ıtalians cooked it with tomatos and a little cheese. Why? Becouse all the meat taken by the castel people. Only bread and intesticals. But they also learned pasta from Ottoman eriste. Take care. Thanks.
I hope you did not have stomach hurt because of çiğköfte. Because it should be serve with some herbs like lettuce, parsley etc. Otherwise it is hard to digest
