Are they furniture designers now turned artists? That’s the question. I think it’s an easier and cheaper business model for high end furniture designers really. Less overhead, less manufacturing costs, etc. Let’s make just one, call it a collectible and charge for the cost of five.. lol. And how is value appreciation measured? Some really excellent work though.
That's a good question! It seems an easier model but the problem is that clients aren't queuing to buy one. A lot of PR activity is needed. As to value appreciation it's usually measured by secondary market demand. The same as with art.
