  • (1695 - 1734). What little information that exists about 18th-century Mantuan maker Antonio Zanotti suggests he may have been the teacher of Camillo Camilli, whose work closely resembles his and with whom he had a brief 'non-compete' agreement from 1731-32.
Zanotti was born in Lombardy and had moved to Mantua by 1724, but nothing about his training is known and his instruments are rare, the first surviving one dated 1726.
This beautiful violin has a slightly petite construction and is very easy and manueverable to play. The sound is sweet and rich and carries well.
Back Length: 35.1 cm. Certified by Reuning and Son.
