No, they know it isn’t a kitten. They are gentle with the human baby. If it were a kitten, the cat would be giving it love bites on the neck and play with it. Cats do not play with babies the way they play with kittens. Give more credit to cats. They know the difference and show it.
Male cats are more loyal and disciplined though, they will stay patiently by the human's side unwaveringly, without constantly testing them, as time relentlessly marches on.

Cats are pretty forgiving with babies. You can hear it purring, its contented for sure. My cat played tag with me when i was a toddler I'm told by my parents :)

Both of our cats have been de-clawed in the front and it has never slowed them down. They are awesome hunters and climb like nobody's business. If its done early enough they adapt with no problem, especially if they are house cats, ours are indoor/outdoor and still have never had a problem.
