You have once again brightened up our evening in a chilly West Sussex. Your subscribers are increasing rapidly and rightly so. Also, well done for keeping the standards up on Gala Evening as you both made such an effort. Hopefully the some of the other passengers, who made no effort whatsoever, watch this video and feel ashamed. Please keep up the good work. Thank you!
Hey Bill, such the consummate narrator...first time cruisers here that are all in for the smaller more intimate style that embraces the traditional nostalgia of the ocean going experience that is rich with luxury and style. A great escape to immerse oneself into whatever you imagine your onboard adventure to be. Not big on port days though... too much like herding cattle. You and your wonderful wife are doing a fine job that I really enjoy watching. Cheers!
I must say Bill (if that is in fact your real name) I enjoy your color-sorry-colour commentary - banter comes to mind - as you share with us the sights, sounds, aromas, quirks and crowds of ship and shore. Early-morning deck crew activities (they seem to be always hosing down the decks where I'd like to be walking), wind that can suck coffee out of a cup, and rough seas are a common part of any self-respecting blue water cruise. Love your humor-sorry-humour as you present us with these good-natured as well as realistic videos. Cheers.
Good morning. Yes, Bill really is my name. Thank you for your comments. There's nothing better than a character forming walk along the deck, in a razor sharp wind, at an ungodly hour!
Really like the diary gives a great overall view of life on the ship. Particularly like the port information too. Please do include in your future trips! Thanks 😊
Fantastic video! Your Chanel really is enjoyable to watch. Especially the true day to day activities. I really think the gym on her is fantastic with the views from the treadmills and the large area for Mat work too. Thank you for sharing Cunards Queen Elizabeth..she is beautiful. Really looking forward to seeing Queen Anne too and wondering what the gym will be like on her too 😁
Hi, thanks so much for your comments. Yes, the gym is fantastic... though, as you can imagine, my wife saw far more of it that in did! I was just a very part time user!!

I have to say… I found this video haphazardly, by accident, but I found it very entertaining! Wife is certainly the star… Bill was a good commentator. Whatever you do Bill, keep your wife happy! She’s a gem.
@@ritzytravelguide I am happy to say that I am a new subscriber! I had no idea I’d be doing this today … kinda like what I thought the morning I woke up in Tijuana after I did something that kept me there overnight just wanting to go have some fun the night before.

Truly love your videos. As a first time cruiser, I"ll be sailing on the QM2 for a brief stop in Bruges. Your videos have introduced me to the wide world of cruising. I love your style. Thank you!
Good day, Bill. Just a complimentary note to say how much I enjoy your videos. I like your presentations and your outlook on cruising. I definitely want to take this cruise on the QE. At the top of my bucket list is the QM2 across the Atlantic, and I am intrigued with your video, which I just watched, on the Azamara Pursuit. It looks excellent. I have seen a few of your videos in the past and was so happy to land upon your channel, to which I have now subscribed. Thank you, once again.
Hi Andrew, lovely to hear from you. Thank you for your very thoughtful words. Much appreciated. A Cunard voyage on either QM2 or QE would be delightful. As would be Azamara. I'm not so sold on the Queen Anne. I have a video on that coming out, next weekend
Your format is fabulous. Great content here then a suggestion of more in-depth content to follow on with. The comment about the comedian had me rolling. Brilliant. I'm so glad I found your channel.
Entertaining, informative and hilarious all in one. Well done! Been on all Cunard ships, so far. We will be on QE next July in Alaska. Maybe, we will get to meet you on a future voyage. Thanks for taking us along. Keep on cruising.
Hi, thanks so much, that's very kind of you! Yes, would be delighted to bump into each other on a future cruise. I'll be there, doing all the daft activities!
I’ve been part of a research group that studied food portions on cruise ships and our research shows you need to eat less while on a cruise. You’re not as active. And your digestion slows. And you tend to eat more often and because it’s free you eat more.
