I listened to this entire thing with my jaw practically on the floor. EVERY SINGLE cymbal that he demo'd is great, in my opinion. I don't think I've ever liked every cymbal in an entire line before but these...oh my god...I don't even own an acoustic drum set anymore but I might have to buy one just so I can also purchase about ten of these cymbals! And I loooooooove the Sound Wave hi-hats. Also, I really appreciated that he played the cymbals and didn't try to show off his drumming skills. There was another dude who attempted to demo these cymbals but one minute into the video and I was ready to scream--dude was too interested in showing off, than he was in showing how the Paiste 900's sounded. Anyway, I gotta go see if Guitar Center has these cymbals on sale. Paiste, all the way, baby!
I love how you play so well, and yet still showcase the cymbals. The sound quality is great, and I get an excellent cross-section of each line. I do adore Paiste cymbals, and this new 900 series is nice. Thanks for putting this together!
They sound perfectly in tune with each other. Got some dirt, some power... Home run for Paiste. Absolutely love these. Just need a pair of 13" a sound edge hats..
I'm a Zildjian player by choice. But I love and understand Paiste equally as I am 41 years old. And I do select specific instruments from them time to time. When I grew up? Zildjian and Paiste were the only cymbals considered as 'The Best'. And I think that is still true today.
Hi Nathan, I made the video and review. My personal taste is more on the thinner and organic side (Paiste Masters, Traditionals, Kerope etc) but out of the four models I would choose the 15" model. cheers Max
What a nice video. At least here, yo me they sound the same than the colorsound, meaning the color layer doesn't affect that much, nice to see we can get this great sound with additional customization
Dude these sound AWESOME! So fun to listen to. That HF wash like plate glass shattering over a sheet of ice. Unlike the other mid-range Paistes; the PST 7s and 8s have that unmusical manhole cover clang underneath the other sound layers. Attack/stick definition is clear and the bells have a bright ping that cuts to the front of the mix just right, like a beautiful church bell
Older vid I know but I just bought the 20'' std ride it is really good.I was looking for an all rounder ride. I think I'll get a set of 14'' sound edge hi hats.
Well. Looks like I'm switching to Paiste. Have been wanting to for years. Was going to invest in the Alpha series but it looks like those are discontinued.
So is the first set the “medium” or regular designation? Are those recommended for small bedroom studios? I don’t want it to be too loud and wet in the mix drowning out everything. Plus neighbors🤗
now this is how you demo cymbals
thanks!
def agree... one of the coolest demo vids I've seen of this line...and To be honest , I haven't seen a bad vid yet.. I dig these cymbals a lot.
yep, best yet, great demo
I totally agree!

Max Gebhardt My favorite is 15" Heavy's as well .... ty for the response... going to grab a pair.
Nathan Van Slyke so true! Got the Dimensions in 2004 and was so disappointed when they stopped the production just a year later or so...
Now this is how you demo cymbals. Great job my man
Great demo of all these cymbals! You have helped me make my choices on which 900 series to get !
Great to hear!
18 China, 22 heavy ride, 15 hats, and 17 and 19 heavy crashes are beautiful
15" sound edge hats would round out this series nicely

7 years later this is still the best demo for the Paiste 900 medium and heavies
17" & 18" heavy crashes sound very rich. Nice demo.
Best demo cymbal ever made. They sound 👏👍❤️
What a nice video. At least here, yo me they sound the same than the colorsound, meaning the color layer doesn't affect that much, nice to see we can get this great sound with additional customization
Thanks for the nice demo. It's difficult to find unprocessed sounds to compare.
Wow. Very musical cymbals. Love the sound!

Older vid I know but I just bought the 20'' std ride it is really good.I was looking for an all rounder ride. I think I'll get a set of 14'' sound edge hi hats.

Hopefully they don't discontinue them or raise the price.
Man, those chocolate eaters up in the mountains of Switzerland know how to make a cymbal or two
Adorei !!! Serão meu próximo set !!!
Fantastic
Wow love em
These do not sound like 100-200 dollar cymbals. They sound amazing. Hopefully the same as in person.
