Looks good, and I know what you mean about some license plate bulbs being far too bright. There’s a taxi near us that drives around the neighbourhood, he’s obviously changed his license plate bulbs, but they are so bright, it looks like there’s a headlight shining on the rear bumper, and it lights up the road behind it 😂😂😂
Hi Hilton, great video. I haven't been brave enough to change my light bulbs but they do make a huge difference. Merry Christmas to you and best wishes & more videos in 2021. ;-)
thank you I have my car at the dealer and I feel they are trying to work up just anything . I have a battery pull and they already replaced the alternator new battery and some type of start module. now they have nothing left after my new $700 battery died to tell me but blame lights that I switched out 5 years ago. Thank you for your help. I've spent thousands with this dealer and it's never just cut and dry repair
Holy shite! They should have checked the fuses with a voltage meter to see where the drain was coming from before just replacing expensive items that don't need replacing. Trial by error at the customer's expense always pisses me off. If it is indeed the lights, then insist they credit you for all the other crap or at least give you 50% back.
Loved ya videos on the xf...I have an XE but sadly the ceiling light bulbs can't be changed as one whole sealed unit when I took it down ☹☹.. managed to get some ambient light in footwells n looks great...sadly again couldn't get 1 of footwell bulbs out but managed to disable it but obviously disables ceiling lights too.. Beginning to think wish never started job lol
I like what you've done there - I have the overly bright one piece led replacements and haven't been happy with them, this works much better. Have you considered the jogon indicators, I have recently added them and think they look great.
LoL, thanks Paul. I'll be fitting those indicators soon. I have a set of carbon fiber mirror covers coming and will be doing a video on them as well as fitting the indicators at the same time. 😉
Hi Hilton. Merry Christmas my friend! I hope all is well with you and your family. Great video as always. Blessings to you and yours. P.S. thanks for your advice, last I Wrote to you.
Interested to hear how well this works for you Hilton. I've replaced the incandescent ones on my x250 with two different LED bulb models and they both burned in a few weeks 😐 I now have again incandescent bulbs there waiting for sealed LED units to arrive, hopefully they will last a touch longer...
@@carfanfan Thanks you very much for the fast answer, I have many plans on changing the look of my old 2008 XF and therefore, your videos are helping alot! Greetings from Germany!
@@carfanfan Greetings Hilton, I love to see that there are Jag enthusiasts in every country, I hope that there is a huge community of Jag drivers in south africa!
have you noticed any battery pull from these lights Jaguar dealer is recommending me to remove my LED internal floor board and license plate lights because I continue to have battery issues . I've had these LEDS in my car since 2017and have only had batter issues since 2019 after a major battery issue with someone swapping the battery without keeping a charge letting my cat go completely dead
No I didn't, but it's easy to check. Get a 12v display socket to plug in any lighter socket that displays your battery charge, unplug each light and you will find the culprit if the battery level shoots up a little.
You make great informative videos. I’ve got a Jag XF 2010 in the UK. I noticed one of the two number plate lights is not working (passenger side). Bought a new light bulb and checked it before replacing the old one. But it still didn’t work. Could it be the light loom (wires)? I also watched one of your videos replacing the reverse camera loom. My reverse camera is not working either. My question: you used part no. C2Z19978 to replace reverse camera loom. Is it the same part no. loom that would also fix the number plate light, or is it part no. C2Z19874 ?
That loom has all the wires leading to your trunk, so yes, it will solve all your electrical problems on the trunk. If you don't want to blow money on the loom, you could try and pull them free of the rubber grommet to see which wires are broken and rejoin them. Cheap easy fix.
Thank you for your prompt response. I will try to check the wires before buying a new loom if I can find it for an old car. But just in case, is the correct part no. C2Z19978 or C2Z19874.
@@carfanfanFinally, I managed to find the correct harness link lead for my Jaguar. Your other video, “How to fix Jaguar reverse camera blue screen”, has been absolutely very helpful. I’ve just replaced it and the camera works well. Thanks very much for your informative video. However, it hasn’t sorted out the number plate light. So, I’m still searching for a solution. Thank you.
@ezeeart434 those little T10 bulbs get very hot and burn the socket they fit into. When you replaced the harness, did you check the license plate wire to see if uts getting power? If the wire has power but the socket doesn't, then the T10 socket is blown. If the wire has no power, make a new wire up with a T10 socket on the end and splice it into the wire of the working license plate light. If memory serves me, the right light wire runs from the left light wire as it is or visa versa so it could be at the joint where the problem lies.

Following your vid instructions i have just successfully installed a couple of bulbs to my number plate. Many thank's!

Nope, they don't have to be canbus ;)

What if your lights are loose and feel like they want to come out? How do you tighten it back in?
They aren't a ight fit. They are generally loose. You could line the edges with velt tape to fill the gap a bit.
@@carfanfan Thank you bro!
Whats the brand of this led ?
hey Abu, it's actually a generic brand. Any canbus LED T10 (W5W) will work here. The car looks really crisp at night with these now on. Love it.
Is the XJ L same removal process ??
If the lamp is the same then yes it would be.