We are going to be on queen Mary 2 in December from Brooklyn to South Hampton. Your videos are fantastic and humorous. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
@ritzytravelguide it was amazing, we went down the tunnels so interesting , did the amalfi coast by boat , going on our first Cunard cruise September 👍
@@ritzytravelguide I've narrowed my choices between P&O and Cunard (Norway cruise has been on my wish list for a while). I must admit that the thought of cruising on QE/QM was a bit intimidating at first, but I think it's time to take the plunge.
@mtedwards Hi, don't be intimidated by Cunard! They do really great itineraries to the Fjords, with a few different ports of call to choose from. If you want 'old world' Cunard, then pick QM/QE/QV. If you prefer a 'modern' version of Cunard choose the brand new Queen Anne.
Absolutely love your channel, very enjoyable and informative. I really admire your wife keeping fit in the gym (I’m the same myself). I don’t have breakfast, i go the gym as soon as I wake up!

Now me and my wife are going on our very first cruise this summer and we have chosen Cunard to take us around the Med. Any tips or advice would be very welcome to make our first experience memorable. Happy New Year to all.
Hi Neil, many thanks for your kind comments. A few tips for you: 1. Before you sail, check what is the theme for the Gala Nights. Cunard release this info a month or 2 before sailing. These Gala Nights are couple of times a week, on Sea days with a dress 'suggestion' that you can follow. There are 4 themes that are on rotation. eg Black&White , Masquerade Ball, 1920s Charlston, and Red. It gives you a chance to accessorise. Both men and women keenly follow. As its formal night you need to dress nicely, but you can accessorise around the theme. 2. Afternoon tea in the Queens Room is a must. Get there at least 30 minutes before. Or it will be full. 3. You get given 1 bottle of sparkling wine per cabin. You are permitted to drink it in the restaurants. Do take it with you to your meal if you wish to make it special. The waiter will open it. There is no corkage fee for their own bottle 4. Speciality coffee eg Cappuccino is available for free in the main dining rooms. Take the opportunity! 5. If you have opted for assigned fixed Dining times, you can change your mind on board. Just see the maitre D. I hope this helps! There are several other tips in my Cunard videos, and if you get a moment, have a watch!
Love your videos Bill, your comments always make me smile & your backing track reminds me of Pathe news.....oops! that comment makes me feel really old. 🙂- We have three cruises coming up with Virgin, P&O this year and Azamara next year. Just discovered your channel and I'm enjoying it but one thing would add to the pleasure. Your name is Bill but please introduce your wife. She always adds to the fun.
Hi, you are absolutely right, and I love having her in the footage too! But, she prefers taking me, rather than the other way round! I'm slowly trying to convince her to be more in front, and introduce herself!
Excellent video. Cunard transatlantic is on my bucket list. My only disappointment is the buffet where patrons serve themselves and touch everything. I would expect that a classy ship would have their crew serving the buffet. I love everything else on Cunard though.
Hi, thanks for your message. Do you know what, the strange thing is: it depends which Cunard ship you're on, and the policy they have at the time. When we were on QM2 in 2023 they did serve you. But a few months later on the QE they didn't. And it appears to have a very mixed opinion from Passengers on which is preferred. Some prefer the speed of serving themselves, whilst others prefer having it done by staff.
So sad that QE is no more doing the Med.!!! Looking at QV...! OMG... October...and sooo many turists ...I taught this was quiet season 😮 we are planning a Sept. Med. cruise...it's going to be madness!!😮
Can’t wait to see the Celebrity cruise. I much prefer Celebrity and Viking to old fashioned tired Cunard. The current 3 ships look well past their sell by date. Cabins and bathrooms especially desperately need updating. Shower curtains in this day and age! No thank you. Technology is well behind most competitors too. The overall package needs a big update. Great style video. Thank you. Enjoy Celebrity and can’t wait to see how you get on. All the best.
