Amazing bit of common sense on the Battery VAT change. Does a government minister want to install one at home? 🤔
That 7k intake will unfortunately by this time next year be about 4k going on my apprentices class, over half dropped out before the end of the 1st year, very sad
That implies either: the course or delivery is at fault, or natural selection removed unsuitable candidates that would ultimately be poor tradesmen.
Thanks for another great news report 👏
So whirlpool are trying to pass the but yet again by blaming something else for their failure. Great news weekly as always Joe.
Oh and I’m still haven’t received my two prize’s from before Christmas. It really doesn’t bode well does it .
Actually, to play devil's advocate for a second, the tumble dryer affair has nothing to do with Whirlpool. The poor bastards bought the hopelessly inept Indesit group weeks before the tumble dryer news was tactfully released to the press. The Hotpoint and Creda brands were deemed too valuable to be held responsible for their own reckless ineptitude and Whirlpool has carried the can the whole time. In the UK, Whirlpool had such a small presence at the point they purchased Indesit/Hotpoint/Creda that it was decided that Whirlpool should move its' tiny operation in to the dilapidated Hotpoint facility in Peterborough. All but a tiny number of Whirlpool staff were laid off, including senior managers and directors. The entire Tumble Dryer fiasco is a Hotpoint legacy problem and it's been managed entirely by the old-guard Hotpoint staff in Peterborough while simultaneously blaming Whirlpool for the whole thing. They're a disgraceful company run by greedy and selfish criminals.
so door switch is (when shut) the only thing that turns on the machines heat ! and no thermal cutoff ! - shouldnt be.
Good job,
Here's the problem with moving to countries with federal systems, like, I don't know, Canada, as a random example: federal income tax, state income tax, federal business tax, state business tax. If you're an electrician, and you think 40-60k is a lot of money (firstly, what are you even doing with your life anyway), have a _proper_ look at taxation first. Yeah, you also get deductions too, but systems that run like that are extremely complex, which is another headache.
Will the home battery be zero VAT for a limited time?
will the standard advise for battery mounting be at least wall mount 1m high minimum - if case of flooding.
Would an AFFD fitted prevented this lethal electrical fire?
Since the whole Whirlpool debacle broke out in 2015 I've been keeping my eyes open¹, and I've found at least 3-4 of the affected units *still* in active service in various places - One of which was a guest house in a popular seaside town. It's quite clear Whirlpools recall efforts are lacklustre at best in this respect, and in some cases (Including the Bhatts, if their dryer was the source of ignition) could even be dangerously negligent.
(¹ - Noting I'm not a Sparkie/tradesperson, don't visit many homes at all, and I get out very little compared to most. To still identify and alert on 3-4 affected units with such a restricted range of travel suggests that there is something going extremely wrong at the Whirlpool end.)
Thumbs up

MK RCBO's? Thought their CU's were disappearing from the market??????
The MK Sentry brand is licensed to the manufacturer Circpro.
Violet disinfectant?
Violent disinfectant = Sulphuric acid. 😋
(Let's face it; It'll eat away germs. And everything else, for that matter... 🙃)
Hello everyone
I think the two words you shoe horned into the presentation are violet and spectrum.
Thank you
word 1: vinny from spaceballs
word2: car batterys lead acid

When is a rule going to become a regulation that bans ring circuits.
@MARTINA-gc3tq hopefully never. There is nothing at all wrong with ring circuits. I speak with 50 years work experience

Great guesses Martin, listen to next week's show to see if you're right and you won! 👍

Those MK RCBO's look like they are double pole which is great for car chargers surely..
True double pole would require overcurrent protection in both poles.
They will be Single pole, switched neutral i expect.
@@simonaragon1992 Single pole protected is OK so long as RCD functionality remains effective under all conditions. Think EM instead of EC types.

its really great but your insurance is void if you have a battery so just thought id say when it burns down your house your lose everything i did.
What aren't you telling us?

Disinfectant and budgerigar?
Nice guesses Ian, and an appropriate name for the second word! 😂 Listen to next week's show to see if you won. 👍
Yay, a huge lithium battery in my house...what could possibly go wrong?
Your house is made uninsurable 😂😂
Better than people charing cheap electric scooters indoors 🔥. Batteries are normally installed outside or in outbuildings anyway so not much chance of buring the house down.
Something to bare in mind is the outdoor temperatures as some battery system can start throttling power at below 10 degrees Celsius and the datasheets might not mention this.
Disinfectant, violet,
Bubbly and disinfectant
I’m against 0 rate againt ev charging being made should target 250kwh to 350kwh or above should comply to improve flat areas etc , shopping comple , ev owners will buy 32kwh chargers regardless but it’s thfe super charger network that needs a major overhaul, as we are seriously going backwards than forwards.
