- "Stranger on the Shore" is a piece for clarinet written by Acker Bilk in the early 1960's. I'm playing it on a Diatonic harmonica in the key of Ab. The backing track I'm using is the work of the Pianist Richard Clayderman.

Hello mr grey owl you are by far still the best, one question do you have any suggestion on the last two lines of stranger on the shore, ii cant seem to get it right
great sounds, no I will rephrase, that brillant sounds ;-)
Great playing, you are the greatest. Where did you get the accompany mentioned music.
Thanks very much for your kind and generous comment. Here is the background music for the song ruclips.net/video/k7rvcVhpE4c/видео.html . I played my rarely used Ab harmonica on this one. It involves playing a few 'bend' notes and one overblow I think.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!!! WHAT HARMONICA , WHAT KEY? THANKS , BOB
Thanks so much! The harmonica key is Ab (not a general all round useful key but it matched the song key) If you tap on more below the song title you will find the how to play tab I wrote for the piece.
So My Friend , I tapped on to more information . Do you think Stranger On The Shore can be played in the key of C with the tabs you printed ? I've watched your other videos previously . Somewhere over the Rainbow included , I also like what a Wonderful World , bet you could do that really well . Anyway I'm just a beginner still working on single notes . LOL So any way I enjoy your playing ,you've given me many things to follow . Thanks for that my friend !! Keep on with the great sounds . Bob
Thanks Bob. Playing the tab with a C harmonica will allow you to play the recognisable tune. It's just that you won't be able to play along in the same key I am playing. All the best
@@GreyOwl-Harmonica Thanks again, hope we can talk again some time. Best to you.
great what k ey are you playing in
Thanks. I'm playing a standard diatonic harmonica in the key of Ab. I have written a tab of the basic song which can be found in the video description when you expand it to show all. The song contains one overblow note unfortunately as these can be tricky to play. Good luck
Wonderful Gracefully played full of emotions. Is this played in 2nd position or 1st position.Thank you
Thank you so much! It is in 2nd position and the 'how to play tab' can be found in the video description when you click 'show more'.
Thank you for taking time to reply.
That was beautiful. I have to learn this piece. I am going to try to find it in the key of G or A.
+mvecellio1 Thank you so much! Hope you find it, it's such a great song to play.
Found the tab and backing track in the key of C. Thanks.
was that the Suzuki you were playing and does it have closed ends so no air escapes while your playing /
It is a Hohner Special 20 which has no open slots on the sides of the cover plates.
Thanks
Very nice. Tell me what you articulate when play overblow on 5 hole?
your comment says diatonic harmonica says key = Ab .