First, I adore your videos! Second I love your wife’s style! Would love a list of the clothing designers your wife wore on this cruise especially the cream and green dress and where she got the mask
I've been on cruises where they have formal nights and other nights they have costume nights and I think it's fun. So many cruises now don't do anything like that
Hi, I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you are fully recovered. Whilst waiting for this episode to come out, did you already see Part One, about the Queen Elizabeth, that was released last week? If not, you can see it here : ruclips.net/video/sPYtWWc89H4/видео.html
Yes and enjoyed it very much...btw Cunard was so very understanding offering us credit toward a future cruise when wifey has recovered...so very much appreciated for their compassion, a classy management team! @@ritzytravelguide
Ll gone, you produced a really good video, absolutely loved it.... There was a down side.... You did a fantastic job showcasing how utterly beautiful the Elizabeth was. I've been on QV & QE msny times, and we're going on the new Queen Anne in August. But I'm not convinced I'm going to like it, it looks far to "celebrity".....
The QE is on route to Perth arrives on the 27th last port Bali. We are on her in January to North Queensland for 10days we are looking forward to it we disembarked Royal Princess on Sunday home within 30min we live on the lower North shore of Sydney.
Very exciting upcoming trip for you in January! In fact, some of the passengers on our cruise, in this video, are sailing all the way to Australia, from the Barcelona start point. It's been a long trip for them We have not been on Royal Princess.... I wonder how it compares
I am planning my QM2 Transatlantic Crossing for 2025 since this year did not work out this year. I just need to know when Royal Ascot will be held so I can do the crossing afterwards but they will not have that information until April.
We sailed the Queen Elizabeth mid-September 2023 on a similar itinerary. When we docked at Civitavecchia, our excursions choice was the Pontifical Summer Palace at Castel Gandolfo. It has only been opened to the public during Frances’ papacy. If you find yourself on Cunard in the Mediterranean again, I would highly suggest this, over a Rome excursion. When the next Pope is elected, it could again be closed to the public. Cheers
Hi Luke, that's a really interesting suggestion, thanks very much. We will be in Civitavecchia in a couple of months time, and that sounds a great idea!
Do we have to have a £2 million cruise insurance or we will be denied boarding? We booked the cruise from Seascanner, but we are not British residents.
Hi, by rights you must get insurance, and that is stipulated in the small print of most cruise lines these days. In practice you don't always get asked to show evidence of your insurance. Sometimes at point of booking, or boarding you will get asked. But, even if it's not for £2m, you really should to get cruise insurance. It's so costly if things go wrong, to pay out of your own pocket. I wouldn't recommend anyone to cruise without insurance.
How would you rate the food on this ship versus MSC? I know that MSC is completely on the opposite end of the price spectrum from Cunard, so I'm curious if the food is similar.
Hi, food on Cunard is very much British traditional. So in the Britannia Dining Room you'll get dishes such as Beef Wellington, hearty winter soups, and time honoured desserts such as Eton Mess, sticky toffee pudding, tarts and a cheese board. There's also the Golden Lion Pub aboard Cunard, where you'll get pub classics such as pies, and fish and chips. The highlight for many is afternoon tea, served in the Queens Room. Room service is also complimentary on Cunard MSC is very much Italian orientated, so you'll get lots of pasta dishes, and other Mediterranean specialities. There is no formal afternoon tea. The buffet on MSC, particularly their latest ships is very comprehensive. But there is a totally different feel between Cunard and MSC. The former is time honoured and traditional, the latter more contemporary European. MSC is cheaper, but has less included in the ticket price, so there will be more up-charges involved
Just one question we are worried about the formal nights it will be very hot in January in Queensland so I may go for cocktail dress etc rather than full formal lifestyle here is different to Europe. What do you think?
