First time I heard this song I was blown away. It took one listen to become one of my Arch Enemy's songs and you are right it brought me back to 80s trash and definitely Slayer influenced. Alissa is a freaking beast and it's crazy someone so tiny and beautiful making those growls. Great review! Go Fins!🤙😊
I'm sure you've watched @TheCharsimaticVoice's videos of Will Ramos's throat. She goes into depth about how the sounds he makes are done. They're working with a University lab to understand how people can do this. Putting a camera into his neck to watch is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Alissa's singing and growling are top-notch. What I enjoy most about AE is their use of guitars to carry the melody while she uses the gutturals. My favorite song by them is Deceiver, Deceiver. You get to see the band at their melodic death metal best. (with this song in the same category).
Yes, I thought the same thing when I heard this song: Uhhh, this is how Slayer would play if they stepped into Death Metal. Great song by AE, I'm blown away. I hope they will release a new album soon.
Nice to hear you make a few comments about the drummer. He gets waayy too little credit by reactors. He is a monster on those drums and the speed of that boy is insane. One of my favourite drummers of all time. The song and music is like you said just nonstop. It just pounds your face for 4 minutes straight. Insane tempo on all instruments and awesome riffs. And yeah goes without saying. Allyssa is an absolute beast. Awesome band all the way through.
Just a brutal song, in a good way. Was expecting this to be a little more melodic, but it's still good. Alissa is awesome, still love her cleans, but I can listen to her all harsh. How can someone of that size do those harsh vocals? How many times have you listened to Tatiana?? 😝 You've done a few new songs lately. Was going to suggest some new songs from a couple other bands, but you haven't heard either of those bands at all yet. Nemophila and LOVEBITES, 2 Japanese metal bands, all female. If interested try these to start: "Oiran" (official live ) by Nemophila "Holy War" by LOVEBITES, live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020.

Haha. Thanks for this. Love the intensity in this one. It's going to open the live shows I believe.

"Slayer with better vocals." Who doesn't want that? Deceiver, Deceiver and Sunset Over The Empire are good ones to check out.

I keep meaning to ask this. That tree in the background, is that Yggdrasil?
Nordic blood baby lol
Certain parts of this song sound like they rip off some DEICIDE riffs and vocal arrangements. 🤘