I think that's very sensible! We spoke to quite a few Aussies on board the cruise, about that very subject. They remarked that whilst in Australian waters, Cunard Cruises are more casually dressed, due to the heat. So I think you are probably spot on with your choice
Joke Incoming HOW DARE you make us wait all this time for your next video. Denying us your viewers the joy of your dulcet tones and jealously inducing ship board and cruise port experiences. It’s just OUTRAGEOUS!!!! Ok joke rant over. Well not the part about your dulcet tones that really is true. I throughly enjoyed this video and look forward to more in the series. I do in all honesty wish they came faster but that’s because I enjoy them so much. Though having edited video myself I understand the time required in doing so. I will say as a point of very minor constructive criticism that the background you used in this one when your on screen at home isn’t my favorite. I much prefer ones like what you used in your last video. Well done. Can’t wait for the next installment.
🤣. Thanks for your rant!! Yes I know, it's 2 weeks between episodes, on average! Interesting comment about my studio background... I thought I'd go a bit avant garde with this one... but agreed, perhaps it doesn't suit a Cunard video so much, which should be more period look 😬. This one is more NCL, or MSC I think ! Because I travel a lot, and the background behind me is unreliable, I tend to use a virtual background. I'm still trying to find the best one... Next 2 videos in the pipeline are Port Guides to Barcelona, and Mallorca. I shall have to put my thinking cap on for suitable Mediterranean themes! Following that the video release after that is a Restaurant Guide to Cunard.... Perhaps a Victorian Food Hall for that. Any viewers reading this, please feel free to create a HiDef background, I'd be delighted to use them!
It’S PRONOUNCED pokay. Not Poke. Lol. Means squares. Not often I can school a true English gentleman on English ( Hawaiian actually ). Reminds me of us saying we are wearing our “ Fanny Packs “. LOL.
Great video Bill really enjoyable then but included in the price is NOT complimentary. Complimentary is free but as you said included in the price. So many on here get this wrong just that disagreement if that's what it is with you.
Time lapse 09:54...There go the Jehovah's Witnesses again with their public witnessing literature carts. I've seen them so often in the back ground of travel videos. They seem to be everywhere!
Just cruised on Queen Elizabeth - poor slow service, crew extremely rude, poor food - would not sail on Cunard again you can get better quality service on celebrity of royal Caribbean for the price of a Cunard ticket. Never going back to Cunard, there just not worth it!
That's very disappointing for you. I sense your frustration. On the subject of Celebrity, we literally just came off their latest flagship. You can see our review here: ruclips.net/video/tRcCyJ2_iVc/видео.html

Hi, you are absolutely right, and I love having her in the footage too! But, she prefers taking me, rather than the other way round! I'm slowly trying to convince her to be more in front, and introduce herself!
Commentary and background music do fit well. And I often don't like the background music in many reviews.
Thanks very much!
Love your videos. Will be going on the queen elizabeth in Aug 2024 and this helps alot. Wonder if gluten free foods are easy to get?
Have a great cruise, and yes gluten free goods are available!
Yes, she's heading off to new adventures
Can’t wait to see the Celebrity cruise. I much prefer Celebrity and Viking to old fashioned tired Cunard. The current 3 ships look well past their sell by date. Cabins and bathrooms especially desperately need updating. Shower curtains in this day and age! No thank you. Technology is well behind most competitors too. The overall package needs a big update.
Great style video. Thank you. Enjoy Celebrity and can’t wait to see how you get on. All the best.
Many thanks indeed! Yes, I am really looking forward to getting aboard the Celebrity Ascent. It looks promising.
First, I adore your videos! Second I love your wife’s style! Would love a list of the clothing designers your wife wore on this cruise especially the cream and green dress and where she got the mask
Thank You! I'll ask my wife to get back on that information
Just checked up. She's glad you approve! The cream and green dress she picked out on our Asian Tour that year. The mask came from Etsy!
I've been on cruises where they have formal nights and other nights they have costume nights and I think it's fun. So many cruises now don't do anything like that
Yes, Cunard is one of the larhestcrensining7lines that have formal night, veith dress codes
We had to cancel our QE cruise the week after yours due to illness...bummer but look forward to seeing your review 😀
Hi, I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you are fully recovered.
Whilst waiting for this episode to come out, did you already see Part One, about the Queen Elizabeth, that was released last week? If not, you can see it here :
ruclips.net/video/sPYtWWc89H4/видео.html
Yes and enjoyed it very much...btw Cunard was so very understanding offering us credit toward a future cruise when wifey has recovered...so very much appreciated for their compassion, a classy management team! @@ritzytravelguide
The size of your fish & chips meal is probably smaller because people always complain about how much weight you put on during a a sea cruise!
That cruise I 'only' put on 3lb, so I better thank the fish and chips!! It was good though
What a lovely video. Thank you. :)
So glad you liked it 😊
Ll gone, you produced a really good video, absolutely loved it.... There was a down side....
You did a fantastic job showcasing how utterly beautiful the Elizabeth was. I've been on QV & QE msny times, and we're going on the new Queen Anne in August. But I'm not convinced I'm going to like it, it looks far to "celebrity".....
Hi Steven, yes the QE is beautiful, and we're all a little on tenterhooks with the Queen Anne, hoping....praying she comes out all right!
I've just discovered your channel and I am in ❤.
Awww, thanks Lara 😊
Great vlog, may I ask, was the pizza class an organised excursion or did you book independently?
Hi, we booked it independently. It's a 15 minute walk from the cruise pier.

Two L’s in Mallorca is pronounced as a Y, same with Pollo or Soller. Great video.
Thanks Simon!
This might not be related but can you say where you’re wife got her beautiful mask for the masquerade ball from?… it’s beautiful!
Hi there, from Etsy
your wife is a good golfer!
She has a lovely swing, way nicer than mine!
It's been a long trip for them
We have not been on Royal Princess.... I wonder how it compares
Ty for sharing the shops. What skin care brands do they sell PLEASE?
I'm sorry, I don't recall that. Perhaps viewers reading this may be able to assist
I am planning my QM2 Transatlantic Crossing for 2025 since this year did not work out this year. I just need to know when Royal Ascot will be held so I can do the crossing afterwards but they will not have that information until April.
Yes, Royal Ascot is normally held mid June. What a magnificent way to enrich proceedings, with a crossing on Cunard!
@@ritzytravelguideOH I know I believe it will be June 16th which works well for the return on June 24th with a quick hop to Scotland to see cousins.
Room service is also complimentary on Cunard
MSC is very much Italian orientated, so you'll get lots of pasta dishes, and other Mediterranean specialities.
How much is the glass ship in the shop I’m going on a cruise in January with my friend Sydney to Tasmania
That's the one object I didn't check the price for 🤣
@@ritzytravelguide thank you
show us the food serve or con be serve
on princes Grill.
We have been on QE before but only had a black & White night so will go with your advice. Thank you Diana C.
We have been on QE before but only had
Thank you for your reply we have been on QE bef
Joke Incoming
HOW DARE you make us wait all this time for your next video.
Queens grill easy to board
It’S PRONOUNCED pokay. Not Poke. Lol. Means squares. Not often I can school a true English gentleman on English ( Hawaiian actually ). Reminds me of us saying we are wearing our “ Fanny Packs “. LOL.
You are so right!
Great video Bill really enjoyable then but included in the price is NOT complimentary. Complimentary is free but as you said included in the price. So many on here get this wrong just that disagreement if that's what it is with you.
If you need a bigger portion of fish n chips why not just order 2?
I could have done, but I was surprised how much it had shrunk in 3 months!
How did the pizza taste. You can’t just show us that yummy looking pie and not tell us how you liked it.
Hi there, the pizza was great! Buffalo cheese, and lots of basil. A classic Napoli flavour!
😮😮😮😮😮😮😊😊😊😊😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
You sound so jolly and why wouldn't you be with such a beautiful wife.
Thank you so much 💓

You can see our review here:
